One of my burner tubes for my Wall gas double oven has an area that is corroded. I tried buying a replacement but was told its no longer available. I was wondering if I could use aluminum tape to cover the corroded area then with an sharp knife make the same shape cut out for the gas flame to ignite and burn. The corroded area is right at the gas igniter. I would clean the area then apply the tape which would be no wider then the damaged area 1/8-1/4 hole. Then cut through the tape for the flame to escape. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Very good summary. Is there one with specifics on the ingniter test ohms and how to check the gas valve?
Thank you, this was really helpful.
Can you tell me what model Maytag is shown in the video? It looks exactly like mine but my model # tag has been burned off.
