If you're that concerned with fuel economy, you should've bought a F350 Extended Cab 4x2 truck. Not a Tremor crew cab with a 4x4 drive train.

I've only got a hundred miles on it but think I'm gonna love this motor. I had the 7.3 in my 22 Tremor and I couldn't handle the amount of shifting and power range.

    Great looking truck for sure!!!
Of the 3 manufacturers mentioned, Ford is the only one with a major safety flaw in the design of their auto transmission!!!
    • In an emergency, you can't push the shift lever from D into N with an open palm!!! This is not shifting in the normal sense by pulling up on the shift lever and changing gears!
    • On Ram, Chevy, GMC as well as most other auto manufacturers you can do the emergency disconnect move - Honda, Toyota, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, Nissan just to name a few!!!
    • The same is true on Ford's console mounted auto transmissions - you can't do the above move but have to push the lockout button!!
    • The whole idea behind this safety design is to allow the driver to disconnect the engine from the drivetrain without having to worry about putting the trans into Reverse! There is a safety detent and the transmission cannot go into Reverse with this emergency procedure!
    • No dealer know about this because for some reason, the manufacturers do not publish this info!!! Try it - you just may be pleasantly surprised unless you own a Ford product!!!!

My buddies F150’s radio and CarPlay would lock up every now and then. He would have to pull over and restart the truck to get it to clear. Hopefully it’s not a long term issue for you and just a one time anomaly. The MPG for a new truck is great.

The thing that is holding me up is the concern of ride quality. Do you have any experience to compare a 250 to a 350 in ride quality? Or can you speak more about the ride quality of your 350. My truck will get quite a bit of daily driving so a little bit of comfort is on my mind. Especially coming from my 150. Thank you!

Thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying! I spent a lot of time comparing F250 vs F350 ride quality in 2020 when I got a F350. I can tell you I didnt notice a big difference in 2020, and can tell you the ride quality on the 2023 F350 Is a nice improvement over the 2017-22 trucks. I am picky about ride quaity and am very happy with how my 2023 F350 rides. If you plan to do a 5th wheel in the future...get an F350. You wont be sorry. Check out the video I just posted about my payload measured on a cat scale. If i would have gotten a F250 I would have been over my payload rating.

I have a ‘22 F-250 Tremor w the 7.3. I get about 12mpg in the metro city, and it’s lively! Unlike many other HD options, it doesn’t have a turbocharger, but the engine has a lot of room under the hood for add-ons. Seeing some options raising the HP to 700- upwards of 1k HP! Besides, who gets such a truck to count MPG? Fill’er up and drive on, wildcat!
I don’t tow anything large, but if I did, and towed significant loads inter-state, not a bass boat, side-by-side, small box trailer, I’d likely opt for the 6.7.
On my last road trip, a 6.7 SD was taunting me as I was behind a SUV on a two-lane country road. When I had an opportunity to pass, I signaled, made sure the truck behind me saw and readied to follow me. We did, and I left him in the rear view!

I can't make heads or tails out of payloads....I see such a diversity. I've seen 2022 model shortbed F350's with lower payload capacity than mine. I don't know why. Ford followed suit. In 2023 Ford raised the GVWR on the short bed 350s...huge plus for a 2023 short bed truck.

I think the EPA has just about killed the Diesel engine. I recently replaced my 1st Gen Dodge, 3/4 ton long bed club cab , 2 wheel drive that got 22-24 highway empty. I did a lot research and asked many owners about mpg on the new diesels, none were really that good. I ordered a new 22 Ram, 4dr with 8’ bed, 2500 with bigger Hemi, it weighs 7K lbs, if I run 80 it will do 16-17 mpg, running 60-70 I’m getting 18-20, some back roads at 45-55 20-23, recent 1000K trip with a slide in truck camper and towing a trailer, total of 18K lbs, the over all average was 9.3 mpg. And no DEF needed and no Re-gen. My old 1st Gen Dodge would have been 15-16 easy. Been a die hard Ford man all my life, even raced only Fords on dirt, but no way I wanted an aluminum body truck and all the issues that Ford is having with there gas engines.

choking modern day diesels with emission crap really hurts them. Is the mpg drop vs the exhaust output really better for the environment? My 2002 dodge dually with a steel flat bed gets 18 mpg. I just don't understand it. Maybe because people want to go fast and such, but these types of trucks were never meant to be hot rods.

    • @CTECH-REVIEW
      @CTECH-REVIEW  Год назад

Dont disagree with that. with your truck being pre emissions DOC/DPF/SCR those trucks were simple and got great fuel economy. unfortunately you can not buy a truck like that anymore. But from my experience the new diesels in past 3-4 years with advanced 10 speed transmissions get the same or better fuel economy then the older diesels do. The exhaust technology on these new diesels really since 2011 has improved fuel economy greatly compared to the 2008-2010 era trucks

would be very curious to know if the F350 has Lane Keep Assist, like my f150. Does it actually steer on it's own and keep you in the lane on its own, like the f150. I realize it only does it for 12 seconds, but it's handy... Thanks ! Dealers rarely know. It also should have wireless carpaly.. my 22 f150 has it.. same interior. If the truck does have Lane Keep Assist, you can use a 1.5 lb ankle weight on the steering wheel, and the truck will drive all day without the annoying warning... Which I only take advantage of on interstates with low low traffic.. Just nice to cross your arms while driving occasionally. We ride yz250fx bikes !!
