I'm always begging for prayers for my friend Zack, since I got in early. He was in cult as a child and he has spiritually and emotionally abused. Please pray that Jesus takes over his life.
Well my dear brother in Christ, I think that there are too many negative reviews that are unjustified. We are to be careful when passing judgement on one who says he is a new convert to Christ. When we believe, does that instantly mean you are perfect? The path to everlasting life is not easy and fraught with pitfalls. A good read is Pilgrim's Progress ... see how he overcomes life's pitfalls with God's help.

I just got Baptised in February and as I was taught it's just a public commitment to start your journey but now I am on that journey it's kind of daunting because of how little I know and how much I have to learn. I watched a RUclips short less than 30 seconds long and had to Google most of words to figure out what they meant to then figure out what this 30 second clip was actually saying.
I pray for all those who have found Christ and are trying their best to learn and grow in their faith and hope others will do the same for me 🙏✝️ God bless you all!

Other religions it seemed you pray 5 times a day and certain days fasted but then you continue cussing and having multiple wives etc after all that. I can see this coming from non-believers, but "Christians" NO! Every Christian needs to realize one's walk with Christ, is their walk with Christ and not yours. We all had to go through cleansing, losing faith, persecution, division, worldly Christians, self righteous people, etc. It wasn't easy for us and it won't be easy for him. Let's pray for him. Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing. He's made a choice and all Christians should know, that's when the real fight begins.

All their hatred towards Christianity tells me that the 'atheists' who go out of their way to specifically hate on Christianity aren't actually atheist. They're anti-theist. If they don't believe in a God why would they so vehemently argue against those that do? It's because they do actually believe in God, they just don't want to love him or admit their faults. It's sad to see.

2 years ago I got baptised, i got saved from satanism. Still to this day i am cleansing, getting revelations from The Holy Spirit, repenting . It is a process . Dont expect Russel to have pastor- like wisdom, I am sure he is on a right path and Christ will be revealing Himself to him more and more.

Hey mate, there's not one man who's worthy of salvation. We are only worthy because of Jesus' finished and perfect work at the cross. When we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts God raised Him from the dead, we are saved. My baptism was life changing. When I was raised up from the water, I felt changed. I felt the power of the Holy Spirit on me. No one's lack of Faith can tell me any different.
I've been a Christian for nearly 50 years and am still learning and growing in my faith. Getting saved and baptized is the beginning of new life in Christ, not the culmination of it. We must allow space for God to continue His work in us and in others to mature in knowledge and wisdom and we are called to encourage one another in the process.

Sure is more so than not, not what the Scriptural austere authentic Jesus of the first century teaches. Every single true John 3:1-21 qualified believer / the remnant in the Scriptures had dramatic change that didn't take 50 years, go read Acts 19:18-20 as one of many Scripture proofs.

I'll hope we're all having that all the time every time.
Don't equate non-believers as demons, they have been affected negatively by Satan, but they are not literally demons, rather pray for them.
When my parents and aunts & uncles first became Christians, they were all smokers and drinkers. A few of them gave up drinking immediately and a few still had an occasional drink. I'm talking one or two drinks a month. The smoking was more difficult. Our churches pastor did bible studies in their homes and afterwards they would all light up a cigarette and the Pastor would stick around to chat with them and answer any questions. He never once told them they were not Christians because they didn't give up these habits or try to guilt them. The Holy Spirit did convict each one of them to quit smoking but it was at different times. So within 6 months, they were all nonsmokers. I'm talking about 6 people. Praise God, to Him be the glory!

As much as I think all of those things are bad. I rarely drink, I do use nicotine but not smoke cigarettes. We all imperfect sinners, have a the grace of God and know it's okay. If you have a drink once and a while you aren't unloved in gods eyes. As long as we are not making idols of them, that's where the problem is. Imo. God bless.

@@mbbeautea6986 No offense to you, but I've had this occur spontaneously while meditating for months and I was a changed man completely. I hadn't been practicing Christianity for about 20 years at that point and was completely disinterested in religion and hated the church (for very good reasons). Not only did I not have fear of the afterlife, I didn' t fear life either. Nothing against you but comments like these are just... Your own perception of the people and world outside of your religion, which in turn will obviously push skeptical or non abiding people away and portray you in a certain light. Not fearing death is not proprietary to Christianity fyi.

They prodigal son didn't come back because he had a perfect faith in his father. He was hoping for food as a servant in His house. Leftovers. He showed up, but not with the intent we expect "real believers" to have. Let's make sure we are NEVER EVER one of the voices on the way of the prodigal son home saying, you don't belong there, you haven't changed enough to present yourself to Him.

The prodigal son was already a son before he left. Never lost his sonship. So it's about Christians going wayward and coming back. It's not about loss of salvation but about loss of inheritance.

I think as Christians we should pay attention as well. The church has also hurt a lot of people and that should not be ignored either. Got to love the cars with the "Jesus Loves Me" bumper sticker who blocks a neighbors drive way while at Bible study, gossips and causes strife at church, and who judges the world but does not judge themselves by the same measure. We are to try to be Jesus's ambassadors here on earth NOT the Pharisee. ❤🕊️

I can relate to Russell bc when I got baptised 20+ years ago, I felt changed too when I came up from the water. It's hard to explain but I felt lighter, freer , etc. I had horrible panic attacks for years before and after they had stopped. I did at some point fall away from God for years again and got hooked on dope but last year I cried out to him after being hooked on drugs for almost 20 years and HE heard me 🙏 at Easter weekend last year my son found me homeless and took me home with him and his family a few states away and got me into a methadone clinic. Now I'm clean and back with Jesus and I ain't NEVER walking away again! Thank you Jesus for saving me again. I love Russell and am soooooooooo happy for him!!! God bless you Russell 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Praying for Russell Brand, once I was baptized I began the most difficult walk in my spiritual life. Spiritual warfare became so much more intense! The devil doesn’t let people go easily! And when people don’t realize just like Job we are tested they start to think Jesus has abandoned them, but really he is there holding you, waiting for you to realize you have the power to overcome the spiritual warfare in your life.
Stay in the word! Pray and fast. Fasting is not just food, it’s from anything that can be a distraction from you reading the word of God. I gave up my IG and FB pages. I started as a fast and never went back. Closing whatever doors the devil has access to you by trying to make you fall back to the person God wants to change you from.
Let’s pray for all new believers as Christians. I thank God for all the Christians who shower me compassion and gave me wisdom in love instead of judgment.

