I love how Sonic is always portrayed as a cool, and nice guy that's always wanting to do good and help people, but then upon first seeing an aggressive Phoenix, he decided there's no better idea than to uppercut the bird on its stomach, punch its face, and then slam it face first, into the ground. Just a year later after this original comment, I've realized that Sonic technically kills this creature. The fact that it regenerates its health means Sonic was SO pissed he murdered it multiple times before returning it to normal. That's...not the Sonic I know, but that is just one of the reasons I love the Werehog, he goes with EVERYTHING he has, no mercy for anyone.
Well, the game states that, during the night, Dark Gaia's energy brings out the negativity from within people, so maybe that explains why Sonic is so much more violent in Werehog form.

I like how these bosses let you go at your own pace making the windows very open most of the time. Also love the Egg Beetle that lets you throw it around vs the Egg Lancer that shoots at your feet. I also now notice how simple yet different each boss is. every sonic day boss seems to just a redone version of the first Egg beetle but each itteration has it's own challenge with Devil ray playing more like a bullet hell and Lancer being a more challenge testing platformer. The werehog bosses have a little more room to play and rely on the mechanics given used in different ways. Egg Cauldron is also there lol. Of course after that, everything is just it's own beauty.
Something i love about the wii version is the first two phases of the boss battle, gaia collussus throwing hands with dark gaia is one of the most epic confrontations i have ever saw
I love the concept of the Dark Gaia Phoenix coming back to life after you beat it up. Also, last I recall, the cutscene after Chip gets his memories back is him and Sonic eating Ice Cream on a sunset. Egg Beetle also used to scare me as a kid for no absolute reason.

I'm so glad that Sonic Unleashed is one of those games that a lot of people eventually agreed was really good. As a long time sonic fan, I genuinely think a lot of the modern sonic games are really good. There are definitely some stinkers but games like Unleashed and Generations are games that just ooze personality

The game (still) runs at 880x720p. Doesn't sound very demanding to me. It just sounds like the Xbox 360 was just too weak. The fact that the PS3 could go up to 60fps (in a select few parts) goes to show how much more powerful it was than the 360.
I played the Wii version and even in the stages where a ton of things were happening there were really no problem. I am actually curious how it looks so friggin great. The developpers were nothing short of amazing.
So from what I gathered people hate this game because one there are humans other than Robotnik and two the Werehog segments and three Robotnik is portrayed more on the goofy side
I love Sonic's Werehog form and I wish they bring back that form in some way. Maybe introduce a new race that are similar to the Werehog form. Maybe even do a trio of classic monster creatures like along with a Werehog include a vampire and a Frankenstein character.
You know i get sonic. Having super speed abd such a beautiful/fun world to explore would also never get boring for me. Like the arena for the beetle is a wooden highway up in giant trees. How fun would it be to just run around there and enjoy the view

He made such a big fuss about acquiring the Emeralds to power a space laser to coerce the world's surrender, only to get the Emeralds in one fell swoop this time, making his own laser? Like his execution is on point, if only he had some follow through.

That nintendo switch could of been added this year or last year in a recent update to the game. We dont know when it was added for sure.
If they ever remaster this game they NEED to add elements from both versions. Like use this version as the base but swap the UI for the wii version and swap the gaia colossus played sections for the wii one and add both versions of the super sonic segments

The whole Dark Gaia/Perfect Dark Gaia Final Boss would look amazing in live action
