    It's been pointed out that I'm not actually using Azure rollers in this video... that's cause I accidentally picked Leaf Tires... don't do that ^_^;;

    This is also my favorite track of all time, it makes me very glad that one of my favorite RUclipsrs feels the same way! The music and aesthetic are perfect.

    I love Wild Woods as well! The track design is really nice imo, because it does keep the hands busy and it's easy to see your skill improvement reflected in your time as there aren't a huge amount of insanely difficult strats, so most of the improvement comes from doing the simple things better than you used to... and I'm a sucker for 5/4 as a time signature, any music written in 5 or 7 is a soft spot for me because of its naturally uneven and groovy vibe. This is easily one of my most fav MK OSTs.

    Yay, Wild Woods! This was one of the first tracks I time trialed and I had a lot of fun with it! Though I had trouble with the NISC so this should help.

    Hi ! Little insight on the delayed trick thing - as an mkwii player, in our game, we have to delay trick on *every* trickable ramp. Trying to apply Mkwii muscle memory to this track may be how the shortcut ended up being found.

    Hi, your videos are so underrated, I can’t think of any other Mario Kart 8 deluxe RUclipsr that goes this in depth!
    I’m making it my aim to use your guides to beat at least one of your times in time trials. Not quite there yet, but I’m working on it. I’m a huge fan, please keep up the good content!

    Not gonna lie, that shroom-less shortcut surprised me! I hadn't even considered that was possible, I thought that would just be all three mushrooms there.
    Also, I don't think I'm daring enough to ride on the edges as much as you do in the middle sector before and after the glider, at least online. Definitely gonna try it for practice though, thanks for the video!

  • @Bluebatstar

    Wow, that shortcut was reakky something. I have absolutely no idea how it works since it contradicts my understanding of this game, but you did a good job at explaining it, great video!

    Quite a coincidence, my personal favorite track too! Lots of great tips. I have a personal best of 1.54 on this track. By far fastest out of my friends but looking at yours still slow in comparisson. Always love to time trial and try and improve myself!

    • @stonee402

      its my favorite track in the game as well, I actually think its one of the hardest ones, its a very unpopular opinion but this track does require a ton of strategy, people typically define a track as hard when you have to brake drift on a turn so you don’t fall off but thats actually pretty easy.

  • @voNophica_
    @voNophica_ Год назад +5

    I think you forgot to mention that on the ending strat, after hopping when landing from the orange boost ramp trick, you need to execute a slide all the way until the brown ramp trick (you still do it on your PB)
    Without this slide the strat won't work

    • @Bayesic

      Thanks for pointing that out :-)

    I now clearly see the differences between biddy buggy and mr scooty. They are statistically the same but it is more difficult to pull of some tricks with mr scooty due to the smaller size, like hanging on the edge of a track (see barrel shortcut) or alligning yourself on a curved coinline. A small hitbox has also a downside apparently!

    • @MeesterTweester
      @MeesterTweester Год назад +1

      Mr. Scooty's small hitbox can be an advantage on some tracks, like drifting closer to walls or having an easier time slipping between two obstacles. Biddybuggy does better on the other tracks and can hang off the edges of tracks more. They also have slightly different drifting lines but it's very minor.

    • @King_Teresa_MK8dx
      @King_Teresa_MK8dx Год назад +2

      @@MeesterTweester I concur, on normal gameplay, I tend to miss item boxes or boostpads more often with mr scooty lol...

    • @MeesterTweester
      @MeesterTweester Год назад

      @@King_Teresa_MK8dx Yeah, a small hitbox will do that. That's also one of the reasons why people use Wiggler over Standard Bike/Flame Runner

    If you're running the course without the ending NISC (like I did) I found it was fastest to use shrooms at the NISC spot at the end on all 3 laps, instead of the other places.
    edit May 21, 2024: And now after v2.3.0 the WR also shrooms at the cut all 3 laps

    • @Bluebatstar
      @Bluebatstar Год назад

      @@Bayesic Ah, ok. Why is that. just out of interest? I assumed it'd be leaf tires due to how much antigrav there is.

    • @Bayesic
      @Bayesic  Год назад +2

      @@Bluebatstar There’s actually not as much antigrav as you’d think. But also rollers allow you to build up mini turbos way more easily especially on laps 2 and 3
