  • I used to keep an old rake in my truck to get at the things that slid to the front of the bed. In this video I install the Highway Products XT4000 Truck Slide in my 2024 Sierra HD.

Great video! Question: are there 8 drill points or 12? (4 points @ front, middle and back of bed?)

Thank you. Only 8 total, middle and front. If you think about it all of the up force is in the front half of the frame.

One more question: Have you added any bed liner spray or grip tape to the top of the tray? Do items slide around on the tray to the point where some grip would be helpful?

I did not, but I can see that being helpful. It hasn't been a problem for me.

One more thought. Run it plain for a bit. I find I like to slide my packout boxes in and out on the smooth surface. You might find it's fine as is.

Howdy sir. I am strongly considering this system. Are you happy with it in all aspects? If you had the ability to build something similar your self (which you may), is there anything you would change about the design? Is this system full extension? For the price, it is toeing the build vs. buy line for me. I'm interest in your feedback. Thank you in advance.

I absolutely love the 4000lb model I have. If I built it myself, I'd try to cut some height out. You lose approximately 5" with this model. It's 75% extension-which turns out is more than enough. 100% sounds good, but I don't think it's necessary to reach everything. I'm only 5'11".
