BE CAREFUL!!! Walmart is now stocking a grey/ silver Boost Mobile version, that is only a (4) core @1.8gz not an (8) a 1.8gz core version. The 4 core one still has 6.3" ips hd display, the 32 gb rom, and still has 3 gb of Ram. I imagine they were losing some profit at $99 and fixed that. I got one, but had to track down a black one as that is the boost one that has 8 cores. So just a heads up, read the box carefully, it will say the core count on the front of the box.
hey eta, how about a list with the most common mobile cpus with 855+ on top and the rest below it. on a second column list emulated systems; that way we can tell that, in order to play ps1 @60fps (example), we can't go lower than, say a snapdragon 450, or to play psp @30fps we need snapdragon 630 and so on. What do you think?
Yeah, at $99, I think this is the best value phone, but it's $179 at Metro PCS. The prices are not the same on all carriers: moto, samsung, LG,... are more expensive on the "big" guys!

Do you use a cheap chinese phone as an everyday driver?Because I used a 300€ chinese phone ca. 3y ago and it stopped getting updates after a couple of months and the phone slowly started dying. I got this for metro by T-Mobile and this phone is fucking awesome pretty fast and loud phone 💯👍
i used this phone for 2 weeks and i agree it is a lot of phone for $100 like big 1080p screen, big battery, and good cameras. however it has some glitches that caused me to return it. ram is always used up, using facebook app causes the phone to freeze, phone gets hot easily not letting it charge. this is all with disabling unused apps and clearing idle apps constantly
That full HD screen is worth the 100
That's subjective unfortunately. Keep in mind that the LG V20 can be bought for about 70 dollars. 1440p.
@@awesomeferret the v20 os only a quad core cpu
It's really shows how much Apple are ripping you off with their price. I am sure their phone is better but is it $900 better? I highly doubt it.
Apple dont even give a 1080p display in their mainstream phone.
@Disappointment more like 300 for the phone and 600 for the sticker and hipster creed.
Never buy Apple product ever, if it's broken Apple will charge you double the price for just "fixing it" (which I bet 100% they just change your phone with new one) and they always say your device got liquid damage first, they even charger you labor to fix it which add another $100 what the f*ck.
What a great design If they had put front facing speakers on it, it would be a really nice buy for 99, a faster SOC for 200 maybe?
Great video, please don't forget to mention if the phone has or not a headphone jack.
Chezare Da Silva
it has headphone jack but phones are very defective. Go read the ACTUAL reviews for this phone. I wish I had.
Finally some1 use heir of light for bench the phone game performance... can you try Darkness rises for future bench ? Cz maybe on par with Honkai impact 3
Thank you man I will buy this straight at my birthday and ik turning ten and I will get 120 or if I'm lucky 200 dollars
I love that for $99 it has a bigger battery than the Pixel 4 XL...
Its increasingly difficult to see the point of higher priced phones now, while the performance is better, in real world applications the reality is it makes little difference. More expensive phones are increasingly looking like little more than status items compared to what cheap phones can now do
Ikr!?
Very impressive phone. Don't think they sell them in Canada. Will have to look into
Hard not to want to buy this! I would buy anything you sell honesty lol
I may actually consider one of these, i've been looking for a new phone for about this price. I don't use my phone for serious gaming. I wonder if something like the samsung dex could be sideloaded onto something like this.
I was browsing around and saw the CoolPad Legacy 5G is launching next month. Supposedly has the SD765 and 4GB ram. I will be curious if it will be available by the MVNOs here in the states.
I left a message on your other video the one where you install Android onto a PC.. I was wondering what would be better to stream movies on an Android box or just installing an Android operating system on my old PC?
Would this be a decent upgrade from a Note 5?
You can always root it an change the ROM so you will be able to use on any network in the world as long as the model supports it.
That's a bold claim putting this up with high priced devices. Not a bad one though .
