Maya I spoke to Gio a while back and I find you two very down to earth. I told him about my finding a Filipina and of my planned trip to meet her in December of this year. I asked Gio if we could get to a more personal level as any real honest advice would help a great deal as I plan on marrying this lady. She lives in the province of Misamis Occidental and I am honestly looking forward to seeing her and she is adamant that I meet her family. I honestly wanted Gios advice on finances etc.

Good interview Maya this gives me hope that I'll be able to find a good Filipina to but I live in a province area where not many girls speak English and I usually just keep to myself but I'm open to meeting a Filipina who is not my cousin that I'd like to get to know better in person. I'm not an online kind of person to really meet someone through any dating apps like that. I heard from Gio that you will have a lot of travel plans this year I hope all goes well with that. I am NOT a fan of LDR. It's NOT fair to the lady to be forced into a situation where she has no security or deep understanding that she will be with me. In this video we have Chee who is in an LDR now for FOUR years, and the boyfriend doesn't expect to retire in 2 more years maybe. So that's a 6 years LDR with NO PROMISE, NO SECURITY, or permanent solution to the relationship. At ANY TIME he can pull away, drop out, get another girl, do whatever and then SHE has wasted 6 or more years of WAITING. Its also true that SHE could interact with a man who comes to the Philippines who is READY to take her under his arms and provide, care, and provision for her RIGHT NOW.
In my opinion I believe in SHORT TERM LDR's, meaning, the LDR should ONLY be initiated when the MAN is 100% ready to move to the Philippines and make a relational commitment. Actually, I feel its better to FORGO the LDR all together and WAIT until a man is ready to retire and is ready to commit to moving to the Philippines permantly. Then the man should actually go to the Philippines, live there, and take his time and to know the culture, the people, and the women and MEET face to face. He could initially meet ONLINE while he is in the Philippines but that has a sole purpose of meeting in PERSON to get to know each other and learn about personality, needs, wants, desires, and ensure you are not getting scammed.
In my opinion any MAN that does a LDR for 6 years BEFORE retiring and making a commitment has MAJOR RELATIONAL ISSUES in his life. He acts LONELY, maybe just had a divorce, wants a companion ASAP as he isn't used to not being alone and isn't comfortable with himself. He doesn't seem to have healthy relational SKILLS and comes across VERY insecure and manipulative. I dont care how NICE he is, I dont care how pleasant and kind he is, I dont care if he THINKS he is doing the best thing for himself, the bottom line he is NOT READY for any type of relationship at this time and should NEVER EVER lead a woman on like this.
He is setting himself and her up for great disappointment. He is a BAD EXAMPLE for the rest of us ex-pats that are planning to come to the Philippines soon. Meaning, he is HURTING this woman's chances of a second chance with a foreigner IF he breaks up with her before retiring. This is HER FIRST foreigner relationship. Stop leading her on, stop making promises you CANT FULLFILL. IF you REALLY LOVE HER, either MARRY HER, make a commitment to her, or LEAVE. Let her grow and learn and decide what's best for her.
I think all to often thee young Filipina are desperate for MONEY and attention and will LINGER in these 6+ years LDRS because they are getting MONEY from the man, are getting attention from a man they perceive is HIGH VALUE to them, and its a status symbol among her family and friends. She doesn't have a clue what's a healthy relationship so she LINGERS in LIMBO for years, only seeing the man maybe 2-4 weeks A YEAR if she is lucky. It's NOT HEALTHY in my opinion to be doing this. Why people cant learn to WAIT until they are ready is mind boggling to me.
IMHO letting her go is the RIGHT thing to do. There are literally hundreds of thousands of beautiful Filipina women and will be waiting for you in 2 years when you are ready to settle down. Give this woman her freedom, give her her sanity, give her the opportunity to find a man NOW who is already in the Philippines and ready to really LOVE and GROW with her. Don't treat her like trash and force her to LINGER for 6 years, its simply WRONG and DESTRUCTIVE and doesn't promote HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
