Chicken feet...masarap yan Jared, rich in collagen.
I've tried dried fish and the bbq chicken intestine on a stick but not sure I would try chicken feet. The parl you started at was Ayaya Triangle Gardens. It's been 5 months since I was last in the Phils but will head back in February.
My favorite chicken feet is Hen Lin’s chicken feet with pandan rice. It’s mostly the chicken’s soft feet skins & most Chinese resto have them like Hap Chan, North Park, Luk Yuen & Hen Lin (just a small food stall inside malls or supermarkets).
Go to Taft Avenue, or Roxas Blvd, or back to Quiapo.. tons of them, w different varieties, from bad to really good.. your Makati spots are too posh to catch them, chicken feet are found in the wild (open space) 😁
braised chicken feet is a side dish like dimsums and available only in chinese restaurants. goes well with chili sauce. most southeast and east asians enjoys it. my family always have them when dining in chinese restos. xenophobia is part of the reason westerners feel adamant about it but it's good they miss out on certain gastronomic delights we can only enjoy
You should try or you may find it in manila (like divisoria, quiapo, malate), quezon city (any bbq stall) or pasay city, there you can find the chicken feet, makati city is a upper class and more of business district city so you can rarely find chicken feet.
Paa ng manok or adidas is so far the cheapest collagen ever. Very good for the skin and for those suffering from joint pains like arthritis ciz it serves as gel to the joints.
It depends on the place? There are some places you can see, inihaw na paa ng manok, go to tondo, manila or to caloocan, other cities in metromanila there are several barbecue streetfood stalls
Cook it like adobo. Boil the feet first to clean it up, after cleaning put soy sauce, black pepper then marinate for two hours or more. Sauté garlic onions crushed black pepper then those chicken feet cover after then put vinegar spoon of brown sugar and cook untill liquid is all gone the bigger the feet. The better.
Chicken feet by itself is just a snack street food. Kaya d ka mabubusog. It is a dimsum in a Chinese restaurant. A good chicken feet is if it is really tender and you easily spit the bones all cleaned up. Just the thought of it is mouth watering for me. Naglalaway ako. 😀🤣
Chicken feet are a type of "cocktail tidbits" a.k.a. "alcoholic beverage drinkers' food". In Tagálog, "cocktail tidbits" are known as "pulútan". I've seen crayfish being eaten as cocktail tidbits in Louisiana, USA. I've also seen Italians eat a big cut of beef as cocktail tidbits.
Yeah, that’s definitely not gonna be in the city. Gotta head for the provinces for that. I had the best street food at my parents hometown of Mangaldan, Pangasinan! But I’m sure all the provinces will have better street food than in the big city. Your Tagalog is impeccable, but might wanna start learning another dialect lol
The difference between the North Park chicken feet versus the one you are looking for (street food) is that the North Park one is boiled until is too soft and manageable to eat, and the street food one is a little tougher to eat because they don't usually boil them first but directly cooked in a grill (BBQ).
Lol! Andaming chicken parts, pero walang Adidas. You should've gone to Quiapo. There's a place with tons of street food. The best part of Adidas is that fleshy cartilagey foot pad. And yes, North Park is Chinese. Traditional Pinoy Adidas is just grilled over flame. And only sauced with soy, calamansi and chili. Hope you enjoy the Ph!
Its hard to find the chicken feet in ayala area where did you search because that place is surrounded of building its better you go outside of ayala makati for sure you find the chicken feet
Nice vid jared. it's easier to ask "saan may ihawan (or ihaw-ihaw) dito yung may paa ng manok?" rather than just chicken feet because there's so many chicken feet dishes here.
Chicken Feet or ADIDAS (since it resembles the adidas logo) is NOT a common street food and NOT readily available. However, Chinese Restaurants especially in Binondo (China Town) would most likely offer it. One Chinese Restaurant though that offers Chickan Feer for sure is HA YUAN.
super boney food and its a chinese influence and normally partnered with cold beer! Masarap sa inuman and you tend to drink more and isnt for filling... lol
It is hard to find people selling adidas now in the Philippines. Even inside the mall you can find lugaw with adidas at the food court.
I'm really surprised at how some people just weren't too familiar with the term Adidas or when they'd tell you to go to the market when asked for chicken feet at a literal street food area, assuming you'd want the raw ones. You should come to the provinces, and they'll be everywhere.
It's not because they don't know; it's because the person asking them is a foreigner. They were caught off guard, thinking that a foreigner wouldn't be referring to chicken feet.
Nice vid Jared, I have seen chicken feet at dim sum, I didn’t know they were in Filipinos. Btw, how safe Is Filipinos for Americans? My wife and I would like to visit soon.
Wow, the lengths u went for to find adidas 🤯 anyway, I agree with ur analysis that’s why I personally don’t prefer them. People here just eat it for collagen. Also lol’d at durieta 😂 quite literally my name
What the hell is "Adidis"? I think that guy was purposefully trying to deceive you to make you look stupid when you ask others the next time. You were right the first time, it is "adidas", so named after the shoe brand logo's resemblance (they say) to the fingers of the chicken's claw.

