What an incredible sound! I remember rewatching the startup sounds of these warbirds over and over again!
Now I can die happy, having heard this awesome warbird starting up.
I lost my opa today he died at 5 am in the morning when you take this plane on a flight next please say a few words to a good man named paul erb he used to work on these in the war im holding the dash clock from one in my hands that he accidentally took home one day when he lost his watch. he was a good man.
In my view one of the much most impressive planes in history. A masterpiece of engineering.
Aaaahhhh sweet sound
Best regards from Bavaria! I´m living about 10 km from Flugmuseum Messerschmitt. And I see and hear all those test flights by Me 109. I hope nobody will be envious here...
FlyingRob1
You should be renting out space on BNB. Lots of interest I bet.
That engine sound has a unique tone, nice!
Great stuff, love the 109 with the proper DB engine fitted...more please!
Absolutely brilliant! Well done to all involved with red 7!!
whoa there is a 262 over there!
Toph629 I think this same uploader has a video of it flying as well. Unfortunately, if it's the same one I watched the other day, either the entire plane is a reproduction, or the engines are.
Regardless, still great to see one flying, even if a repo.
Brian Lee it is a reproduction 262, with engines designed to be as close to the Jumo 004’s as possible while maintaining proper reliability. Only 3 reproduction 262’s have been built. 2 A1’s and 1 B variant. This is also the official channel of Messerschmitt’s Fighter Museum
Fortunately a collapsed hangar sabatoged by the luftwaffe so its contents would be lost to advancing forces was recently excavated and was found to contain 3 untouched 262s,and 2 damaged 1 of the damaged ones was a rare 2 seater training craft, they were auctioned Recently by the land owner and all purchased by some polish millionaire, they were in a collapsed confined space, and he's planning to use the damaged ones to repair the ones in better condition, I hope the guy doesnt put them in some private collection, a bunch of other spare parts were found 13 electric starter motors and some other parts. Its amazing they survived in the soviet era but I guess the soviets didnt want to waste time lifting out the 12 ft thick collapsed ceiling, I'm thankful it fell at an angle
I dont know much more about it, if anyone's hears anything let me know!

Since your from USA I'm going to put the rest in English,, at auction the were bought buy a private collector who is still unknown its very bothersome
That me 262 in the background what a beauty, my grandfather would have seen those bf109 as he defended germany
the supercharger, the clutching and the start are among my top 10 favorite sounds
It's amazing just how small they were.
Wdym by "small" it is 9.2 meters long lol
@@bobuboi4643 Which is only a bit longer than a Cessna 150, most due to engine length.
@@pistonar 9.2 m is still huge compared to a human. It's almost have the size of a b-29
@@pistonar also who said Cessna 150's were small? It may be compared to a modern airliner but compared to a human it is huge
@@bobuboi4643 Best laugh all day. B-29: length 30.17 meters. Wingspan- 43.05 meters . Height- 9.02 meters so, the height of the B-29 is almost, ALMOST the same measurement of the LENGTH of the 109.
Such a beautiful machine!

Great job those guys did on the Me-109 G4! My dream is to see it fly let alone to fly it!
+Paolo Viti Reallyß You want to fly that series of planes that kill more pilots outside of combat than any warbird ever before and after? You have better chances in a early series Starfighter.
The Pandora Guy it's a beautiful plane, although dangerous during landing and takeoff due to high torque and weak landing gear
@DJ-PLAYZ it is correct Me 109!! Originally the factory was "born" as Bayerische Flugzeugwerke so it was Bf 109 or Bf 110 but in 1938 11th July Willy Messerschmitt bought the company a and it was decided to capitalized on his name on the airplanes produced so Bf 109 became Me 109 but not automatically as on official documents it kept being called BF or Me until Me 109 F but it faded away so it is correct both BF and Me but basically Me 109G series stands correct like all the airplanes produced by Messerschmitt....
@@SteveGad it is definitely not an G6 because it does not have the bulges in the cowling to accommodate the 13 mm MG 131 so it is possible that it is the Me 109 G4 that was fitted with the 7.92 mm MG 17 but it is a rebuilt Spanish Hispano Aviación HA-1112 "Buchón" that was built under license from the Me 109 G2 generally fitted with the Rolls Royce Merlin engines because of the unavailability of the DB 605A-1 so it had the nose almost completely reconstructed to accommodate the Swedish license production DB 605A-1! Hope I didn't bore you...
@@tbmavenger71 yes as it is theoretically the Me 109-G the engine should be the DB 605A-1 but exactly what variants it is I don't know

