1:32 hey bayesic, the reason that tricking and releasing the miniturbo is faster is because when you release your miniturbo, the character's forward momentum changes, meaning you have much more forward action than intended. a regular trick off a bounce pad will launch you x distance based on y speed, but if you have a higher y speed youll get a higher x distance ;D
Obligatory 2 year late comment aside, this is still a useful guide. With a few hours of practice spread over a few days, I lowered my PB to the time below. DKj PB: (2:07.019) Lap 1: (0:43.543) Lap 2: (0:41.896) Lap 3: (0:41.580) Combo used: Red Yoshi, Teddy Buggy, Azure Roller, Paper Glider. My Old PB is listed below. Old DKjPB: (2:09.071) Lap 1: (0:44.292) Lap 2: (0:42.455) Lap 3: (0:42.324) Combo used: Daisy, Pipe Frame, Roller, Waddle Wing. Sub 2:07 is within reach easily for me although I rather take a spin on another track in the meantime.
When you do that mushroom trick to the glider and stuff it is so easy. All you do is hop early do another hop to the left and use your mushroom it’s so easy. But try not to hit the part where it goes high up on the hill because like you said there is so many ways that can go wrong!
This is the track I'm currently working on (insert frustrated sigh), and I don't have a lot to say about my success at this point. But I do really, really, really.... ...really, really, really, really... ...really, really, really, REALLY appreciate all the time you put into making this video especially. I can't imagine putting in all the effort it takes to master it AND THEN making a whole video about how to do it. Sometimes I just want it to be over and done, ya know? Endless thanks!
These videos have been helping me improve a lot! I think one thing that could help is a diagram of where your joystick should be while drifting. Between the footage looping, your narration, and trying to remember each name for the different kinds of techs, I tend to get pretty lost at times. Same thing during the full run if it's not too much work. (Could also list the steps for each section of the track too if you wanted.) Just a suggestion but I know that'd be a fair amount of work. Regardless thank you for posting these! :)
Yeah I’d love to do something like that, but to get a legit input display I’d need to mod my switch, which I can’t since I have a patched version. And I could just try and manually animate it myself, but it’d probably make the videos take way longer to edit, which I’m not opposed to necessarily but there’s something nice about being able to get videos out every week
One of my goals is to be within 10 seconds of world records, and I no longer feel too bad that I could barely do it on this one. I never realized how crazy this whole course is. Still hope to get sub 2:10 though and now I have a path to doing it!
Cant wait for the 200 Version,Im Currently 11th Europe on this track just because its my Favorite track of all time! Also thanks for the Tutorials in General,it helped me gain a few good times on for example dWW^^
Found your channel from the optimal kart build video. As a stats student, your combination of statistical methods and MK really excited me. What did you study in college?
Hey Bayesic this is an awesome vid my best time is 2:08.7 without the super bounce I’m rlly proud of that time and getting sub 2:09 took a while and I don’t do the super bounce and I also accidentally go on the glider on lap 3
@@Pommesarm Haha well, despite Bayesic's words, I personally like Baby Rosalina in the biddy with rollers! Add on something like paper glider and you got yourself a max MT level build!
Could you do a video purely on the timing of super bounce? I’m just still so bad at it! Also, do you know if the timing is different from 150cc to 200cc?
Interesting thought that you mentioned how niche the skill set for this track is in relation to improving your overall skill in the game. I pretty much exclusively play in open lounge so I’m curious what tracks you think would have the greatest impact for that style of game play?
When you say "open lounge," I'm assuming you mean the one where you have to actually go into discord and look for races? If so, then you're probably already a lot better at playing online than I am lol, but for people just starting out, I tend to recommend Electrodrome as a really good starting course to get better at the game because you can get good times PURELY by having good lines... well that and learning the mushroom shortcut But yeah most of the other courses either have too much track specific strats that you need to learn (like Mario Kart Stadium, DK Jungle, Music Park), are just generally too hard (Piranha Plant Slide, Rainbow Road), or too easy (Water Park). Electrodrome is one of the few courses that you can probably spend like 10 hours grinding out and immediately start dominating in worldwides
Honest answers that I’m just copying what one of the old world records did lol As for why they don’t go off that glider, I’m not really sure. The newest records do it with motion glider but it makes it much harder to set up for the triple ramp strat that immediately follows
Second video out of the last three, you didn't pick up10 coins during your run. On lap three, you had plenty of chances to do that, but chose not to. While in some places, your line might take you away from the ideal, in the temple, you drove right past them and all you needed was one. Why?
Like I said in the vid, the 8th coin is usually the middle one in front of the tree, but it's really difficult to grab that one without falling off the track after the super bounce. Every other coin is way too far out of the way to be worth grabbing (I grabbed the two temple coins on lap 1)
Liking that you're including quick demo's of how it looks when you do a section wrong, it really improves the overall video

Bayesic..... your videos are amazing! Been watching for a while and perfecting the craft of karting, thanks to your teachings; keep doing great work!

Probably the hardest track I’ve run into. Thx for this🙏🏻

lol yeah this track is really difficult to run
I did it! I beat the ghost! And I did it by a couple of seconds, which is enough to make me feel proud of myself in this case, thank you very much. 😁
Thanks for the tips! I struggle with this track a lot with the mushroom cut and bounce pad

@@Bayesic wario stadium? :D ready for some ramp strats haha
A lot of work coming my way!
ive been wanting to play this map at a higher level this will help a lot!

Very nice! 11th EU on that track is already really good so not sure how much help I'll be to you, but I'll do my best!
The fave track of my fave vtuber. Perfect timing.

Also stats haha
Oh boy I can't wait to hear you talk about your FAVORITE track next.
So next week is a rando 200cc track (Moo Moo Meadows), but AFTER that... god I'm gonna hate my life trying to learn it

Hahahaha we love you back baby
This damn track is KICKING MY ASS
You and me both lol
Super excited!
I just can't figure out how to do that super bounce! Hope this will help me!
I learned it by practicing with a higher MT level build first to get the feel down - maybe that’ll help!

"The hand of Satan." I am dead.

Do you live in the US? Did you know that there's weekly tourneys in ESA stores located in super Walmarts? You should enter, and win money!
Did not know that, thanks for letting me know haha
