I understand why people did not like this game however i think it did a lot of great things and the OST is straight fire. I enjoyed this game for what it was.
That's generally a thing of the sonic games. While the gameplay itself can be a hit or miss (with 06 and Boom definitely being misses), the music is always great. Maybe not every single track, but there is always a nugget or two to find in each game.
well when the game adds a human princess kissing a dead blue hedgehog top it off with horrible game breaking bugs, and a lackluster sonic storyline sonic's story is the least entertaining the OST is 10/10 though
4:50 and 5:12 I find it interesting how even when everyone else is gathering around dead Sonic, Shadow initially hangs back and keeps his distance. He doesn't utter a word or even show shock in his face; he only closes his eyes and remains stoic and silent as if in resignation, as if seeing death was something all too familiar to him. 6:46 Then when Amy starts crying, he turns away while everyone else just hangs their heads, as if witnessing this open display of grief was too uncomfortable for him. These little details are subtle but effective, and I love how they capture Shadow's personality and show he's the kind of person who would likely be awkward at funerals, neither able to join in on openly sharing grief with others nor able to offer comfort to those grieving around him. Not necessarily because he's heartless, but because it's just his personality.
Yeah, Shadow is in no way heartless. His worst fears have come up to surface and is forced to look at death in the face once again. He wasn't able to save the people he was closest to, or anyone. It is the reason why he remains distant. He also gives limited eye contact to people (unless it was in his interest or was focused on eliminating the threat) because he didn't want to see or think about what could be the fate of his friends like when he saw Maria die in front of him - his pure, raw emotions are channeled through his actions and he was aware of how dangerous he can be around to those in his circle. Shadow's shadow was the cause of Sonic's death and he couldn't do anything to save him - the open display of mourning only hurts him more because he wasn't able to "make people happy". Shadow is very compassionate - he just could not express it so openly in fear of intimacy and risk reliving the hurt.

And multiple super attack, hell even some execution attacks even kinda like the high damage devil bringer attacks from DMC but with no prompts? One day SEGA, you’ll do us good

They did, Well not SEGA, a fan and his team made a remake called Project 06. It fixed almost all the bugs aswell as remastering all graphic and gameplay details
Say what you will about Sonic 06, but I loved this game. It was my introduction to the world of Sonic the Hedgehog, I enjoyed the storylines(for the most part, Elise was always weird), I enjoyed the music, but while the Princess was weird, the ending that they have at the very end is heartbreaking, and the song only adds to it.
If they had cut out the weird romance and just made the two very good friends, it would have completely changed how most people perceived the story. And yeah, that ending of them saying goodbye is still really sad. 😢

Actually it was Microsoft's fault, they had an agreement about this game and Sega didn't have much time to develop this game and I'm not pretty sure but I remember that in that time they were working in other sonic game so you can imagine how hard It was
I'm pretty sure that if they did a story revision, things would have been so much more polished. Such as: *Sonic an Elise would have choose not to extinguish the flame and instead found a way to destroy Solaris withour further disrupting the timestream (Which was already turbulent from all the time traveling done) *Sonic and Blaze would've recognized each other after Rush. Silver would have told Sonic about her sacrifice to stop Iblis much to the blue blur's sadness. Maybe she reunites with them in the epilogue and we get an explaination on how she met Silver. *Silver would depart back to his future in the ending (not without giving Sonic and Shadow a hanshake), the status of his future left ambiguous.
23:45 I appreciate how, despite hating his guts, Eggman damn well respects Sonic's abilities and has confidence in him. That nod tells you everything you need to know.
I like the no-nonsense Dr Robotnic of this game. In my opinion that made this Eggman the most terrifying of them all. Sure he has that over the top cartoony look, and it borders on uncanny valley, but his "business professional" personality pulls it off and makes him scary.
It's a really underrated scene. It's the first time we've ever seen Sonic's company mourn him at devastation. The first 3 cry out for him, Silver holds deep regret, Rouge and Omega show silent grief as well while Shadow stands behind to not let any deep emotions show out. Of course, Eggman doesn't focus much on him either but still acknowledges the cost of the events. The only other Sonic game to have a moment like this after 06 was Frontiers, which took another great 15 years.
Sonic sure is lucky to have his friends save him with the power of the chaos emeralds and this final boss battle of the 2006 sonic game is just fantastic!

