Just bought the tsc55keb kit. Been using the flexvolt dewalt saw and I thought that was good!! This thing is in a very different league.
Only just this year have I started to buy festool and now wonder why it took me so long. Festool im loving this track saw. Totally hooked.

For best cuts use the guide rail clamps, scribe cut to about 4-5mm and then cut full depth. This way you won't need to to flush cut with a router before edging.

I would say this video is more of a quickstart guide and doesn't actually cover the setting up of the tool at all which would be calibration of the blade to the guide rails and adjusting the stop limits for 90s and 45s etc

I gather the splinter guard doesn’t need to be trimmed all the way from end to end of the rail?

It absolutely does. Unless you only plan on making matchboxes. I love Festool but their obsession with only cutting playing cards size objects in all their demos is really annoying. If this instructional video was honest they will tell you that you need to buy a 2nd rail and rail connectors in order to cut the strip fully.
Edit: one more thing for those of you reading this. You need to stop your cut 10.5 inches from the end of the rail. Why you ask? It’s because if you go further you will lose that total precision because the front of your saw pops out of the track. Now think about it….you stop 10.5 before you also need to start a mimimim of 10 inches in. So a 32 inch rail becomes 11.5 inches. Like I said…matchboxes. So you immediately will have to buy a 2nd track.
