After watching Chris White's new video, "Once Saved, Always Saved?", I've developed a new understanding of Romans 7. I now believe that the passage is about the carnal man, not a regenerate man. This realization has allowed me more room for holiness in my life. I was previously using verses like these in the wrong context. Once I understood that I am no longer that wretched man, I felt empowered to make significant changes in my life: to stop using curse words, to stop watching sinful TV and movies, to stop being surprised at the world for acting like the world, and to diligently attend church-not for my own benefit, but to please God, to worship Him, and to be there for my brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as the widows.
      Paul writes in Romans 7:21-25:
"I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God-through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin."
This passage illustrates the internal conflict Paul describes, highlighting the struggle between the desire to do good and the reality of sin within. The key point is that while the problem is the ongoing struggle with sin, the solution is Jesus Christ. Paul is not saying he continues to live in that wretched state; instead, he expresses gratitude for the deliverance through Jesus. This understanding has given me a new perspective on my spiritual journey and a greater sense of freedom to pursue holiness.

AMEN 🙏 ❤️. At least Tony Evans took responsibility for his sinful actions. I'm glad brother Jon McCray spoke on Christian apostolic judgement and biblical standards of morality which isn't prevalent in our modern society. I'm a 24 year old single Christian virgin guy working as a special education teacher and clinical mental health counselor. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant

Faithful pastors exist, but they’re not likely to be the famous ones that people get super impressed with. The most faithful ones are usually ones no one but God and their congregations are likely to know much of anything about.
And it is possible to be a growing Christian without gross sin destroying your life if you are trusting Christ, putting your sins to death each day by the power of the Holy Spirit and his grace, and are growing in knowing and applying God’s Word more to every aspect of life in a context of a healthy, biblical church together with other imperfect Christians seeking to do the same.

It's disturbing. We all sin. But those who are pastors are held to a higher standard and the bible says what that standard is. I think it's fishy to repent of a hidden sin years after the fact because that is not what the bible says to do for pastors at all.
      1 Timothy 3
      New King James Version
      Qualifications of Overseers
3 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
If clearly states in verse 5 if a man cant rule his own house how can he take care of the church. It's not my opinion.

We do not confess to another person, but we humbly come before Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness.
Priests are also men who need to bow before Jesus' standard of living.
Jesus was never of any religion, and those who follow Jesus through a religion have never been spiritually awakened because when one reaches the level of obedience to Jesus alone they will now know that all religion's are now of Jesus' way.
Those who have their spiritual eyes and ears open will understand what l say.
Jesus said My sheep hear My Voice and a stranger they will not follow. Do you hear what your spirit is saying. The bible was written so that we would know what God through Jesus did for this whole world, but it is our spirit that must be connected to our Creator, and now obedience and truth will come freely from those who are known.
      Shalom

the NT Scriptures have 27 books. that is where biblical Christianity is found. there is no evidence the disciples of the Lord kissing statues, wearing brown scapulars, praying with rosaries, praying to dead saints, selling forgiveness for money, performing a ritual (mass) to deliver souls from a place that does not exist (purgatory), rubbing their foreheads with charcoal, calling any of the apostles father (forbidden by Jesus, Matt. 23:9) claiming to be infallible, rejecting matrimony (Peter was married, Luke 4:38) confessing their sins to a man
etc. etc. apart from all that, I don't find any of the disciples of the Lord trying to rule the secular world by threatening kings and emperors with superstitious excommunication, torturing and robbing multitudes as the RCC did during the Inquisitions and Crusades. in fact the Bible condemns such behavior, "As a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings, and a partaker of the glory to be revealed, I appeal to the elders among you: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is among you, watching over them not out of compulsion, but because it is God’s will; not out of greed, but out of eagerness; NOT LORDING IT OVER THOSE ENTRUSTED TO YOU, but being examples to the flock." 1 Pet. 5:1-3

