It’s all about the fun. I am not saying I have anything special, (C7 ZO6, M7), but at a local track I was passing all. Probably the drivers. A Lotus and a Mazda track modded gave me the most challenge. I will never approach his level of expertise. Just for fun.
Oh, definitely. That's why I find it silly reading all the endless arguments about how this is faster than that, from people who wouldn't survive a couple turns at 10/10ths in one of those cars. Give me a 911 GT3 or an Emira or or C8 Z06 or the like, and I'll be perfectly happy. @@joelpierce3940
I just stumbled onto this channel and having this format of hot laps first + drivers commentary at the end is the best comparison video I have seen. Thank you very very much for including these cars along with the Pagani. I raced the Pagani in Real Racing 3 recently and was surprised how fast it was in lap times, so I was sceptical. After this video, it all but confirmed just how good that car is.
thanks! keep in mind there are three episodes, admittedly the first and third ones are slow as there is mostly talking, but that is how the day played out so we wanted to film it all unscripted
ooooh, that is a good one and we honestly don't have the answer to that. but.. hypercar invitational 2 is coming soon and we will try to find out. 918 is easier to drive hard, the CGT.. not so much, takes more skill and more risk. so hard question to answer.
I would say it now. Nope. The CGT is not going to be faster than the 918 even with the best tires. Simple reasoning? Technology. CGT does not have all the tech aids and race tech that the 918 has. I am pretty sure the CGT is more like P1, where you need loads of effort to get it doing what you want it to.
@@netmatrix75 How does it not have race tech? Carbon Ceramic brakes and pushrod suspension. Also better power-weight ratio once the 918 batteries are done. So a DCT vs manual is the only difference. Without batteries power 918 is back to RWD.
Hypercar Invitational very good work indeed, even when the camera man got a little bit lost you kept the footage on, because randy was describing “live” and refilming wouldnt be the same. You guys made something incredible with rhis project congrats and thank you!
Great video and interview with Randy. The SIM racers put a picture in picture with the driver or even a second pip of a footcam overlaying the main image of the cockpit viewing the road ahead. If you consider this i will forever be a follower lol, it offers such immersive experience for a viewer, and it shows every nuance of car control.
Mr. Randy, I truely believe that God blessed you and all men want your job. I'm your biggest fan. You can drive the wheels off anything. Instead of paying alot for a fast ride, you get paid to drive the best. Thanks for letting me ride with you every time... Car God. Joker
I do enjoy well produced car videos like the kind made by EVO and Carfection (Top Gear is utter dribble...), and this is clearly very much unlike that. But it's really refreshing to watch a video like this - no musical soundtrack, no pointless B Roll (well a little), just raw footage. Randy as always is brilliant with this critique - just a brilliant video. This is criminally under-viewed.
Really spectacular what you guys are doing, looking forward to what's coming. I would have liked to know the times and the onboard video with data of the best laps, but anyway a very good video, surprised by the Pagani, is of my favorite cars, but I never had it as a favorite for its performance, good to know that also stands out in that. Thank you for the video.
Santiago Camargo thank you for the nice comments. For reasons we can’t discuss, we were not able to publicize the times. But you can find out our impressions I’m episode 3 tomorrow
Benjamin Guillory we had an issue with p1 audio so we had to cobble it back together from other laps. Was actually impressive editing work from our man Ryan Hayslip
Some more exterior shots of the Huarya BC hell all of them would have made this video even better ,and maybe a better interior mic to enhance the interior sound . With that being said ,this video was a real joy to watch @Hypercar Invitiational Can't wait to see more
thank you for your valuable feedback. as our maiden effort, a "dry run" if you will, there are a lot of things we learned. having said that, a dedicated Huayra video is coming out very soon.
@@randypobstofficial You ,Chris Harris and Henry Catchpole are my favorite car presenters to see and listen to .It was a real visual treat to watch you drive those cars hard .Hope to see you in a Koenigsegg Jesko and Valkyrie in the coming years 🙌
Very nice. Maybe some onboard data to be displayed but otherwise great. Longer steady shots to take it all in were great as well as no "musical" audio mixing to interrupt the cars on track. An enthusiasts perfect format.
Legend has it that Ferrari issued a cease or desist letter to Randy for talking shit about the LaFerrari’s brakes and banned him from buying any Ferrari even though he never wanted one.
after watching lots of reviwes, it seems the italian supercars really have to improve brake performence. ferrari and lambo often have great engine and accelaration while good and reliable brake is also very important. 911's brake is a very good benchmark
How about throwing in a Koenisegg in the mix? Thats one car that probably has the least comparison to the LAF, P1 & 918. The BC being tested here by Randy is really gold. I still remember Randy testing the P1 & 918 some years back, where the P1 isn't going any faster than the 918 even after the McLaren team keep tweaking it.
Actually same with the 918, then probably with the others too. I wonder why, would think he would want complete control himself. Driving these cars is too easy...:)
The reason for automatic is that I had only a few laps to drive, so it saves time and errors due to no practice. And many modern systems are as good or better than manual.
Paolo Jelmoni I do not have time to learn all the shift points and corner gear choices. Gotta go! So I leave it in auto/race-track mode if a good source recommends it.
Why was randy going so slow in the P1? 135 on the back straight is really slow for that car, the entire lap I thought he was just doing a warm up lap. Seems odd

I am actually disappointed in Randy’s 1:44 lap time in the P1. I’ve ridden with @steelankles in his stock SS 1LE at 1:37, with traffic! Steelankles was going 20mph faster between turns 7 and 10a than this high powered super car. Randy was obviously driving it like he borrowed it from a trigger happy hit man 😂
haha.. this is good. probably had to do with tires not being brand new.. also yes, a borrowed car. also track conditions.. it was november and 43 degrees that day... all these factors.
I love how these are not over-produced and there is an abundance of raw driving video with barebones audio. Well done.
good to hear that, because both of out of necessity and intent, this is what it was going to look and feel like.