I just listened (my 94 yr old friend's son) spew on an on that he knows his past lives and started putting my faith down, he was so full of himself and certainly not at peace. I would have liked to defend my love of Christ but it would have made him just fo more. I loved that I could finally get in my car and talk to God. Jesus took away my fighting to make myself heard. I have won the love of the Lord without even going into battle, what a blessing that is.

I didn’t know everything about Christianity when I got baptized. I’m thrilled for him! Jesus satisfies. In Gods presence is fullness of joy and pleasure forevermore...no substance/drug/alcohol can compare to the peace that passes understanding that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives. I am going to have to continue praying for Russell. He is going to have some spiritual warfare, he has pissed off Satan. He will be tested but he seems strong and will get through it. When I was a new Christian, I felt alone. A lot of friends rejected my decision but I did not fit in with the Christians yet either. My life is in complete peace at this point as I am trusting in my Heavenly Father.

Great commentary at the end. The way you described salvation is exactly the way it happened with me overtime. We have to relearn our thinking, it takes time and we have to die to all of the places in our heart that don’t belong to God.
He’s very new to this. I think people forget all the stuff they got wrong when they first became Christians (not that any of us are perfect still). Give him grace and lovingly correct him, that’s our job.

@@lukemurray4950 When Heiser says that, I understand him to mean that baptism is a public declaration that one believes on and is going to follow the Creator of this world. In so doing, a person is also declaring that they are not going to be conformed to a world system that is shaped and empowered by spiritual beings and forces that are opposed to the Creator. It’s a public declaration of which side one is joining in a spiritual war.

In my words
When we do the Sacrament of Baptism, we are doing a few things.
1. We are visually showing the world that we are identifying with the death of Christ Jesus ( going under the water is representative of dying to self, dying to our sin, etc)
2. We are declaring to Jesus our allegiance is to you, we identify with your suffering, and we are acknowledging that your blood washes away our sins.
3. When we come up out of the water, we are identifying with the resurrection of Jesus, and now we are IN Christ and so, therefore, clean & righteous before God.
4. We are declaring to the enemy through the process of baptism that our allegiance is now to God the father through the son Jesus Christ. We are reminding them that Jesus died for mankind. We are the only recipients of salvation, and we are now Adopted Sons and Daughters of Christ.
They will never have salvation. And so we declare war, and that we are on the side of God.

Russell… I’ve been an ordained Unitarian / Universalist minister since 1978 and within this past year I’ve been called back to Christianity. I’m HERE to stay. It’s been a wild ride so far but I’m getting stronger and learning what I’d thought I knew. But this is More than even (truly) learning the Book. It’s so, so much bigger. I’m in and I’m working hard to stay and become more and more connected to God, Christ and the Holy Spirit. Hang in there, bro. Keep connecting.

@@uhura647 well the simple answer is it's called faith. The slightly longer answer is having studied many faiths I find faults, man made aspects, and cults like behavior in the latter. Now many uninformed people would say Christianity was made by kings for people to become pacified but that's just shows their lack of knowledge as Christianity as it surely does not preach that. It's mostly the opposite....but again that's a longer answer. Now many kingdoms have pushed versions of Christianity that I find bastardized like most churches today I wouldn't waste my time in. For instance did you know the Bible says don't fear the heathen ways but directly says don't celebrate Christmas naming exact details of bringing a tree into your home and dressing it with what is basically now called tinsel and decorations and such. It was a tradition based on Nimrod. Anyway many churches, sects, religions have been manipulated but the faith is the most complex and true path. Archaeological finds of ancient Bibles reveal that man has not altered the words of the Bible either more than a comma or two here and there. Yes in translation but that is were Bible study and historical contexts comes in. It's a long journey and while you will need to find your own path I hope one day you find faith. I respect many religions s actually Muslims more than many but that's another long topic. Good luck if you do take the journey.

The church where I was baptized didn’t talk about not messing with New Age practices after you come to Christ. My walk was lukewarm and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It was Stephen Bancarz and Doreen Virtue’s videos that woke me up to it. Thank God for them. Give Russell time, and by all means lovingly encourage him to leave Tarot and all that stuff alone. It takes time to get through the Bible, and the crib notes on these practices should be shared with all new Christians to keep them going in the right direction.

It's because Catholicism is a cult that has been widely taught & accepted as being part of the Christian faith. This causes people to be inoculated against true Christianity.
I've seen that too. I've also seen those from IFB (Independent Fundamentalist Baptist) backgrounds turn strongly against Christianity. I hope more people will encounter the simple Biblical Gospel.

I’ve been watching Brand’s news videos almost daily for 2 years. Little by little I have witnessed him opening his eyes to true salvation in Jesus Christ, and he’s also been seeing the biblically prophetic things happening in the world in real time.
I believe he is genuine. I had big doubts about Kanye, and sadly my fears were true about him.
I welcome Russel to our giant Christian family.