      # 1-calling the pope or priests father is forbidden, Matt. 23:9.
      # 2-praying repetitive prayers is forbidden, Matt. 6:7.
      # 3-the Mary of Catholicism is a fabrication. Jesus had brothers and sisters from the womb of Mary. Matt. 13:55, 56. Joseph began normal sexual relations with his wife after Jesus was born. Matt. 1:24, 25. The Bible says there is only one Mediator between God and man, 1 Tim. 2:5. Catholics claim Mary is a co mediator with Jesus. this is false.
you engage in endless praises of Mary. When a woman praised her to His face, did Jesus commend and encourage this woman to continue praising Mary? "While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed." But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it." Luke 11:27-28
Mary is NOT the Queen of heaven. she can not forgive sins.
      # 4-Catholics think the sacraments are a means to receive grace needed for salvation. the grace of God is given freely to the humble who repent of their sins, Jam. 4:6
      # 5-Most Catholics believe the Apostle Peter was the first pope and was not married. Peter was married, "Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her." Mark 1:30.
      # 6- idolatry. Catholics regularly bow down to idols, icons and images of Jesus, Mary and the apostles, kissing the feet of the statues and praying to them. the Bible condemns such practice. "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. "You shall not worship them..." Exd. 20:4, 5.
idolaters go to to hell, " But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, IDOLATERS, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8
      # 7-necromancy. Catholics are necromancers by praying to dead people, including Mary. the bible forbids this practice, "or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD." Deut. 18:11, 12
"And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?" Isa. 8:19
      # 8-scapulars are superstitious amulets. there is no evidence of Christians wearing them in the book of Acts.
      # 9-there is no purgatory. Pope Innocent IV invented it in 1254.
      # 10- the doctrine of extreme unction is false.
      # 11-the doctrine of "holy" water is false.
      # 12-the canonization of dead people is a blasphemy.
      # 13-celibacy is false.
      # 14-there is no evidence in the NT Scriptures of men confessing their secret sins to unknown men in a confessional. we confess to a known person a fault we may have committed against him/her and ask forgiveness from that individual for that particular offense. Luke 17:3, 4 this is what Jam. 5:16 is referring to. ONLY God can hear and forgive the secret sins of sinners.
      # 15-the catholic mass is a false ritual.
Rome claims its priests have the magic power to transform the wafer into the literal body of the Lord Jesus. but this "miracle" is only an illusion. the wafer remains a wafer. when God gives men the power to perform miracles, a real miracle takes place. when Jesus turned the water into wine, the water was literally transformed into wine.

Paul wasn't living in sin and hiding it. Paul was referring to his NATURE...not his behavior...in his NATURE, his flesh, he is a slave to sin like us all....but Paul was not using his free will to INDULGE in sin. Very very wicked to twist Scripture into diminishing what God says about teachers being held to a higher standard, and Paul met that standard, hence Paul never having to step down, or...be struck down like in the case of Ananias and Saphira....very very wicked sincerely to minimize sin and emphasize ONLY Grace when the Bible has lessons and Instructions for a myriad of situations, and not all situations call for unending Mercy....punishment and pruning are real, and I'm speaking from what God says, not from my flesh condemning a brother named Tony that is no greater than any of us, nor less valued than any of us....but all of Scripture applies to him like it all applies to all of those Redeemed....it's God's Glory to cover a matter, and in all likelihood, there is MUCH covered if elders are allowing the pastor to resign privately, as the alternative is bringing the matter before the Church publicly in many cases. We have no idea what's really been found, confessed, denied, or done....but it's never ever ever a minor issue when the Church correction is one of a pastor needing to resign is the truth. We can all choose Grace, but Grace is a salve to be applied to guilt, not innocence, so let's not diminish God's Word or the example of Paul by lowering Paul's obedience to be equal to a pastor that had to resign. Paul endured beatings, torture, imprisonment, and didn't falter.....Tony has done none of that....and seemingly, has faltered greatly, to which is Grace Available for HIM to choose, and we can and should likewise, but we also can should likewise look at every situation through every accurate filter of Scripture....and Paul saying he was the greatest sinner doesn't mean Paul was....you've missed the point completely if you think that....Paul could see himself as the greatest sinner of all because he was most intimately aware of all his thoughts, heart postures, behaviors...and can't see all of that within anyone else....but in light of seeing alllllll of his own internal thinkings and sin and actions, and unspoken ugly words like we all do, yes, Paul could humble himself to acknowledge to God that in his own view of himself he is the greatest sinner of all, which in reality, means he was really the most humble of all and whose attitude is recorded for OUR EXAMPLE to likewise see ourselves as....NOT for comparing Tony to Paul and use Tony's sins to be less than the "greatest sinner of all" who was far far far more enduring of great physical torment and pain repeatedly without growing bitter, or diving into sin to escape, or vindictively having those who tortured him hurt or ruining their lives which anyone with a brain can figure out how to do regardless of the era....Paul is an epic example of faithfulness, showing the distance we call can travel from the starting point of a foul and murderously evil sinner...to closing the distance between that vile sinful character that we all share as our starting point, and the character of Christ of whose Righteousness we are imbued with but are not equal to in our embrace or exuding love from.