lovely bf-109 ,love to own one and also fw 190 😊
How slick is the swirly nose it looks so cool 😎
beautiful airplane
It's nice to see someone who likes the same plane, it's my favourite too
Excelente trabalho. Parabéns à equipa.
a beautiful sound and in beautiful condition.
Beautiful sound. The little whisteling sound before the engine runs makes it all the more dramatic.
Sweet one of the best sounds
like the spitfire.... superb sound... never get tired of it!!
Weltkrieges gewesen.
awesome footage!

What a beautiful machine.

Hi, great to hear. I'll be waiting :)
Please do some onboard videos from 109, that would be really fantastic :)

I love the sound of that plane.
* happy wheezing noises * its beautiful 🥺🥺🥺
The Spitfire is your absolute nemesis. She is your mistress. Dank Schone.
I'd say the Red 7 is one of the prettiest 109 paint schemes ever made.
Alex Paumen beautiful aircraft
Beautiful plane.
Great sound from this machine, but I would be pleased to know if this clip is before or after the emergency landing in the cornfield at Roskilde Airshow in August 2013. I hope that the red 7 now has been repaired so I in the not too distant future will be able to see this famous aircraft fly again.
+FLUGMUSEUM MESSERSCHMITT beautiful 109. curious how many hours you put on the engine before overhaul? Average cost of operation?
+Matt Robinson
After over 70 years of constant use, the Merlin TBO times have been greatly improved since wartime and today Merlins go over 700 hours, with some Merlins going past 1000 hours for TBO. For the German engines, they haven't been used and are overhauled to factory specs. If I recall, the DB engines have a top end overhaul at 100 hours and complete overhaul at 200 hours, with a max life of 600 hours. Hopefully as more DB engine are used and overhauled, new parts and better techniques will improve the service life and reliability of those rare engines.
I was just outstanding , you could hear everything from the starter engaging the flywheel to full engagement start.
Einfach wunderbar
Love that whistle.
what a fine machine!
Love the flywheel sound at 0:41
such beautiful plane
what a beauty of sound to look, fullfilment of dreams to fly in one of ww2 plane
when you see the technical solutions and production technologies used in the bf-109 and fv-190, it seems that they were not made in the forties, but at the end of the twentieth century.
Many things the germans used. Sadly they were often unreliable.
Gänsehaut 🎶🎧
Sounds far better than a Merlin to me!
Heresy
Beautiful
I'm really crazy about Bf-109s!!!!!!!!
Great sound from this machine. I wonder, however, if this clip is before or after the emergency landing in a cornfield at Roskilde Airshow August 2013 in Denmark. Anyway - I hope that the red seven - once more - will be repaired so we again will be able to see this marvelous plane on the sky in the not so distant future
From the Flugmuseum under a different comment:
"This clip was taken before Roskilde Airshow. The red 7 is ready for take off. Stay tuned."
It’s still a beautiful plane!👍
Was für ein klang....herrlich 👍
MR JAKAL---------WHAT KINDE LUNG IT IS? USE YOUR NEW ONE------ARABIK!!!!!!!!
That thing was sleek. Willie was way ahead of his time when he designed it.
The sound the airplane makes when it’s starting up is crazy
Best sound ever❤❤❤😮
Das ist wie Musik in meinen Ohren
Hermoso !!!!!
Why did the DB601 have a flywheel/geartrain style starter? It seems the weight of the flywheel based starter would be impractically heavy for a machine like this.
What makes the whistling sound when the flywheel is engaged to the crankshaft?
This Plane should have all its markings just because that's what it was not for any other reason what a graceful Beauty
I’ve just realised for the people who say about the swastka that is the same or similar version of the 109 as Erich Hartman which didn’t have a swastika
nice sound daimler benz engine
looks and sounds like good....
the Messerschmitt, a tough and reliable aircraft, was the back bone of the German Air force during WWII and featured successfully in several raids including that on the English. .
Premnath Divakaran you do know that Battle of Britain between June and September was won by the British stopping us from getting invaded. The Spitfire had a slight edge on the bf 109 and even hurricanes were known to shoot them down.
@@RhysapGrug they guy was just pointing out a small part of the history of the 109. He was not saying it was better or worse that the spits or hurricanes.
Which version is it, i. Would guess it's a G, maybe a G4 or a G6?
My grandma and father were shot up by one of these in London, they managed to get into the house ( she was hanging out the washing in the garden ) and dad pushed her under the stairs he then got stuck with his bum sticking out from the stair area, as the shells explouded around the house his one thought was I"m going to lose my BUM ! A FW190 did the same to mum a few years on. Silly times and a silly war that should have never ever happened !
I try to amagine. Mo mom is 84 and She was 7 when she was attecked by Russian airplanes
Daimler Benz symphony number 601 in 12 cylinders and 30 liters.