I'm pretty sure it's stated in an interview or something along those lines that Shadow and Sonic are the only ones to remember Solaris due to their expirence with the Super Forms. Not too sure how accurate that is though.
I'm not sure how Shadow's personality changed from then to now; he wasn't always an edgelord. He just doesn't know how to express his concern knowing he had a dreadful past- and that he pledged to both Amy and Maria. He's the kind to protect his loved ones and not let them endure the same thing he experienced, he also guards what's precious to them (that could be humanity or anything else), and now his character has been butchered. His portrayals nowadays is him being a total jerk but he was not the way he is back then. I really hope they bring back this Shadow in the next games

Broken Game or not the fact that this was the last Major Game to feature the rest of the cast as Playable (Minus Team Chaotix Cream Big and Metal Sonic) its a great sendoff for them and also this was a great way to sign off the rest of the 4kidz cast (After 06 we Black Knight and Unleashed which only had Jason Dan Bella Mike and Lisa as the only returning VA's)

The fact this final boss, like Metal Overlord in Sonic Heroes, needed THREE Super Transformation characters to fight, and yet, can actually DAMAGE them, is all-time crazy.
This game was incredible few glitch fixes and update to the storyline. Would have been flawless. They def have to keep the Chaos Powers in future games

Central Role: Elise plays a central role in the plot of Sonic '06, making her an essential character in the game's narrative. 4. Strong-Willed: She exhibits determination and strength of character in her efforts to protect her kingdom. 5. Kind Hearted: Elise's kindness and compassion are traits that endear her to some fans. 6. Brigade I always liked Elise she reminds me of Princess Zelda but in Sonic Style and she's better than Peach Peach. I would like to see her reunite with The Sonic Gang in the newest Sonic Videogames and this time have her meet Cream and Cheese they never got the chance to meet.
This entire last part of the game proves what Sonic 06's worth really was meant to be. Beyond the mess it's known for, Sonic 06 is rather a bigger deal and put a lingering staple to the series. I swear, if this game was remade from the ground up with the same concepts, music, and story...it could be one of the best Sonic games to date. SEGA, Sonic Team...don't be afraid to try again. Second chances are worth it.
Out of everything in this game, I always like to play the last episode at sundown. Why it is it's because I find it epic playing the last episode at the night time while this part of the game is dark and tense.
Its too bad that this game made the misteps that it did with some of story elements and gameplay mechanics, because this ending would've been the cherry on top to what SHOULD'VE been one of the greatest video games of all-time 😭
The thing is I don't think people would've minded the romance between Sonic and Elise as much if 1. Elise was actually her own, developed character and 2. Elise was also a Mobian, NOT a human. Which is a shame because Elise could've been a good chatacter and potential love interest for Sonic if they gave more attention to their 'sheltered, well-mannered girl meets rebellious, free-spirited guy and they both learn from one another' thing going on, but their whole "relationship" falls flat and comes across as weird because she's a full grown human woman giving heart eyes to a talking blue hedgehog.
The part at 37:49 always brings a tear to my eye. Sure the infamous kiss scene may have given the game a bad rep alongside the bugs and glitches aside it, but this shot here, from the feather flying up past Sonic's face, to him gazing at the moon never fails to get me emotional, Sonic and Elise's friendship may have been weird, but after the flame was blown out, it was like friends saying goodbye to each other, as Elise doesn't remember the events of 06 after, whilst Sonic still does, and it's still a bittersweet ending, as this would also be the last time we saw the complete 4Kids cast together for something outside of X, and the music was just the cherry on top, this game and ending could have been done right if the team was just given enough time to patch things, write the story better.
Time and better resource management, if they had both of these this game would’ve been a fucken masterpiece for it’s time. Too bad we’ll never get the same caliber of story telling like this again. Frontiers is decent, definitely the best in a while, but sweet Jesus does it have its flaws. Idk, I’m old now

In my opinion, this fight would have been better if Shadow went to the past, Sonic in the present and Silver in the future because Eggman said Solaris was apart of the past present and future
I just wish this game was properly made and made Elise either an anthropomorphic creature or a full on animal like Somic, Knuckles, Tails, and the others. If that was the case, people would have one less thing to complain about this game. Also, like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, this game should have been worked on more so there were no glitches and/or bugs that would interfere with gameplay. I also don't know why people hate Eggman's design in this game so much. Its a unique take on his usual character design and is really interesting to me.
Shadow had the deepest reaction to Sonic’s death for me. Their relationship development over the years is the best! Also, this is the best version of Shadow they have done to date. Sonic prime is a close second.

I really liked the Final Episode back when I played it as a kid. We can finally play as all of the characters once more. Although I don't like Rouge clamping on the rocks and you can't even unstick her because I have to touch the water or I have to find a flat surface for Rouge to unstick and stop climbing that rocks. The same thing happens on Knuckles.

Regardless of 06's events being wiped from existence they still happened with multiple characters having faint memories of it. Silver and blaze's interaction in Colors DS about being familiar with eachother and having a feeling they've met before is a prime example.