That's absolute hogwash. Scripture candidly talks about false teachings & fleshly behavior in the last days especially!
If further indicates for the sake of the Authorship of that teaching or behavior, we must judge accordingly with scripture 'if" it is sound or not & then ensure that if behaviour &/or teaching is false or of the flesh we ARE to recognize this individual as such BUT (& I emphasize BUT) we ARE NOT to judge anyone's salvation, which can & is to be restored (as the prodigal son).
Further scripture "emphasizes" the significance of a leader / teacher's standard being "much stricter" (James 3:1; Luke 8; Leviticus 21) & this behaviour / teaching be scrutinized by the board & depending on the nature of the "sin" congregants, much more deeply!

No one is perfect and none of us are free of sin. The problem is that these men are in a position of power”power” and take advantage of it to commit sin. As we all know and understand, they will be judged accordingly. A sin is a sin, be it big or small. For how long did he hide this sin, sin upon sin, who did he sin against, most importantly, and who help him hide it for so long. They too are just as guilty as he is. The damage is done and once again Christianity suffers the consequences. The world loves these situations.

Tragically many pastors are among the walking wounded and rarely seek help until it's too late. He spent over 50 years pouring into others who was pouring into him. How many folks in his congregation were truly praying for him instead of constantly attacking, cursing, and slandering him. Remember, we all struggle with sin and if the video tape of our lives were put on public display -- we would be mocked and ridiculed, too. The gospel of John talks about how we can know we are saved (by believing in Jesus), and know that we will never lose that eternal security (no one can cause themselves to jump out of/fall out of the Father’s hand, literal translation). The other wonderful thing about John, is that the word repentance is not used once. While it is a very important part of us growing and maturing in our walk as believers, God is very clear that the entire reason for the book of John even existing is for it to show us how to be saved. We can rest assured that our forgiveness of sins and salvation from death/h3ll has nothing to do with works or anything else that we do or don’t do. It’s entirely on Jesus. We could even be saved, and at the end of our lives have nothing to show for it, like Paul talks about (all of our works and deeds being consumed by fire and deemed worthless at the judgement of believers’ works). But we would still be saved. It would be tragic to have nothing to show, rewards-wise, but we would still spend eternity with God.
The more we understand that our future is secure, the more joy we tend to have as believers, as that albatross of “losing salvation/never having been truly saved because of ____ sin” is not hanging over us. Understanding what we have as believers in Christ (eternal security and so much more), is such a freeing way to experience life. It enables us to serve God because we genuinely want to, and from a place of love and joy, rather than out of fear that if we don’t try hard and aren’t perfect enough on a consistent enough basis, that the albatross will turn out to be right.

Credit to Tony Evans for his confessions and his willingness to be accountable to the elder council. Many powerful people wouldn't have demonstrated this kind of humility...in any field or profession...

I agree that we tend to deify a great preacher and it is necessary for GOD to reveal that these preachers are sinners like we all are. Saved by the amazing grace of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!!

He is called to a higher standard. When the one in power controls the narrative and the outcome of their actions, doesn’t seem like repentance.

I now know I don't have to question Tony Evans on being accountable for his actions. Good man! I know I sin every day, multiple times. Not that it's okay in ANY way to fall short to God, but I know I'm not alone in the struggle. There are good leaders, setting the example in humbling themselves. It's a good day.
