    Bought a 10 month old Esprit Alpine recently to replace a mild hybrid Mazda 2 and absolutely love it. Easy to drive, economical, stylish, and with all the 'whistles and gongs' one needs. I also saved 5000 GBP on the new price, so a total 'no brainer' as far as I was concerned. It's ceramic grey like your test car, and personally I think that's the best colour.
    I enjoy your reviews, thank you.

      @xeniosaias funnily enough, it's exactly like the comment from someone in Sweden, 4,3 in summer, and 5 in winter. Mind you, it's good, but I like it for the comfort of its transmission. I had a DSG VW, and I hated every moment of it.

    My mom bought the facelifted Clio with the 90hp engine and manual gearbox. She loves it so far. I've also driven it and must really say i was impressed by how smooth, comfortable and refined it drove. Seems like a very good commuter car, but even a good long distance car, as the seats and suspension was very soft and comfortable and engine was very quiet. It's not sporty, but most people don't want sporty anyway, that's what the MX-5 is for. Most people want comfort, and for that, the Clio is great.

    I have this exact car in the exact same colour. The hybrid engine works extremely well in town & city driving, it's seamless. I have done 5,740 miles from new since June 2024 and exactly half of that has been in electric mode alone - saving me a lot of money of petrol costs.

    As for an automatic small Renault you can choose a Captur 1.33 mild hybrid 160HP with EDC gear box. At around the same price as this full hybrid Clio.

    Great video Marek 🎉 With a Hyundai i20 Mild hybrid I still manage 6.5 to 7.0 ltrs per 100 km so I have to agree that it's not worth the upgrade 👍

    • @Daumex
      @Daumex 9 дней назад +1

      That i20 mild hybrid is not really a true hybrid, while this Clio E-Tech is. You can't drive in electric mode with your Hyundai, while in this Clio you actually can. Mild hybrid only assists you from standstill and before you stop, saving a little bit of fuel but not much. With a light foot you can achieve 4L per 100km in Clio.

      I stopped the e-mail newsletter a while ago, because there weren't too many people subscribed to it, and costs of sending it out outweighed the benefits.
      I'm afraid subscribe, bell icon, thumbs up, etc. is the best way to stay up to date. Also, once in a while you can throw a few of my videos in a playlist, and let them play in the background so that YT knows you like to watch my content, and then hopefully it will serve you all the fresh stuff from me. Or I can just remind you myself under the last comment you leave under any of my videos that the new one's up :)

    In Turkey there is a version without the hybrid and with an auto trans. 90 hp with CVT. In the EU, selling an ICE car (without the hybrid) is obviously very costly to the manufacturer.

    This combo seems like a nightmare to have in the driveway. ICE engine + Electric motor, and Lpg + bateries. Javing all this packed into small city car... This calls for constant dashboard error lights popping.

    For what it offers it's too expensive, especially in this top trim. 26K gets you the same hybrid system in Dacia Jogger, and for a bit more in Dacia Duster. Clio doesn't offer much of a premium feel to it to warrant the high price when compared to these two Dacias.

  • @mishulicius

    I don't understand these hybrid models. I used to drive a 1.5dci Clio 2017 model. It regularly achieved 3-3.5l/100km on country roads an 5 - 5.5 l/100km in town. And it's buying cost was half the one of the current hybrids. Where is the progress?

    Bit skeptical, how useful/economical LPG is for a small city car. May be useful for food delivery companies.

    • @Daumex
      @Daumex 9 дней назад +1

      I guess it's a good solution for people who can't afford the hybrid, as LPG itself on average is 50% cheaper than gasoline, but there's a great catch: since LPG cars have a separate tank for the LPG itself, you get two fuel tanks that way which doubles your range. Clio with an LPG system can cover 1200km without refueling.

    • @Ostap1974
      @Ostap1974 8 дней назад

      @@Daumex My point was specifically about LPG in CITY cars. City cars generally are optimized for relatively short trips. LPG cars always start on petrol and are switched to LPG later, so I see little benefit. For longer trips, I would go with Megane at least, and LPG on that machine would make much more sense.

    • @Daumex
      @Daumex 8 дней назад

      @@Ostap1974 Nope, LPG cars just start on petrol and switch immediately to LPG. More advanced LPG systems even squirt constantly a tiny bit of petrol to increase power.

    • @Ostap1974
      @Ostap1974 8 дней назад

      @@Daumex I guess it depends on climate and LPG system. The LPG car I drove some years ago, needed 5 minutes or so, before it could be switched. Being honest, I don't have a practical experience with modern systems.

    Renault seems to be hedging its bets with the slow down in EV sales.
    With Renault being good at packaging, how about a Clio with LPG, HEV, PHEV and Hydrogen?, there would be more handshakes than the King of England at a church fete.

    It just seems like if you are going to buy an appliance, you might as well get a Toyota or Honda. They probably have better resale and long term durability. I think this car needs more of that whacky French flare.

    • @Daumex
      @Daumex 9 дней назад +2

      They're both more expensive than Clio, so that idea falls through. Yaris starts from 25K going up to 34K in top trim, and Jazz starts from 27K going up to 30K.
