Yeah, I realized that when I first did the later White Defender and Grey Prince Zote fights. Those are like the two fights where the lifeblood charms help a lot as they do so much damage
Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that. It adds 40% of your max health, rounded up. So at 5 max you get 2 extra, 6 and 7 get 3, 8-10 get 4, and 11 gets 5.
Grubberfly’s elegy is an amazing charm if you don’t take hits. That 50% nail damage on projectiles is applied on top of your nail damage if you strike with both. Pair that with strength and quick slash and you have some insane damage output.
@@zenu8830 same. I honestly used that charm a few times because i had no idea what else would fit better and it actually somehow helped me a bit before getting more charms and further progressing in general
Elegy is at least good for when you're doing the Delicate Flower quest. Long-range damage that doesn't cost soul to take out enemies and avoid the risk of damage.
Fury of the Fallen can be greatly improved by spending a few minutes preparing and getting lifeblood from cocoons nearby stag stations, most notably the one in kings pass and the one in greenpath.
Steady Body was incredibly helpful to me early game when I was still learning. I was getting tired of getting knocked into obstacles or having my platforming flow fucked up. I grew out of Steady Body, but I'll always have a soft spot for it.
Same. I still use it in deepnest, at that one section, when I'm nail pogoing off those centipede feckers to get at a piece of vessel fragment. I suck at nail pogoing, especially vertically up a moving enemy and steady body stops me bouncing off into the void.
You bless us with your presence, you spend two weeks (presumably) to work on this video, you come back after centuries, just to do my boy gathering swarm like that?!
Humorously he put Elegy and Fury next to each other when they have a combo: Equipping both lets Elegy work again at 1 health with increased damage. While still not particularly efficient, it is a good combo to use during the Delicate Flower quest, since you cant get hit anyway and attacking from a range without using any SOUL is a lot more valuable.
It’s also pretty good for fighting, steadybody isn’t really a forgettable charm, the charm can allow you to get extra hits in on bosses like nkg without the worry of crashing into his flames as such, improving your dps against bosses, it’s S tier (Theres also a video on the hk disc showing how good it is.) you’d do a lot more damage with SB than you would upstriking as well, this comment on the discord should explain why it’s good better than I can tho lol. “Steady Body is an excellent charm for a number of reasons: 1. It makes bosses that take a lot of knockback/move away from you far easier. With knockback, it is extremely difficult to get very many nail hits in because you constantly have to chase them after they get pushed away. However, with Steady Body equipped, you get to move with the bosses, allowing you to get more nail hits and far higher dps. 2. It helps against attacks that limit your movement options. These attacks include the lances attack from PV, the fire pillars from NKG, and the orbs from Absrad. These attacks have tight spaces where even the slightest knockback can lead to you taking damage. 3. You don't have to constantly hold forward. While it is not too difficult to adjust for the knockback by moving forwards slightly, Steady Body removes the need to worry about that completely, and completely removes the chance of accidentally walking too far forwards and taking damage. 4. It's among the best one notch charms. One notch charms are incredibly useful for overcharming or simply general purposes, and for the above reasons Steady Body is an excellent choice. The low notch cost also allows Steady Body to fit into many charm builds, making it incredibly versatile. This means that you can almost always equip Steady Body with Quick Slash, which allows it to truly shine.”
"Steady Body is forgettable" is a funny way of saying Steady Body is underrated. Its amazing with Quickslash, and combine that with Unbreakable Strength, you've got the boss shredder on your hands.
I've rewatched Rusty's videos a LOT and enjoyed them more than the last time I've watched them every single time. Out of all of my time on the internet, I cannot say that with as much conviction as I can say about these videos. Thanks a lot Rusty!
I literally used gathering swarm for everything except boss fights. Whenever I was wandering around Hallownest, I had gathering swarm equipped all the way until the final boss.
Me too, I only take it off when I fight bosses. I mean, what else should I take with me while strolling around Hollownest? I'm just a man with his nail who tries to get rich. 😂
I actually used steady body for my fight against Radiance, because, in her second phase, it helps to get a few hits when jumping, without having the dang recoil making you fall into the void. But that's the only time I've ever seriously used it.
Simple change to make Joni's Blessing a great charm: Make it synergize with Grubberfly's Elegy so you can use sword beams at any amount of health. The hiveblood charms already kind of do this, by giving you a buffer where you can still use it as long as you haven't lost any of your real masks.
I actually use steady body on my build for godhome, it works good with the quick nail to get tons of hits in tight spots without having to worry about where you will slide. But that’s just my personal preference
Steady Body is actually pretty helpful in the Colosseum, especially when Great Hoppers show up. Enemies all over the place where you don't want to hit one only to get recoil bounced back, miss the platform you were standing on, panic, and end up getting impaled on spikes. But other than that, yeah, not the most useful.
Honestly these rankings seem applicable mostly to godseeker/really late-game content - steady body is great for bruteforcing weaker bosses & landing consecutive hits more consistently. The geo duo is at least decent until you buy everything you need. I personally ran hiveblood + elegy for my first coliseum clear - which made things a LOT easier. It feels a bit weird to rank them 'universally' instead of best/worst for the endgame specifically.
@@TyrantNomad If you're good enought to dodge attacks until your mask regenerates, you have the talent to use a charm that speeds up the trial a little. Hiveblood is the worst charm in the game, in my opinion.
