This game was so far ahead of its time.
This game had very good graphics, I even dare to say that it surpasses many current games, look at its cinematics it even looks like a movie, look at how sonic's shoes shine and you can see them as a mirror, my god what a beautiful game

@@MarianoDeluxe frontiers has better graphics there’s no doubt in that department at all, but not only is it not THAT much better than unleashed (frontiers looks like early gen ps4 / Xbox one game), the artstyle is very bland and uninspiring. Frontiers is definitely a step in the right direction but the conversation surrounding the game is going to change DRASTICALLY over the next couple years. Get ready for the “frontiers wasn’t good actually” video essays. I think it’s just okay. It’s the best we’ve gotten in years which is good but it doesn’t excuse the fact that for 5 years they have a 7/10 game.

This game is decade year old, but I still love it in every aspect of it. Especially the soundtracks.
It's not perfect, but see how much passion the team poured in creating this amazing game. It's ahead of its time.
It tried to be like adventure games with hub worlds , tornado,sections ,super sonic being final boss exclusive and the finale being epic . And this game still does enought to stand out on its own and i love that about it

Storybeat/Atmosphere wise definitly, the music really ties it all together! Gameplay wise I wouldn't call it the best boss from the Sonic series but it is up there!

The FPS boost made it feel like it's all real!!!! I almost had my heart racing over how intense it is and I love it!!!! I only own the Wii version though!!! Would love to try it on the Xbox version soon.

Go for it - it’s worth it on so many levels. No frame drops, gorgeous visuals. Might be a little tough to get the hang of first, but it’s fun when you nail it

Unleashed is like a million times better than Forces. I can’t believe Sonic Team created such a disappointment of a game.

@@nemi9217 both games play almost exactly the same, aside from the werehog and classic mechanics, but i think unleashed gets it done better
@@dramigo3024 problem with Unleashed is that the Werehog mode was not executed well at all, it takes like 15-20+ minutes to complete each level on the first playthrough and Werehog takes up 2/3 of the gameplay. The beat-em-up style just doesn’t feel as good or satisfying as most other things in the genre, either. It’s a slog for most people, which is why it wasn’t well-received and most people only reminisce the non-werehog portions of the game. Classic Sonic at least was only half the game, and it didn’t feel like a complete momentum killer. Not as polished as the Classic games, including the level design being a big downgrade, but it still felt decent

Sonic Unleashed is the last time Sega really innovated out of necessity like Adventure. Shadow Gens and Frontiers don’t have that sauce this game did. 06, Adventure 2 and Unleashed had the best stories by far from all the others.

@@FujiMezu when the fight consists of slowly moving towards the boss for a qte. An alright speed section. And then repeat. Followed by a dragged out Super Sonic section and a QTE Dark Gaia can go sit in the corner with the other mediocre boost bosses... though come to think of it. All the Super Sonic fights are pretty mundane.

@@JayceCH. not lame as heck. The Chip part of the fight is actually better imo since u get to fight dark Gaia personally instead of QTEs. The Sonic section is almost the same so it doesn’t really matter. Both Super Sonic sections are a bit lame tho. One is just hit the targets, the other is boost. I’d say the Wii/PS2 version beats this version out just a bit.

I’ll be honest I don’t mind the sonic live action movies but imo they should have went with the animation route and they should hire the team that animated the intro and the final boss for sonic unleashed

Sonic's boost might be a chaos power after all since chip is able to use it after getting all the chaos emeralds. this isn't hard proof but that's a pretty interesting coincidence.
Anyone notice the thing in the cutscene where Eggman's ordering Dark Gaia to attack that just to the right of Eggman himself sits a Sega Dreamcast? Nice little nod to the famed and beloved Dreamcast era.

Bro I found this the easiest part of the whole fight. Like dude, seriously, the pre Sonic parts with the Chip sections were the ones that gave me nightmares. The controls still being slippery (as per it being a boost game) and the fuckton of obstacles just scare me man.

For a game released in 2008, these CGI cutscenes are just way ahead of its time. There's no doubt SEGA has made its greatest masterpiece. Too bad future games tarnished Sonic's legacy *cough* Forces

Oh no, Dark Gaia has awaken
For the first phase what happened when I did this final boss was I didn’t have any time to hang around in the last speed section and dark Gaia hit me before I could get to the ramp and it angers me so much until I finally got it and then in phase 2 it stressed me out WAY less than phase 1. The only thing that was annoying was dark Gaia attacking while I attack its tentacles and it killed me a few times and for the last part I managed to not frick up any button press timings for the final QTE of the entire game. In fact I prefer the Wii version of this final boss because of all that.
this was the only game where super sonic had a health bar (mainline anyway)
