Aw man, it's GREAT to see you again! I've been missing these videos of yours, especially the humour, editing and just how well you end up playing the game through these challenges. Thek grenadegun woulda made the game a lot simpler and I'm torn between commending you for not using it and wondering why in the world you make these so much harder for yourself xD. As for an idea, maybe a Royalguard only playthrough in 3 or 4? I know it's in 5 but I feel like one of the older games is a lot more fun to do that kinda thing in. :) Or a Rebellion only playthrough, I've always loved that sword even if its combos have sent me flying off the map more than a few times. I'm not sure either of these are 100% doable though, so I apologize if they aren't. Again, I'm really glad to see a new video from you and I can't wait to see more. :)
hiya, and ty for all of that you've said! i'm sorry for not really being around as much as i should have been, and honestly really want to try to start actively putting stuff out. i was thinking about grenadegun usage for awhile, solely because it would be funny to trivialize the rest of it with it (and technically yeah it has 'gun' in the name), but ultimately decided not to because of how busted it can be. in the case of what else you also mentioned, royal guard only is very tempting, and i am thinking of possibly streaming one of the three games that has it at some point. 3 would probably be the most likely contender, but given how hard that would be even on normal, i'd have to take some considerations first. and as for the rebellion only playthrough, that also seems like a pretty neat idea to implement in one of the games, and probably not as rough as the royal guard idea (hopefully). either way, ty again for everything and i'm glad that you enjoyed this all! it's great to be able to hear stuff like this, and regardless if you think they may not be the perfect ideas for stuff to do something on, it's still important to me to be able to consider what people would like to see!

As for the grenadegun part, yeah, I figured it was something like that. From what I remember about playing the game, it was pretty broken 99% of the time. Still, can't say it wasn't satisfying blowing away an entire room with one shot. Glad you like the challenges! dang if that's actually true that would be really cool. honestly, i love small win conditions that exist in games like this where you don't even have to do a fight in a normal way.
@@SquaredNull it is, I used to do it on dmd runs on the ps2 when I was in highschool. Pretty ez to get him to jump when you know how to trigger him to jump to you.
I feel like you know by now but were you aware you can use charge shot with Alastor and Ifrit to get the elemental bullets without needing to DT to break some things
i had forgot about this mechanic going into the challenge and only ended up remembering it like a lot later into it unfortunately. though, i doubt it would have saved too much time or really helped to a big extent (except for the one blue orb fragment in that earlier armor suit). ty for mentioning it again, though, as i ended forgetting about it *again* since i finished doing the run.

dang, i should have called the dmc certified loremasters before writing my script for this. now i could search this up to see if it's true or not, but the idea of just creating bullets out of thin air is so cool that i don't even care if it's real or not canonically i'm gonna believe in it (and honestly it sounds about right knowing dante).

yeah apparently that weapon can spawn in the shield area if you finish both of them rather than one, as one of the areas will give the two spears and then the other if done will give that thing. pretty cool that you can get it this way, but it's really weird that you will get it regardless later on.

10:30 This phantom fight has a secret win con afaik if you just make him jump on that center ring 5 times it ends the fight because he falls through