Damn i'm so jealous when i see you playing an N64 game with a controller...idk why but i can't get the xbox one s controller to work with this emulator (did create a proflie and mapped the buttons though)...could you make an in depth tutorial on mupen64plus FZ??? especially in the controller section? :p
I use the paid version of classicboy to play N64 games on this phone
I noticed on the PSP emulator that the buttons were still there just an FYI there's an app that cost me be a dollar to call the immersive mode and it's made to make the phone take up as much green as possible and push those things out of the way so that's pretty cool you might want to grab that in case you was want to make a more Flawless experience on the screen
On the psp emulator you can actually just go in setting and turn the on screen buttons off, for free
Review the newer model Legacy Brisa. It came out this month. Better cpu, gpu, and sound chip set.
Could you do a video on gaming with a lg stylo 5? Emulators and app store games?
Stylo 5 is weaker than the Coolpad Legacy. That phone is too weak for Cod Mobile
Keepskatin I ended up buying a redminote 9s so I’m set for now haha thanks for the response tho 💪🏽
just got mine 2 weeks ago. I've had nothing but problems with it. it's a very nice phone but super glitchy. I had to go back to using my old broken phone while I send my Coolpad back to get fixed. My broken phone is WAY more reliable.
Idk about this i have this phone and it has constant connection issues on roaming, drops calls, disconnects data while on youtube, and just overall a shit phone with Boost Mobile i sent it off and they sent a new one back same thing a week later. Did A little reasearch turns out this phone company is based in China and made in China which explains alot.
Awesome budget phone 👍
To bad Fortnite is not a test-able game. Perhaps one day Epic will dip a toe into the budget phone market. Otherwise, great review, love the extended look at games in action. +1 more Subscriber!
I searched in the web and amazon Germany. Those smartphones don’t exists here, damn
Yeah, it seems to be US only.
@ somehow thats a shame.
I tried to find it here in Europe aswell when he did the last video. No luck. Not even on AliExpress and such sites.
@@PlaceholderforBjorn damn thats really bad. So you need to fly over there yourself or need a friend who can send it to you. Sometimes its hard to get good stuff that is cheap :D
Its because its a Phone only Made for a certain Market. I guess you also get it here in Europe but the Name is different.
Metro pushed this phone on me for $99.00. I bought two! Six weeks later I could not take it any more, it kept freezing and sometimes would not even let me answer calls! I called Metro to see if the could replace them, they said I had to buy new ones. I was with Metro since 2008 but decided to jump ship. If they push inferior product on their customers they should expect no loyalty.

So just a heads up, read the box carefully, it will say the core count on the front of the box.
think you can do a review on the upgraded " Coolpad Legacy Brisa" ?
I actually haven’t even seen this yet, trying to get one now, looks nice with that Snapdragon 665
@@ETAPRIME its basically a moto g fast with a better screen display imo. more ppi
hey eta, how about a list with the most common mobile cpus with 855+ on top and the rest below it. on a second column list emulated systems; that way we can tell that, in order to play ps1 @60fps (example), we can't go lower than, say a snapdragon 450, or to play psp @30fps we need snapdragon 630 and so on. What do you think?
Is the other video focusing on emulation still coming? That's all I care about.
Teddy meulenberg?
100$ with Type-C? best deal ever
My zte zmax pro from 2017 has USB c for 100$ it's nothing new
It looks like it runs well. But I have a compulsive issue with asymmetry. Would the Xperia Z phones still be worth it, with CFM of course?
This phone is great, similar to Samsung galaxy j, similar to my Nubia m2, there is no need for anything more powerful, this will do it all.
Yeah, at $99, I think this is the best value phone, but it's $179 at Metro PCS. The prices are not the same on all carriers: moto, samsung, LG,... are more expensive on the "big" guys!
Open a new line and it's free
When will you do ultra cheap prepaid phones from Walmart?
Would this work on straight talk? This phone could make a great Christmas gift for my parents!
This seems like a great phone to give to a young teen.
It's a great phone for all, similar to Samsung galaxy j.
lol im 13 and have this phone
@@mercedesthings6388 Great! Don't be one of those teens who only want iPhones. 👍🏼👍🏼👐
iPhones are overrated this phone has about the same amount of processing power as the iPhone XR don't underestimate android
Underrated phone
I am getting a popup from boost Mobile to accept the terms and conditions. If I do, I lose all connections including WiFi and the phone no longer works as a cheap WiFi device. Is there a way to by pass this?
