      @@PiggyPower I like the car but I wish I was able to buy new one or be the first owner. I mean, there is this weird thing Ive never seen in my life is that somebody punched a hole in oil vapor hose and installed an electrical wire in it! Wire goes through the vapor hose! any logic? I cant find any answer from any mechanic other than "Ive never seen it" and its driving me crazy!

    I've got the later 136 hp HDi but I think it has the same tensioner. Is it possible that mytensioner has gone slack as I get chirping when the engine is cold that goes away once warm? The bearing in the tensioner appears to be ok though, no noise like this one.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  4 года назад +1

      Yes, or something else is wearing, an idler or the belt itself

    • @VonBugle
      @VonBugle 4 года назад +1

      @@PiggyPower Cheers, I think I'll change the tensioner as I dont think this engine has any idlers apart from the one on the tensioner itself.

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  4 года назад

      Do the test as shown... Could be a dry alternator bearing or even a cambelt idler/tensioner.

    • @VonBugle
      @VonBugle 4 года назад +1

      Will do. The timing belt was done recently and since the noise goes away when warm, I'm hoping it's the tensioner :)

      Misfire perhaps?
      If engine mounts are bad/broken/damaged/failed... This would make the engine move a LOT

      @@PiggyPower yeah i know Mr Piggy, but im sure there is something else. When i pull the spark plug they come out with oil, could it be that the engine is not "timed" correctly?
      thx for the answer btw =)

    • @JuanPabloContrerasC
      @JuanPabloContrerasC 4 года назад

      and if it is a misfire how can i check that? i dont wanna take him to a mechanic here... cuz there is not a single honest or very good one where i live

    • @PiggyPower
      @PiggyPower  4 года назад

      Timing is locked by the timing belt, when they slip, the engine has catastrophic failure. Plugs coming out with oil around them or on the tip? If on the tip, you have a serious internal issue. If just around them, then oil is leaking externally and finding its way into the plug wells. This needs fixing. It could also cause the spark go to ground/cause a misfire. Does it misfire when driving or just idling?

      Noises online are almost as useful as noises for a deaf person. Use a rod like I said and investigate. The engine is big... It might translate the noise across the engine but it will be louder near the source!

      Power steering pump sounds noisey to me. . . But maybe that's just the audio, as I say it's like a deaf person guessing... Have you checked if the cambelt is rubbing against the cambelt cover or is tensioned too tight? Does the noise go away if you remove the aux belt?
