Could you do a video discussing good line choice? I don’t know what consists a good one aside from close to the wall, or how to tell if I’m on a good line during a multiplayer race
It's honestly kind of hard to describe in general what good lines are beyond the basics that you mentioned like sticking close to walls and what not. At some point I'll probably try and do some viewer submitted race reviews or something like that, but in the mean time, I suggest checking out some of the Conquering the Staff Ghost videos that I just put out cause I run through every track in the game and beat all the staff ghosts without using any mushrooms. So that should give you at least an idea of what decent lines look like on each track
i know this is a super old comment, but if you’re still looking for advice on this, i’d recommend doing some research on racing lines in real life motorsport. the same basic principles for finding the optimum line apply in mario kart. obviously you have to adjust a bit for video game physics vs real life, but learning the basic logic of it helped me a lot!

I LOVE Bowser's Castle! It's the most BAD-ASS track in the entire game. The castle itself is gorgeous in the meanest of ways: the darkness, lasers, fireballs, giant spike ball and Bowser from Hell!! All that goes along with awesome guitar riffs... WOW.. That said, I haven't done a time run here in a long time. I did however notice from playing that sometimes I don't trick off that first ramp, I just thought I was doing something wrong. Glad to know I wasn't.
I have watched a lot of videos looking for tips, but mostly for online play. However, I recently started downloading other players' ghosts to see how they do it. That definitely helped me improve, although on most courses, I'm about 15 seconds behind the world record. You, Mr. Bayesic, helped me learn there was such a thing as soft drifting that I have been now practicing for a few weeks, along with a couple of other things. Please, PLEASE put together a tutorial on all the NISCs. I'm struggling mightily with the one you did in your How to Soft Drift video on Dragon Driftway. Either don't have enough velocity of fly into the wall on the other side. HELP!!

I don't plan on putting together an in depth guide for Dragon Driftway until some time next year, but I'll probably put together a guide specifically for that shortcut before then. In the mean time, here's a video that explains the cut pretty well

He covers three different methods for doing the shortcut, but only the last two avoid using any mushrooms. Note that his step 3 can basically be rephrased as "To build up the ultra mini turbo with non lightweight characters, you need to soft drift"
It's a pretty tricky shortcut to learn, but once you learn it, it's SUPER consistent. As in I pretty much always go for it when I'm racing online because I rarely fail it anymore

I've been prepping to cast a mario kart tournament with pre-chosen tracks, without having a switch or really much experience with the game at all. Your videos were a tremendous amount of help. ^^
I kinda already now how to play on this track but it never hurts for extra tips! you were saying paper glider when it was the cloud glider btw lol
I don’t know why I have such a fixation on saying cloud glider in all these videos. I literally never use it. Then I realize that I’m supposed to be saying cloud and start saying cloud after switching to paper

Isn't there a shortcut in the dry bowser section? I think I saw it in a shroomless shortcut compilation of yours. Doesn't it save time or is too complicated to execute?