I’d like an answer to this too!
Having the same issue! I am doing research, but so far have not found the work around, but I am new to Android.
@A9five That's good to know for the future. I actually sold the phone a long time ago, but I'll be sure to accept the terms if I buy another mobile phone.
My biggest issue is I'm stuck Att as they are the only ones who have a tower in my area. If I can throw my SIM card into one of these phones and use my phone carrier, I'm all set and I should pick one up at some point. All my phones are slowly dying...
In the same boat!!
I liked it at first but after awhile it's starts acting dumb my apps keeps freezing and sometimes it makes my phone freeze
You have to buy a C10 memory card and it will work like a champ.
Do you use a cheap chinese phone as an everyday driver?Because I used a 300€ chinese phone ca. 3y ago and it stopped getting updates after a couple of months and the phone slowly started dying. The SD stopped working, then the screen had issues, it got super laggy and finally died.
I am tempted by the nice specs and features, but I worry the same will happen, can you maybe tell us your experience (if you have some) of using cheap chinese phones for a year or so?
Sd 450?? Extreme framerate on pubg?? Natively i think not. I think youve used something like gfx tool right?
No
@@outcastriley what do you mean no?
I don't give a shit about online games, I rather go with emulators of older consoles
I have a Redmi Note 4 with Snapdragon 625, is quite similar to this one
"Low preset with extreme fps"
Even the SD 710 cant do that. Smooth and ultra framerate only. Not extreme. Not unless you use gfx tool or bagt app. Thats impossible without tinkering or even rooting the device
This would honestly be good for my son not too big not too small
That's what she said!!!!
What settings did you have on COD? Cause it looked like low low settings.
You should do a video on one of the android phones they sell at Dollar general. I saw a low end moto and also low end samsung galaxy phones last I was there.
Man! In india this time you can get everything in a phone in just $142. Xiaomi redmi note 8 .
Everyone like man wth is that a tablet?? They love it and the case I got keeps it safe af... dropped it n nothing
Now 7 months later your phone is probably a laggy piece of shit
@@kirbstomped361 nope I fixed it and I didn't get the system update either
Waiting on the root I hope one day
I was thinking about going Apple but I wanna get this
Don't do that! Definitely won't get updates and won't support by developers.
Custom ROMs are a thing, Android is just better
Callum Leigh Montgomery 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 more prone to malware and viruses.
@@therainmakerinsider how?
@@therainmakerinsider never seen any evidence of that. And if that were true, it wouldn't be because of the architecture. It'd be Apple's deathgrip on their ecosystem; restricting freedom.
is the battery easy to access and remove or is this one of those "sealed" phones or soldered in batteries?
danusty
it's sealed. no battery access. I beware before buying this phone. Go look up actual reviews for it. I bought one 2 weeks ago and have had nothing but issues. it does run emulators very well, Dreamcast, PSP, PSX, N64... are crisp and pretty flawless.... but, The phone is glitchy. My phone pushes buttons by itself, constantly! it backs out of apps and turns things on or off. its a frustrating POS!
Channel ZERO thanks! Believe it or not, the major deal breaker for me is not having battery access
danusty
Yeah, no access to the battery was my first disappointment. I find it pretty necessary to have that access.
Does this have to be on a plan to work or can I buy just the phone and use it as a media device?
Does this phone supports HDMI out? I’m looking for a device that I could use for neTflix + VPN
Maybe an use gs8 could
Buy a usb c hub and hook it up to the USB c port on the phone
An used LG G5/V20/G6 will support HDMI out over USB-C and have decent power for emulation.
Pretty high value.
The 450 is the weak point but, at least for some, the screen size, resolution, and battery will make up for it.
Do you think this phone will be good for xbox gamepass when it becomes available to android phones?
No, get the newer model. It is called the Coolpad Legacy Brisa. It has a better cpu, and better soundcard chooser, better gpu
I think you shoul go and try Redmi note 8 / 8 pro
Its going to blow you away!
Can you show how to connect controllers on this phone please?
Wish i could buy it in the netherlands for 99dollars/euro
Would make a fine second gaming phone for when friends come over
