He’s currently got a book about the WW2 Battle of Arnhem in the UK best-seller lists. His “pub landlord” persona is a character he has created which allows him to behave like a stereotypical English pub landlord, who has a (usually badly-informed) opinion about everything, and insists that Britain is best at everything. If you go to one of his performances it could be a good idea to avoid the front few rows, as you could well get splashed with beer!
He was on Time Commanders and they showed the setup and he basically went "OK, THIS is how the Romans lost, THIS is what we're going to do instead" and won easily.

guys funny thought, argentina, when he said it was a war for penguins, he was actually right, we took the falkland islands, there was no one there just pemguins, it was in habited, peopl over the years have moved onto the it and colinised and we still own it, argentina want it back, hence the falklands ward, in around 1982, we won and kept the falklands,

Absolutely. Warren Mitchell experienced that same effect when playing Alf Garnett,the idiots these characters are satirising are too thick to realise.

Uganda wasn't German either, that was Tanganyika, now part of Tanzania. Uganda was a British protectorate from 1894 until 1962.
Not everything in that piece is factually true but it is not a history lesson, it is a comedy routine.