What's that small black, red and yellow flash on the tail? I don't recognize it.
Modern Luftwaffe markings!
I was just getting a rise out of the Germans. Since its where the swastika marking should be.
How irritating that historical accuracy has to be thrown aside because someone may get offended.
It's the correct national emblem of the country where this beauty is registered. Germany. Glad I could help.
Actually a Spanish HA-1112 built in 1950 reconstructed as a G4 with a Daimler Benz 605
How does this starter work? I hear an increasing spinning sound (much like a turbine start) a little whine and a solid start. My Lycoming IO360 doesn't start this easy.
+ Timothy Scott Inertia starter flywheel, and a starter jaw engages the crankshaft.
👍👍bravo meilleures avions combats
That DB engine definitely has it's own sound, just like the Merlin.
The G-4 was fitted with larger diameter and width mainwheels, the two consequences were blisters on the upper side of the wing and unlike lighter earlier variants the main wheels were upright rather than parallel t the oleo leg, is this really a G-2?
+ David Red 7 started out as a post-war Buchon.
@@FiveCentsPlease Thanks for that, at least I'm paying attention!
What causes that noise when the engine starts? The high pitch noise before the propellor starts spinning ?
Always wondered about that. I thought Luftwaffe planes were cranked. You see film of two guys cranking (the flywheel?) before it starts. Maybe they figured a battery was dead weight, once it started. (I saw what was supposedly a P-51 battery, and it was huge).
Who got this in a search for "Taz spinning sound"? I admit that I would've expected a clip of the first Messerschmitt jet fighter in such a search.
Beautiful living monster
The engine starting sounds like an eagle!
Was the Daimler-Benz DB 605 really 30L?It seems a lot.Do you think a copy of that kind of engine could fit in a modern super car, like an AMG-Mercedes-Benz for instance?I mean surely an upgraded version of that engine.I love the sound ^^
+Melvorgazh More like 36L and 1600 lbs. Too big for a car.
Thanks.
I checked for sizes again, and even the Tiger Tanks 1 and 2 had a smaller engine.
Maybe ok for a big truck then.
But about car engines I actually prefer the sound of V8 over a V12.
Thanks for yout infos, 5CentsPlease
Dunno but I've seen a car with a Rolls Royce Merlin in it.
Really?! :o
In real life or on video?
That I would LOVE to see!
Must be huge.
Did it seem stable alright?
When will we be able to fly and hear this beauty in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This is more needed and wished for than you may think!
We won't because it was a Luftwaffe aircraft, which of course, is too political. Even the Ju52 if you notice does not have a Luftwaffe skin, only civilian air liner skins. The iron cross is just too controversial. I would love to be proven wrong though, nothing I would buy faster than a 109 in that game
+Wolfgand Wind Trägheitsstarter, Bosch Schwungkraftanlasser. ruclips.net/video/8E6AhqQ_htE/видео.html Diese Startmethode war in vielen Flugzeugen verfügbar.
Red Seven has an electric inertial starter. Makes a nice flying upgrade but, insofar as I know, the Gustav as it was used in Luftwaffe service had a hand-cranked inertial starter which would be more historically accurate.
+Rogers Hunter The original Bosch starters could be operated electrically or by hand to spin up the inertia wheel. Back in wartime, it's quicker for the ground crew to spin up the starter in a hurry than waiting to hook up a start cart for power to the starter. Hand start was available as a back-up method on a number of aircraft. Red Seven is probably using a better modern battery to power the Bosch starter.
The German Luftwaffe at it's finest!!!👏👏👏👏❤👍😊💪💪👊✊
The engines on that ME-262 sounded much better !!
