Just like the song the more I know the less I understand. Everything I thought I figured out I have to learn again. Great video. More please with fix results 👊🏻👍🏻
By playing with the triggers on the scope you can actually see the timing chain movement/slack while the engine is running. Refer to carter's diagnostics video on triggers. Thank you.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics Same with key programmers. We have mostly Autels but the best of all of them is the Advanced Diagnostics Smart Pro. We don't use it as much because it's token based and comes in a huge PITA case. We have had a handful of cars the heavy hitters wouldn't program. We fired up a cheap Chinese clone knockoff and that actually programmed the fob. You never know unless you try. I contacted Topdon to see if they had a maintainer that didn't have to be plugged in. We are mobile like you so that would be nice to have. Other than a jump box I haven't found anything.
Nice! Fyi the wire connector on the bracket near the alternator is for the crank sensor, cam sensor is on opposite side engine block. Easier than poking around diagrams.
Hey, awesome vid as usual. I got a question: out of all these scanners what would be the best to get for advanced DIY person? I really like scanner with topology I have thinktool pros. Eric O liking the Harbor Freight icon scanner. I think icon is more like snap on with repair guides.
The reason it's done is to eliminates the possibility of the solenoid being activated, and changing the timing. I don't really feel it's necessary I just do it because a lot of the known good waveforms I use say Unplugged.
Thank you for the video. Does the Pco 7 software run smooth on the tough pad? What is the tough pad's configuration, ram and processorwise? What is the extra, black cover/sleeve on your Picoscope,is it from Autonerdz?
The computer I'm using is the Toughbook CF-33 I Just don't have the keyboard connected. Pico 7 runs great on it, it is an i5 7th gen with 8GB ram. The case on my Pico is @jarheaddiagnostics mounting case for the dell latitude 7212 tablet, which I am not using in the video. www.jarheaddiag.com/shop/p/scopemount
Most early 2000 Toyotas seem to be some type of weird canbus. My Autel and Topdon's wont read the VIN, but after typing the VIN they have no problem afterwards.

Thanks! I don't think the customer approved repair. I will try to get the fix on the ones that do.

Thanks for the info!
I bought my first and last Autel 3years ago . Love my topdon
Ye I'm a big fan of Topdon too! I do find it helps to have multiple brands when something is not working just to make sure it's not the tool.

I really like the D1 Lite!
I was pretty blown away why the capabilities for such a low price!

I was always wondering how long you been doing this type a work, because your damn good at it!! You need slot of paitence
Thanks! Mobile diag only, I started a little more than 2 years ago.
But when you do mobile diag for shops it's like learning on steroids😀
Sweet
Been waiting for a new vid for 5 days too many
Hi why do you disconnect the oil control valve when you run a cam crank correlation on the oscilloscope ?

Does doorman make an offset cam sensor? LOL
