Yup the 150cc wr is still the longest lasting wr in the game with it lasting over 892 days or 2.4 years before finally being beaten a year ago with 150cc and 200cc both being about .050 from the bks so this track on 150 and 200cc is pretty much almost max optimized making it one of the few most optimized tracks in the game
Yeah because it's essentially just drag racing then claiming a race is almost optimized, it's a cool design but I think it was just done poorly is the sad thing
As dull as this track is, I've learned so much about drifting around those barriers, all my times are just tumbling downwards. Finally broke the wiggling habit man
You’re the best! Thank you so much for this! I am a recent subscriber and have been binge watching your videos. Please keep them coming! Would love to see tutorials for Wild Woods and Mute City when you have time 😁🙌🏼
Thanks for another great tutorial. I have learned a lot from you. I'm a relative noob and because of you I've been improving very fast. One thing you don't mention about this particular track is, all of those cars and buses give you protection from the Blue Shell. Since I watched this video I often find myself in 1st place online, inevitably there's a Blue Shell coming for me. More than once I have been able to crash into a car or truck to minimize it and go on to win.
Thanks for the great video! Those are simply the benchmark for all MK Tutorials! What do you consider the hardest Ghost on 150 and 200cc? For 200cc I think it's either ribbon road or GBA Mario circuit (well known that 200cc ghost are a walk in the park for you haha). I'll give Toad's Turnpike a new try and will update under the comment if I can improve my time. Currently at 1:52.xxx with wario race bike and metal tires.
The hardest staff ghost in the game *by far* is Ribbon Road 200cc. In general the 200cc staff ghosts are much more challenging to beat than the 150cc ghosts, but I think in 150cc, Wario Stadium is probably the most difficult
@@bb4life141 It’s weird, the 150cc staff ghosts feel like they took people who are good at the game and said “why don’t you purposely not play this particularly well” When you get to 200 and it feels like they said “all right, you definitely want to try and make somebody throw at least one controller”
My pb is 2s behind urs with a shoddy attempt at using a bike. Gonna try your funky sneaker strat soon :). Will you ever upload your times to the records website? Wanna race against daddy Bayesic
I'm somewhat curious as to why the Sneeker, and not the Prancer, is the best outward that you found, but unless your memory is superhuman, I highly doubt the answer I'll get in 2024 would be as accurate as the answer I would have gotten if I had watched this video when it was first uploaded over 2 years ago. As there really isn't much else going for the course, especially after getting better traffic courses in Shroom Ridge and Moonview Highway (and I suppose Berlin Byways as well, but Berlin is only slightly better than Toad's Turnpike and primarily because of how each "lap" in Berlin is a different route), I thought trying to satisfy my curiosity on the Sneeker instead of the Prancer would be the best way to actually leave a comment (and silly me didn't even think of this the first time I watched, which was also in 2024).
Basically it's cause that's what my league mostly runs. Two things tho First, really the meat of these videos is supposed to be less about the staff ghosts and more about implementing a lot of the more advanced things in my PB, since you can use those strategies online and presumably that's why the vast majority of people are watching my vids (though I've probably not been good at communicating that in some of my recent videos) Second is that I'll be continuing to flesh out the 200cc tutorials periodically until I'm done with 150, and then I'll pretty much focus exclusively on 200cc content
Shaved 6 seconds of with minimal effort! Personally, I was using a mushroom on the starting line, then another on the first straight, which puts the surfboard in a less annoying spot, and then the third as I head to coins on the start line, maximum mushroom usage before gaining 10 coins.
It's definitely coming, but probably not for some time just cause of how I'm ordering the videos. It's my favorite track in the game though, so trust me when I say I'm definitely going to try and get to it sooner rather than later!
@@Bayesic It’s my favorite too! Can’t wait for it. Your videos are such a big help for me on 150. I am too scared for 200 😅. But yeah can’t wait for all your videos you do them so well
I definitely suggest switching the build out for Dry Bowser, Sneeker, and Slims. My best with the Waluigi build is a 1:49.9, almost a full 1.5 seconds slower
The world record for this track is extremely impressive. I think it's one of the longest standing records in the game
According to Alberto and Army it’s also the most optimized record in the game

Your videos are so helpful and point out stuff that is often counterintuitive. Thank you for making these
I only hope your reaction to various turnpike races is on here. No doubt great as always.
Knocked about 3 seconds off my pb, thanks!
This staff ghost was a breeze I absolutely love inward drift bikes

dude ironically enough, I main 200cc and I am still not able to beat the staff ghost on both tracks lmao

I honestly would’ve preferred Figure-8 Circuit cause at least that has off-road and shortcuts
The turnpike *sigh*
Okay the opening sigh was worth it.
Also, Ribbon Road when you have time too 😁
"Wario's gigantic derriere" 😂

Please do Toad's Turnpike 200cc. I can hear the staff ghost mocking me!
I'm pretty sure Twisted Mansion on 200cc is the only other track that uses inside bike but I havent kept up with those records but great video.
I believe Thimo also has 2nd ww on water park 200cc as a former wr

Is there a reason why you do a lot more 150 rather than 200cc tutorials? I find the 200cc staff ghosts are usually harder

my favourite track :)
I've been at this for half an hour and I still can't clear the first turn without bumping into the wall.
Why does WR record hop multiple times during the middle of lap 3 (14:20) is there any advantage to that?
As far as I know no
He does it in all laps, and only in the downward section.
Very suspicious. It actually seems deliberate.

I’m pretty sure you can use mushrooms more or less wherever you want on this course. Nice time save tho!
@@Bayesic nice time saves all round - I thought was done with mk8 but you got me back grinding again dude. Loving it

I nearly got close to the world record 😀 and Toad Turnpike are my favorite track
Not easy for me I keep hugging the corners way too much

Anyway, this one sucks trying to beat the 200cc staff ghost.