North Park is a Filipino food chain. They serve Chinese-inspired noodle/dimsum that caters to the Filipino palate.

I used to eat all parts of the chicken underneath the intersection of EDSA and South Super Highway, just outside Magallanes Village.
You can find them at the HENLIN store at any SM Mall

yehey! success! tagumpay!
0:51 if you see the classic adidas logo, it is more clear why it is called like that ;)
Come to the provinces in Cebu bro. We all eat chicken feet all the time. No big deal 😂
North Park is a franchise fastfood chain. More of Chinese food but some in the menu are similar to Korean delicasies.
At the US go to any Chinatown restaurants you can order chicken feet, it's been around for 100 yrs ever since Chinese came to America

*_chicken feet or adidas is one of my favorite, specially when i cooked adobo feet. its good for the skin because its collagen!_*
It is really hard to find a chicken feet (adidas) because few people eating it maybe in a Chinese restaurant they cook it
Nice adventure Jared. You should try the pinoy style adobong addidas chicken feet and eating it with your bare hands.

Jared, Calamansi is also called CALAMONDIN.
The difference between the North Park chicken feet versus the one you are looking for (street food) is that the North Park one is boiled until is too soft and manageable to eat, and the street food one is a little tougher to eat because they don't usually boil them first but directly cooked in a grill (BBQ).

Sa Chinese restaurant yan chicken feet . Madarap yun. Kung sa street food BBQ yun .
Chicken feets are solid when paired with alcohol drinks.
Hott Asia Bazaar in Makati Ave? but Jared needs a guide to go over there and now it looks like a rundown place.

It is hard to find people selling adidas now in the Philippines.
Even inside the mall you can find lugaw with adidas at the food court.

Nice vid Jared, I have seen chicken feet at dim sum, I didn’t know they were in Filipinos.
Btw, how safe Is Filipinos for Americans? My wife and I would like to visit soon.
Very safe, only big trouble is you get overpriced on the necessities like transmute there but they’ll overprice by like 2-3$😂
jared try ADOBO CHICKEN FEET
Poor Jared. 😢
Makati lookin' like NYC/Pittsburgh! ...Hehe Go to Glorietta and mingle with the peepz LOL
❤❤❤
kaya paba kuya jared!? hahahaha
I love adidas too, hahaha, maligaw ligaw ka pa sa kahahanap Jared haha, enjoy your chicken feet ❤
Sarap nyan pulutan hahahaha tapos spicy pa
Rich in collagen
Masarap Yan. Adobo
Wow, the lengths u went for to find adidas 🤯 anyway, I agree with ur analysis that’s why I personally don’t prefer them. People here just eat it for collagen.
Also lol’d at durieta 😂 quite literally my name
jajaja adidas chicken very good
I love chicken feet, I cooked it everyday, but here in the you can buy anywhere 😂😂😂, but I don't think it is clean 😂😂😂, so I probably cooked it ❤❤😂😂
Successful
Masarap yan
What the hell is "Adidis"? I think that guy was purposefully trying to deceive you to make you look stupid when you ask others the next time. You were right the first time, it is "adidas", so named after the shoe brand logo's resemblance (they say) to the fingers of the chicken's claw.
That's what sometimes we need to try other food,, bka kc humantong tayo sa kahirapan at kailangan na ting humarap sa katotohanan para lng makasurvive😅
Im filipino but im not a fan of adidas, i'd prefer chinese chicken feet because of all the aromatics they use when preparing it.