I'm pretty sure that if they did a story revision, things would have been so much more polished. Such as:
*Sonic an Elise would have choose not to extinguish the flame and instead found a way to destroy Solaris withour further disrupting the timestream (Which was already turbulent from all the time traveling done)
*Sonic and Blaze would've recognized each other after Rush. Silver would have told Sonic about her sacrifice to stop Iblis much to the blue blur's sadness. Maybe she reunites with them in the epilogue and we get an explaination on how she met Silver.
*Silver would depart back to his future in the ending (not without giving Sonic and Shadow a hanshake), the status of his future left ambiguous.

I like the no-nonsense Dr Robotnic of this game. In my opinion that made this Eggman the most terrifying of them all.
Sure he has that over the top cartoony look, and it borders on uncanny valley, but his "business professional" personality pulls it off and makes him scary.
4:45 no one mentions this scene. It's so haunting and depressing and I love it's atmosphere
It's a really underrated scene. It's the first time we've ever seen Sonic's company mourn him at devastation. The first 3 cry out for him, Silver holds deep regret, Rouge and Omega show silent grief as well while Shadow stands behind to not let any deep emotions show out. Of course, Eggman doesn't focus much on him either but still acknowledges the cost of the events. The only other Sonic game to have a moment like this after 06 was Frontiers, which took another great 15 years.
Honestly, if you got this far in Sonic 06, this is for sure the best part of the game.

Cool and I do believe it's possible Shadow and Sonic act the way they do now is because Shadow blames himself for what happened and he is distancing himself from his friends because he failed to stop Mephiles in time and Sonic is still hurt over the loss of Chip if these two things are the cause of it it would make total sense.

I'm not sure how Shadow's personality changed from then to now; he wasn't always an edgelord. He just doesn't know how to express his concern knowing he had a dreadful past- and that he pledged to both Amy and Maria. He's the kind to protect his loved ones and not let them endure the same thing he experienced, he also guards what's precious to them (that could be humanity or anything else), and now his character has been butchered. His portrayals nowadays is him being a total jerk but he was not the way he is back then. I really hope they bring back this Shadow in the next games

Broken Game or not the fact that this was the last Major Game to feature the rest of the cast as Playable (Minus Team Chaotix Cream Big and Metal Sonic) its a great sendoff for them and also this was a great way to sign off the rest of the 4kidz cast (After 06 we Black Knight and Unleashed which only had Jason Dan Bella Mike and Lisa as the only returning VA's)

I swear every time I get to this part of Silver's final stage, the game glitches up
I know this game sucks, but you can't say that the final boss sucks it was amazing.
This entire last part of the game proves what Sonic 06's worth really was meant to be. Beyond the mess it's known for, Sonic 06 is rather a bigger deal and put a lingering staple to the series. I swear, if this game was remade from the ground up with the same concepts, music, and story...it could be one of the best Sonic games to date.
SEGA, Sonic Team...don't be afraid to try again. Second chances are worth it.

Out of everything in this game, I always like to play the last episode at sundown. Why it is it's because I find it epic playing the last episode at the night time while this part of the game is dark and tense.
If sonic 07 was the game, then it would’ve been better. Bug fixes and updated Eggman would’ve been better.

The thing is I don't think people would've minded the romance between Sonic and Elise as much if 1. Elise was actually her own, developed character and 2. Elise was also a Mobian, NOT a human. Which is a shame because Elise could've been a good chatacter and potential love interest for Sonic if they gave more attention to their 'sheltered, well-mannered girl meets rebellious, free-spirited guy and they both learn from one another' thing going on, but their whole "relationship" falls flat and comes across as weird because she's a full grown human woman giving heart eyes to a talking blue hedgehog.

The part at 37:49 always brings a tear to my eye.
Sure the infamous kiss scene may have given the game a bad rep alongside the bugs and glitches aside it, but this shot here, from the feather flying up past Sonic's face, to him gazing at the moon never fails to get me emotional, Sonic and Elise's friendship may have been weird, but after the flame was blown out, it was like friends saying goodbye to each other, as Elise doesn't remember the events of 06 after, whilst Sonic still does, and it's still a bittersweet ending, as this would also be the last time we saw the complete 4Kids cast together for something outside of X, and the music was just the cherry on top, this game and ending could have been done right if the team was just given enough time to patch things, write the story better.

If that was the case, people would have one less thing to complain about this game. I also don't know why people hate Eggman's design in this game so much. Its a unique take on his usual character design and is really interesting to me.

I really liked the Final Episode back when I played it as a kid. We can finally play as all of the characters once more. Although I don't like Rouge clamping on the rocks and you can't even unstick her because I have to touch the water or I have to find a flat surface for Rouge to unstick and stop climbing that rocks. The same thing happens on Knuckles.
For the next Sonic game after Frontiers, they need to do a final battle like this.

The ending, where they blow out Solaris, is why I like to think of this game as non-canon.
Regardless of 06's events being wiped from existence they still happened with multiple characters having faint memories of it. Silver and blaze's interaction in Colors DS about being familiar with eachother and having a feeling they've met before is a prime example.
