      Thank you, we're just happy to share some good information! Many of these appliances are more simple when you look at which components are inside. A heating element is just a resistor, and a switch just connects or disconnects power. These facts don't change just because the purpose of an appliance changes. So we try to simply these concepts with a focus on the components. If you're curious we have a few videos that we review circuit basics and components, you might find them interesting as well: ruclips.net/p/PLCo9SMjkdWBzlEqde1FSEIuCg2hx6_H-_

    Excellent video. I learned so much. My error code on my whirlpool indicates the control board but my element looks swollen. The control board was replaced last year and quite costly. I will check all the wires first but if the element is damaged is it possible that it might throw a control board code too? I am replacing the element anyhow because it doesn't look great. Thanks
    PS- I just learned you have a store in Winnipeg. Im so excited to get my parts there.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Год назад

      Thanks for watching, we're just happy to help both here on RUclips as well as in store! It depends on the model what codes will appear however if there was a surge of power that damaged the heating element, it can sometimes damage the control board simultaneously. If the element is damaged it should be replaced. You can test the element for continuity through the back: ruclips.net/video/ABope7vl5IY/видео.html
      As well it could be helpful to check the temperature sensor as this can give you an error code: ruclips.net/video/jnt_mUwdL8o/видео.html

    What about emf exposure? Will it be a health risk over long-term usage?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. The understanding of EMF exposure overtime is something that is not fully clear however all electronic devices produce some EMF. The power decreases significantly with distance so taking a step away from the stove or oven while you're cooking would decrease this exposure.

    I have a question for conventional ovens. If each, burner is on a separate circuit, what would happen if you crossed those circuits even when off? I believe my apartment had some crappy electrician exposed wire and both right burners were connected while cleaning and it shorted out killing the whole oven.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. It depends on which wires were exposed and where those wires were in the system. In some cases that might trip a breaker, a thermal fuse or damage a relay on the control board. With the power disconnected, and the back cover off you can look for any burnt, damaged or exposed wires. As well you can check to see if all wire terminals are secure and isolated. If you have a multimeter you can test to see if any wires have continuity to ground / are shorted.

    on an electric Kenmore range when it is started should both top and bottom heating elements turn red?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. The elements don't always glow bright red when they turn on. During a preheat both elements should be warm to help heat up the oven but they may or may not be red depending on the heat setting and the oven.

  • @terbus12156
    @terbus12156 10 месяцев назад

    I have a Kenmore 790.46709602 electric range. Not showing any error codes, but all four burner heating elements heat to high and stay on high. They won't cool down to simmer when turning the dials to a lower temperature setting. Any ideas as to what's causing this?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you for watching. Is this a new problem that happened all of a sudden? Based on how the heat switches work, it is very unlikely for all 4 heat switches to fail at the same time. Normally this problem might only occur in models that have burners controlled by a control board instead of heat switches.
      If you buy a new heat switch, and it fixes the problem for 1 of the burners, then it's best to replace all the switches.

    My Gma gave me her stove bc she thought her plugs were bad when she herd her stove spark! but I believe something happened to the control board bc when I got it home the oven no longer works but glass top does! It’s a brand new stove!

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. Since the stove and oven are on separate circuits you've already verified that the range is receiving power. If both oven elements are not working, then it could be an issue with the thermal fuse, a faulty temperature sensor or an issue with the control board: ruclips.net/video/96s7maybHlY/видео.html

    my whirlpool coil cooking range have problem . Only down heating element works while baking but not up. is that problem .. or thats the system how it works??

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. Does the oven heat normally, or is the oven not baking properly?
      Some models use both the bake and broil elements when baking, other models will use just the bake element. In the broil mode, all models will only use the broil element to brown the top of the food.

    How do you remove the top to replace spark module from a gas cooktop seal burner with no screws on the burner itself? Only the summer burner back left has a tiny screw on it. Sc8640edb4

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. We have dozens of videos on electric stove and oven repairs but haven't created any videos for gas cooktops yet. This model breakdown can help show you where some of the screws are and what pieces fit together. As well you could do a search for other Whirlpool gas cooktops as there are many individuals uploading their repairs that they film on their phones. Between that it should help. If there are no visible screws, there might be a hidden set screw that might be tucked behind somewhere.

    Can I change a 3prongcord to a 4 on the stove

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. The only difference between a 3 pronged cord and a 4 pronged is the fact that the ground wire has a separate terminal on 4 pronged power cord. You can see more detail of this in this video: ruclips.net/video/F-qMAJ6AY80/видео.html

    1:24 did this guy risk being shocked doing the hot side first vs the neutral side?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. Holding the multimeter leads from the insulated handles, wearing gloves, inserting the multimeter lead into the neutral side first, and using just one hand, are all ways to reduce the risk of a shock. In the example at 1:24 the probe was inserted into the neutral first.

    i have one burner that sometimes heats to the high setting when i have only put it on the number three setting , the stove is only 4 yrs old , and it doesnt do it every time ? what could it be?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  3 года назад

      Hi Richard, thank you for watching. It is most likely an issue with the heat switch for that burner. Over time the contacts can warp and can stay pressed together. This can prevent the burner from shutting off when it should be cycling off. You can see this in more detail in this video: ruclips.net/video/l39vOnhqnhg/видео.html

    Hello, When my stove/ oven is overused the control display on my appliance displays faintly and oven stops heating. Would you please help me?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching. Its possible that you have a re-settable limit switch that is overheating, and disconnecting power to the heating element. You can learn more in this video: ruclips.net/video/96s7maybHlY/видео.html
      As well the fact that the display gets weaker does indicate that the control board could be defective. Still its good to test the fuse and temperature sensor first.

    I was almost electrocuted by my apartment’s electric stove. They replaced the wires but doesn’t look right. The receptacle blew and it sparked like fireworks and burned a hole in my pan. Thankfully I had just bought a new pan with handles, I did feel a volt going through my arm, I let go. Now I’m afraid of my stove because the incident.

      Thanks for watching. It sounds like the stove receptacle wasn't installed correctly and was shorted through the frame of the stove. It is best to contact the people who installed it and get them to properly fix the issue.

    I just replaced the heating element in a Frigidaire range. When I plugged it back in and turned the oven on, I heard a small "pop" and the entire thing went black. Ive reset the breaker. It will not power on at all now. I'm assuming it blew a fuse but I can't find a thermal fuse or limiter or anything on the backing. What would you suggest next? The model number I believe is 316436266 but I think it's discontinued, I haven't been able to find any part guides.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching. Does the stove or cooktop indicator lights still work? If so then you've verified that there is still some power to the range so it could be a fuse, limit switch or issue with the control board (the pop could have been a shorted component on the board)
      Alternatively if there is no power on the entire range then you can always double check that the outlet is supplying the 240V of power, and the power cord is still good. You can also check the connects of the power cord to make sure it is secure in the terminal block: ruclips.net/video/wZwxewn2w44/видео.html
      In some rare cases a oven fuse does effect power to the whole range but it isn't that common.
      Just a note, a faulty control board will not shut off power to the entire unit unless you have a model that has the stove elements controlled by the control board. In most models that use individual heat switches, those circuits function independently from the control board.
      Hope this helps!
