I was all set to watch this out of curiosity and luckily you used my exact Frigidaire oven as your example. Thank you I'm also using your other bake burner ignitor video to replace mine.
Even though this is 6 years old, the likely culprit sounds like it's the switch for that burner. Turning any the knobs will cause all the electrodes to spark, so if there's no spark from one knob, it's almost certainly the switch.
It is the most technical name for it. If you are a tech in a customers home referring to it as a range will maintain the illusion you know what you're talking about.
I have a troubles. I have an older kenmore electric oven/range with the seven button keypad controller in the center. I have replaced the control panel 3 times now. It works for a while, then after an hour or several hours, they start acting up. Beeping, losing programming, losing display, etc. It has 3 prong 240 ac hookup. I checked the wall power for any spiking, looks steady. Any ideas? Thank you. Frank
Hi, I have a GE XL44. 2 burners on the left side light fine, but the ones on the right can only be lit after I light the left side one first. The ones on the right click ok, but don't light without lighting the left side first. Please advise as to switch, igniter, or other replacement part that i need. Thanks.
Very nice video i bought brand new whirlpool gas stove 3 months back and yesterday all of sudden all 4 igniter began to continously sparking i had to unplug it what do you think could be the problem thanks
I have a question,on my ge gas stove the broil works fine. The oven ignitor comes on ,glows the gas turns on but has a smaller flame ,it's seems as the valve is not fully opening, any help would be appreciated
You guys are awesome! I asked a question about what I learned was the air control, basically the process of venturi. Within one day I got a great reply with link to video explaining my issue. That you again!
Mine has this coupling on it that connects the burner valve to the burner tube. It's weird because it is just a sleeve that is not even a fully close covering. So depending on how it is twisted. My question is, is this sleeve supposed to completely cover the line? Why is it even there? Aren't most screwed together?
Sadly, I have the same black stove and it didn't have clips. The top was held on by a bracket. Had to also remove the knobs and that panel to access 2 more screws to release the lid. All this after an hour of frustrating pulling, poking and screaming at it.
So the oven could take up to 90 seconds to actually ignite? I’ve never used a gas stove so I haven’t turned it on and left it on that long I just assumed if it didn’t lite immediately it wasn’t going to work.
My oven heats up, but then the whole oven seems to electric short and cuts off. Clock goes out, makes a rejecting beep noise, and I have to pretty much beat it by closing the oven door for it to come back on. Also the gas stove top takes a while to ignite sometimes. I am thinking I will get a new oven soon haha
just stumbled across this site. thanks for the info...just curious, do you HAVE to use the timer or can you simply hit 'bake or broil', then arrow up for temperature and the oven goes continuously until you hit stop?
Gas stoves and ranges produce carbon monoxide during use Levi, around 5 - 15 parts per million (ppm) if operating correctly. Anything over 35 ppm is a problem. A Carbon Monoxide Detector should always be installed in a kitchen with a gas range.

Awesome! We're happy we could help.
This was helpful and educational! Thank you so much!
Update: the faulty burner doesn't spark when I turn its knob. But the faulty burner does spark when I turn the other knobs. Please advise.

Best video I seen in RUclips in a while
I never knew these were called ranges I called them stoves
That's the term that the Americans use for cookers
I call them food burner

@@repairclinic Ok I subbed and thanks
i just got my 1st ge range. oven flames go off and on while baking. thought it was broken. so it switches off when it gets hot enough?
Yep! If the flame heated the air continuously, your oven would become overheated. It sounds like your oven is functioning properly.
nice lecture from an expert man, thanks.

I just realized how easy it is to clean and maintain my glass top electric range/oven
How many amps should the igniter draw to open the safety valve?

What is the name of the white stove
Thanks for this lesson. I need to ask one question. Cane we use oven igntion without safity defaice? If No please let me know the reason.
No you cannot use the oven without a safety device. The igniter and the safety valve all work together. One will not work without the other.
I dont even have a gas cooker but ended up watching this whole video

In the "Fix it Yourself" book the igniter is called a Glowbar.
