I love when car makers are driven by engineering instead of marketing. This why the F1 and T50 are so amazing.
Who needs marketing when your name is Gordon Murray?
Ironically, the 'no focus on marketing' thing has been the best marketing for the t50. Hopefully, this triggers a U-turn in the car industry :)

So proud that the first one is called Kyalami! When I was a teenager in the early 90's, my next door neighbour was a man called John Wheeler who was a marshal there. Him and his wife used to take me along on Saturdays, and I often had chequered flag duty along with one of the best views on the track. Sarel van der Merwe was the big name in SA racing at the time. Such wonderful memories... Just seeing the word Kyalami makes me smile! Thank you Mr Murray!

ohhhh my... thank you for Sharing this with us..
The just 25 part killed me. I wanted to see this thing race on the racetracks of the world and not rot in some collection.
That's what's sad about it. Gordon said it himself - he designed this car for an experience like no other. The rich morons that can't make a proper turn to save their lives will in turn buy it and stash it in a barn somewhere for a hundred thousand years. Then someone will find it, and the odometer will be at 4 or 5 miles or something idiotic.
I think it’s part of the tribute to Nikki as he won 25 races.
Although I would love to have seen this mass produced in at least in the hundreds, so we could see some get into the hands of people who will use them to their potential.
eh, you know it’s not as bleak as the internet makes it out to be honestly. Especially with track cars like this, you do see them being used or being taken out. Most P1 GTRs and F1 GTRs are converted to be road legal because the owners want to drive them on the street. You see the FXXK, and FXXK Evo being trashed around multiple circuits.
Besides put it this way, if you had a 3 million dollar track car would you take it balls to the walls knowing that it’s gonna cost a lot to replace the tires and brakes? There are people who don’t take their GT3 RS to the track for this reason alone. And that costs waay less money and effort to maintain than this thing. In the end, it’s up to the drivers really.
besides Gordon himself said he will never build a car more than 100 units. He doesn’t want to become a normal car company chasing profit per units on every car. He’d rather design the ultimate drivers car knowing that he’s put his best effort into it, rather than building an accessible production car that’s full of compromises. He’s a perfectionist at heart.
@Gastón it's not capable of breaking records
Being South African, car #1 being Kyalami somehow makes me proud :-) a great Mclaren F1 successor. Well done Gordon, you did it again

Im glad that I am part of the select group of us that understand why no other attempt at a hypercar, not even an SSC and not even a Bugatti Bolide can even come close to catching our attention after this masterpiece enters our radar screen. One either 'gets it' or they don't.
Another brilliant design by a true genius and a fantastic tribute to a legend. Sidenote, it was an unexpected and pleasent surprise to hear Dario's voice. I could listen to him read the phone book! Miss seeing him behind the wheel though.
Ford: we’ll just call our electric car a mustang to drum up sales, even if gearheads don’t like it.
GMA: Just make it awesome, then even better.
Porsche: How can we squeeze some more money out of our electric car - call it a TURBO
I hate Ford for going complete electric in the near future! I hope they go bancrupt! Nobody wants electric cars! Electric cars are not the way to go, synthetic fuel is the way to go!😏
Ford and GMA are two completely different companies, there's no point in comparing them
@@xdr.77sohail13 I’m just sayin Ford ruined a performance name by giving it to a crossover and gma is doing things for the driver.
@@bobcatracer if the mustang is a performance name, you could say that ford already ruined it long ago when they essentially turned the mustang ii into a wheezy luxury coupe, or when they offered a gutless I4 pinto engine with the foxbody
Wow I love how its named after Niki...one of the greatest racers and humans of recent times...he was such a legend
Sometimes you move the car the way you want,
While sometimes and I DO MEAN SOMETIMES, *the car moves you*
*The control, the emotion, the drama, the mechanical feeling, the feeling like your brain is directly connected to the throttle and the shifts, the feeling of "Yes, this is enough, I dont need anymore than this"*
AND SOMETIMES WHEN YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH, THE *GORDON MURRAY T50* HAPPENS..
I love his ethos behind building a car, the focus on driver engagement and experience above all.
Already gave a like, before the video even has started, because I knew Gordon Murray wouldn't disappoint me with his more agressive masterpiece of engineering! Hats off!
Listen the McLaren F1 after 30 years is still the most unbelievable machine on the road today.... S.N.M
This : is the future. Period. Mr. Murray is one of the last automotive builder purist we will remember in the petrol era. Thnaks for EVERYTHING Mr. Murray
I am really glad people like you exist Gordon. I hope that we can continue to be free enough to challenge each other’s designs and creations to keep us pushing the envelope of design and perform each. Thank you. Never quit. Never stop. And if you are a youngling out there who has the passion, follow it. Be wise and tactful but never let the world become small. Advice from a simple man. But one who appreciates wonderful things.
11:18 This thing will probably produce the best engine soundtrack in a modern road car for the long foreseeable future or possibly ever. That's an old school F1 sound 🔥
Me: Mom can we get an F1 Car?
Mom: No, we have an F1 Car at home.
The F1 Car
*_Hell Yeah, Thanks Mom_*

A true work of art and engineering. Glad to see details focused on the driver and his track experience, not only speed numbers.
God bless Gordon Murray and Niki Lauda. True legends. Car is such a fitting tribute. Can't wait to see this on the track - not wasting away in a collectors garage.
Love how the air vents above the rear splitter are a node to the F1
When the master creates a perfection
A man still making cars how they are supposed to be made. I'll never get to drive one but I thank you anyway Mr Murray.

Thank you Gordon. You've graced the world of the petrolhead with some of the most emotive and impressive cars of thier day, and now with the advent of the Electric age, it seems you have penned us a swansong. Godspeed and fair winds GMA, this is going to be a real adventure of a lifetime.
NIKI is and always will be my favorite car.
Now this car is a goal for me.
25 of them. Some may even be driven. What an immense automotive achievement.
I honestly don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful car! Absolutely breath taking!!!
Gordon... you are the craziest car designer who ever came on this planet! What an iconic car. Thanks
