I would love to see you do some in-depth dives into historically significant designers. Okay, I have a confession; I don't get fashion. These days I feel like these brands just stamp their logo on some basic designs and the price can somewhat be justified by the material, not the creativity.
Yeah, but how do you change the fashion world every six months when almost everything amd anything has been invented, tried and even worn by people? It's kind of impossible. It was way different 50-100 years ago when you could be a revolutionary by putting women in pants.
@@girlwhomustnotbenamed4139 Then perhaps they should stop putting on fashion shows every six months? It's often neglected how much carbon footprint the fashion industry has, especially these high-end brands. Also, I think it was also previously mentioned on this channel that giving designers such a short period of time hinders their creativity.
11:40 The first time I saw Gucci use a single "G" instead of the double-G was during the Fall/Winter 1996 collection under Tom Ford. It was shiny gold and had a unique shape like a rounded rectangle with a little slit in the right-center so you can tell it's a "G." Ralph Lauren introduced his Polo pony logo on the cuff of his women's dress shirts in 1972. Jordache and Calvin Klein used to put their names on their jeans. Chanel went logo crazy in the '80s too. It's hard to say who kicked off "logo mania" but RL definitely spearheaded it.

You mentioned in your last Tik tok thrift flip review video that you hoped luxury brands would start using their fabric waste to create other garments, sets, bags, accessories, etc. as a sort of “official” version of the thrift flips individuals are doing themselves online. I found that an absolutely fascinating idea, and I’d like to think the mashup, “hacking” styles in this show are a great potential step (at least ideology-wise) in that “thrift flip” direction for luxury fashion. Here’s hoping!🤞
Hacking means Allesandro was purposely and cheekily taking ideas from Balenciaga to put his own twist on it....as in hacking a site on the computer to whisk away it’s “proprietary” things. I think AM wants to show how we all usurp ideas (good intentions or bad) and how we should HAVE FUN! I also believe he nods to his muse, Harry Styles, with the anatomical heart purse since HS has a large tattoo on his left upper arm of such heart.
The idea of wearing the knife-boot option in black with a coordinated suit would be my dream outfit. One query: @16:19 a white rabbit means...? Maybe an anti-hunting reference? I know that fox hunting with the local rich people on horseback(with rabbit as the bait) used to be acceptable, but really not sure of the bunny's role in this collection. A fantasy outfit that I LOVED but would never ever wear, is the floral suit @24:05.
Do you think that a non fashion person, who doesn’t get historical fashion references, but loves to buy luxury for hype, would have gotten the “hacking” of Balenciaga without the obvious elements (Balenciaga written on top of the Gucci logo). Because at first I was like, this looks like the bootleg jumper that you can get with all the logos on top, but then I was like, are they appealing to the “hype” costumer that only goes as far as Balenciaga sock shoes and won’t get the more sutil references? Would it have been a more interesting collection if the overlapping was done in a simpler, more referencial and less, I don’t know, obvious way in some pieces, or do you think that was necessary? I don’t know if I am explaining myself, but would like to hear some input on that ✨

I also believe he nods to his muse, Harry Styles, with the anatomical heart purse since HS has a large tattoo on his left upper arm of such heart.
ohhhhh i've been trying to rack my brain for the heart reference and will definitely look into that theory!
Love this video..can you do more of these and who was ur favourite Gucci designer..mine is Tom Ford
the dress with the diagonals is superb
Never clicked on a video faster
This just might be my fav video of yours :D
LOVE the coat!!! That red suit was Calvin Klein, though.
Logo Mania, Gucci sure knows how to sell/push products. This show is very sellable that fashionable. 🥱🥱
It is merch. Not fashion
23:50 Luke: “if you F***, she’ll beat you with a Gucci Whip” 🤣🤣🤣
Flaubert You definitely get 2 for 1 luxury combo. They so desperate! 😅
@@zamahudson8889 Or what they call nouveau rich
As an equestrian/horse owner I’m so confused yet excited 😂
I don’t know if I am explaining myself, but would like to hear some input on that ✨
Great video thank you Luke! Normally, I'm not a logo fan but I love the suit at 15:00 and the boots at 16:15! 🧡🤎🧡
I'm really not a logo kinda person, but that balenciaga hourglass bag with the gucci logo made me so confused I loved it
You said it perfectly. It’s clickbait fashion. Great and honest opinion.
Luke's "rich Aunt" vibes with that Tom Ford Gucci tho
I would love for you to do more vids like this :)
Fun Fact, the bamboo used for the bag handles was taken from the central river in Florence (because there was a shortage of leather as you said)
I see a lot of YSL references from 70’s suiting to the stars motif - given both brands ownership and the Tom Ford connection it’s not surprising...
I loved it! Extra and yet mostly wearable.
You should react to Harry Styles's "Live on Tour" suits and outfits!!!! I wanna hear you opinions. :)
OOOOOMMMG I loooove the Gucci Bagssss....releasing today my top 5 Bag Collection. SUPER SUPER SUPER COOOL VLOG! Loooove this episode. I LOOOOOVE LUXURY BAGS ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Been waiting for you to do this review 😭
I think the lace may be alessandro referencing himself for his first show when he had like a week to make it and used lots of lace especially in the menswear that laid the foundation for the gucci we know and sometimes love today
I loved it! Could you recommend any fashion book? I would like to start learning about fashion 🥺
*I am always wondering what you're wearing* I love how extra but minimal your outfit is 🖤 (considering this preference I'm not sure why I am watching a Gucci/Balenciaga video)
I had that Gucci G belt at 12 min in 1998 Tom Ford era.
Me too
17:12 imagine Kim Taehyung in that, in a western red carpet saying I'm a Gucci boy
Gotta love a Gucciaga moment
