Gunpla Weathering with AK Pencils

  • Using a foot from the MG Sinanju Stein Ver Ka. I show how I use AK weathering pencils and acyrlic paint to weather the Sinanju Stein kit.

    If you need it in a tin to use with a brush, you can just buy a watercolor set. These are just watercolor pencils.

      You’re half right. They are watercolor pencils. But the composition and binders of the pigment is different. I’ve tried using water colour guaches the same way. They don’t work nearly as well.

      @MechaPainter OH i see what you mean. Maybe experiment with different water colors, or just destroy the pencil. You should be able to fit it into any container if you mix it with water as it will dry the same. To create just a block of that stuff. I love painting with watercolors and use water color pencils to do underpinnings for traditional art where i want it to be erasable like a mural. I've never used them in models though. I use acrylics and oil paints currently. Maybe I'll try it lit soon. You did achieve a pretty cool look here.
