    A guy I worked with has a son, he was 12 at the time and his fave band is noiseworks. My mate emailed them asking for any guitar tips for his son and got a response same day asking if they were free that weekend. Long story short the band spent a Sunday arvo showing a 12 year old a real studio and some guitar tips out of the kindness of their hearts. A bunch of great blokes 😊

    My favourite Noiseworks song! "No Lies" is another one from the same album as this that I love. We were so spoiled growing up on NZ in the 80s. All of the music was as good as this. And then the close community where all the Aus artists and Kiwi artists worked together...so good.

  • @RolandDeschain1
    @RolandDeschain1 2 года назад +25

    This is the sound of classic '80s Aussie rock. 'Touch' is the other true classic of theirs that you still hear on the radio all the time today.
    Jimmy Barnes' 'I'd Die To Be With You Tonight' is another one, but there are so many.

    I knew Stuart from the age of thirteen when I was friends with his brother Warwick (drummer - Manhattan Blonde,a local Gosford band, Screaming Tribesmen, Feather)
    Spent much time hanging out with them at their Point Clare home.

    Dei here. When CD players first became a thing, and we finally got one, as a kid, I rode my bike down to the local video store (the only place in town with CDs) and spent all my pocketmoney on my very first CD. They only had a selection of about 20 albums, but the moment I saw the Noiseworks debut album, I knew that would be my first CD! Such memories. It takes me back... ;) Oh, and before that, my first cassette album from a band... Do Re Mi's Domestic Harmony.

    I know this is your reaction video and I don’t have to watch it, but I love hearing Susie’s takes and I’m loving your delving into Aussie and 80/90s music that I grew up with, but, Travis, please listen to the lyrics 😢. The moment there is any beat at all - regardless of what the other instruments are doing - you start bopping and grinning, sometimes pausing to say how happy the song makes you before you’ve heard a word, and then you continue grinning and bopping while the lyrics talk of (in this case) saying goodbye as you drove away and I never saw you again BECAUSE YOU DIED. Maybe it’s a generational thing but anger, despair, loneliness, grief, unrequited love, bittersweet nostalgia - these can all be drum-pounding emotions, especially with skilled, real instruments and powerful vocals. Just… slow down, relax, and take a mo’ (as we say in Oz) to let it all hit you before you bop? Then, if you still wanna bop, then the fault is in the song, but give it chance? 😊
