17:08 Many have attempted the Trials in order to gain access to Kingdom Valley, but Rouge and Shadow are exceptions for a reason.
They used an alternate route to get there, which is interesting. One of the cooler things of 06 is their journeys differ due to their different statuses. Shadow constantly have workarounds to lots of BS the others have to deal with, and it's a nice showcase of his intelligence.
Say what u want bout the game- shadows story in this game feels like a great conclusion to his whole arc

But 06 is probably one of my favorite just because of how free I used to feel while playing it! 😁 it’s definitely not the worst sonic game for sure!

I love shadow's story on the sonic the hedgehog 2006 video game and I can't wait to see shadow in sonic movie 3 also I hope I've made my comment in time!

Despite all the attempts Mephiles made to convince Shadow to betray humanity, he never let his guard down or showed doubt, because he had already been through that countless times in other games and through the promise of Maria or the experiences lived in the game bearing his name, he knew that defending the Earth was his purpose. The last sentence symbolizes that. He was going to stand by humanity until it grew tired of him, and if they fought, then he was going to respond. I believe Sonic 2006 offered us a much-needed glimpse into Shadow's character, despite the poor planning and the problems that everyone knows plagued the game's development.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (movie) should be a sonic vs shadow vs silver, just like sonic 06

Watching this as research for my partial 06 fan rewrite (my version of the final story where the murder doesn’t happen because Sonic deserves so much better - and my version involves Shadow heavily because I know he fought Mephiles directly). Anyway the earbuds I was using broke right after the part of this where Mephiles was introduced…demon not only canonically killed my hero but also broke my earbuds.

Am I the only one who, when watching scenes from Shadow in 2006, encounters moments like these where Shadow's voice changes to a deeper and unfitting tone? It seems to be the same actor, but it's as if he forgets to maintain his voice tone while shouting... I think it's the only game where Shadow speaks like that.

I always come back and watch the final boss and ending after playing through Shadow's story in P-06/Knights of Kronos, and it's always shocking to remember JUST how unfinished base 06 was. That cutscene just before you fight Mephiles for the second time especially, God those awful unpolished twitchy motion capture performances and the way the cutscenes in this game always do that low weird fade where it gets super saturated as it fades to black at the end, that was something common to see on the SEGA Saturn of all things.
I really hope one day we get a professionally produced documentary where they go into SEGA and SonicTeam and interview the project leads who worked on this project, a deep dive learning and going over exactly what happened during development, because there are so many conflicting stories and so much we're not entirely sure of. Obviously SonicTeam's ambition clashed hard with SEGA's schedule, it always has since the SEGA and Sammy merged in the early 2000s, but there's so much more that had to have gone wrong...
This is the first Xbox 360 and Sonic game that I have ever played
I dont remember the graphics to be like this... when i had memory of the game my favorite part was shadow (Like 10 years ago) i remember seeing every particle in the game and every hair of the hedgehog
