On one hand I am disappoint this isn't "the" Peter Green, but on the other hand, I'm glad I found this video...what a wonderful piece of music and brilliant guitar playing.
Dear God in heaven!!! This! This! THis is what perfection and mastery sound and look and feel like. I have been perfecting this song since I was in high school ( Class of 92) and I still nowhere near this level of proficiency and beauty.
THank you for sharing, Peter.
Wow I was thinking the "other" Peter Green when I clicked, but wow, that was friggin mint!! Seriously, that was awesome!
There aren't enough superlatives to describe the beauty of this track and the mastery of guitar in this video. Quite simply, I'm blown away.
It's certainly one of Jorma Kaudonen's finest compositions.
I've seen Jorma do this a hundred times and that was as good and as accurate as I've seen him play it. Note for note, notwithstanding a handful you threw in there for good measure. Outstanding.
Yes, great playing. For me somewhat marred by booming on the bass.
Not note for note.
You've seen Jefferson Airplane live, several hundred times? Doubtful.
@@jcout25 Jorma has done hundreds, if not thousands, of shows solo and with Hot Tuna since Jefferson Airplane disbanded.
@@jcout25 I never saw the Jefferson Airplane and I didn't say I did. What's with the hostility?
Having been present to enjoy a number of Jorma's live renditions in person since the late '60s this is easily the best cover I've ever heard. Way to go, Peter, you've been practicing and then some. I'll be listening, thank you.
The Masterpiece remains just that in the hands of Peter Green, what did anyone who appreciates this piece expect? My God, the founder of Fleetwood Mac, Blues Daddy of the "Day", of course this is an exceptional version of a Great Piece. Thank you (whom ever you are) for the posting it.
Awesome interpretation of a Jefferson Airplane favorite! This guy definitely knows how to play it! Bravo!
Bravo! I'm a big fan of Jorma and you have done this tune justice - and then some!
Best cover of this I've seen. I got goosebumps watching you play with that huge smile on your face. This is how it's done! Thank you for the inspiration!
Sounds exactly like Jorma and the original version!!! You are amazing!!!!
"Do you have to leave now, can we get some coffe?"
"Sure, Where?"
YAY im not alone
my heart
I know! 😭😭😭
Just watched the closing scene after todays news.
Forty five years before the date of that performance, this guy would have been filling large coffee houses, sizable indoor venues and small stadiums. This is a pretty fresh refresh. The tempo is a bit faster. He doesn't do pull offs but he makes the strings earn their pay. And he makes it look so easy.
As a longtime fan of Jorma Kaukonen, I say amazingly well done sir.
That was possibly the most impressive live performance I've ever seen.
Well, that's just jaw dropingly amazing. If just the audio I'd have sworn that was Jorma playing and would have said you're crazy if you told me it was someone else.
Fucking spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!~~~~~~ for posting this... this tune is a memory of my late teen years... brings back so much joy for the amazing
times I was so fortunate to have been a part of as an up and roaming young musician... Peter Green's music is new to me...
he is just incredible!!
OUTSTANDING !! ++++++
Wow! What a virtuoso performance👋👋👋.
One of the most beautiful compositions for the guitar and your version does it real justice. Love how you extended it. Joyful performance.
The only word I can think of is "Wow". This guy is frigging amazing. I am mesmerized watching this and love seeing the pleasure he is getting from being in total control of this song.
Most excellent.....why would anyone give this a thumbs down? Great guitar work!
Peter you nailed it, it sounds really really fantastic!
I’m overjoyed with your rendition of this beautiful song. It means so much to me having discovered it on a mysterious mix tape made by a friend of a friend from Spain during some difficult and brilliant times, summer of ‘94. The way you play it is with so much love, thank you for sharing your performance.
Wow! that was sweet!
Cheers to Paul Kantner too. RIP
Oh man is this guy good! He nails it almost note by note, FEEL BY FEEL! Nice. And the smile on his face, haha, brilliant!
Beautiful. I've always loved that song! Well done!
amazing clarity sounds , breath taking performance this song makes my mind wonder back in time . love it
fantastic performance ! thank you !
Well Done, Peter! After seeing this for the first time after many years after your original performance, I'm certain you would have made Jorma proud!
Absolutely beautiful ! Completely amazing in each and every way ! I was crying half way through this ! Clapton cannot play this well! If you can listen to this without shedding one tear then you are a pjyscopath and I don't care to know you !
Love this song and you honored it well.
Ummm... wow! I'm kinda blown away. I've seen Jorma do this on multiple occasions over the years and I think you're definitely showing up the master on his own song! Well played sir, well played!
10 years on, just popped back for another taste - lovely.
Excellent. Nothing else needs be said, except having the name Peter Green, being a guitarist, like being named Keith Richard. ;-)
just a perfect rendition of this awesome song. The control is amazing. Wow !
thank you,the vibrations of your guitar remind me of my fathers playing-.beautiful thanks again.
Peter, YOU'VE been practicing! lol. One of the best versions I've heard.
If an original cover could possibly exist, you have succeeded. Very well done. Thanks. I love it.
Great rendition of one of my favourites. Beautiful tone. Thank you.
i love the way you play, not just technically but the way you smile and bounce around! you put me in a good mood! :)
Wonderful guitarist! Love how your whole body is making music!
Really good, but can you imagine being an excellent young guitarist and having the name Peter Green. He should change his name, maybe to Peter Bowie.
Martin Zaehringer haha lol
It's an old post...but still deserves an lol :-)
Peter Gunn
Keep coming back to this. Heard this version years ago. Will say, the first time I heard the song was the final episode of friends. Loved it. Found out it was a Jefferson Airplane song. Watched many performances by Jorma himself. But this tops them all. It’s a fantastic rendition. Would love to here more from you, Peter. Stay well.
I don't now if tops Jorma's but this is by far and away the best rendition of the original.
Ha, this is great ... as I was looking for more stuff from Peter Green (the Peter Green that played in Fleedwood Mac for some time) I came across THIS Peter Green. And it turns out to be a guitarist I heard a looong time ago and really loved his fingerstyle. I only remembered his first name 'Peter' ... well and here he is. I found him again by sheer coincidence ... or by coincidental same name, lol ツ
Going to have this played at my funeral luncheon.
Outstanding!!
Excellent tone and well played!
Brilliant!! Passion, and played from the 'heart' sounded great!
F.R.I.E.N.D.S :°°( brought me here ! the best thing ever
Oh, man... You nailed it. Beautiful.
Holy crap and apologies to Mr. Green. It only took me ten years to get here. Embryonic journey I suppose. Jorma will be honored at how you've perfected his tune.
Incredible 😊
Bravo, Sir!
Beautiful version.
Best cover I’ve ever heard.
Faithful to the original!
How could any have a problem with this? Beautiful.
Gorgeous, thanks.
I'm blown away. I never thought I'd see anybody tackle this song and get it right !
+haworthhoarder It really is not that hard but can make you sound like a virtuoso especially amped with reverb. I have recording of Jorma playing this in 1962. He was my teacher and he was called "Jerry".
Very Sweet PeterGreen !!!
Excellent song, Excellent Jorma and excellent cover. Thankyou.
There a now two Peter Greens I had to put my hat off!! You got it !!!
Spectacular mellow tune , merry Christmas all !

Nice repeats throughout. Great ending. Terrific performance. Keep it up.
Excellent! Thanks for posting!
Great energy!
This is a great tune, heard it 1st on a Jefferson Airplane video. Loved them both, thank you for this great number:o)
thank you MONSIEUR, seems so easy !
Beautifully played!
Very clean rendition. He actually covers that break at 1:15 more smoothly than Kaukonen did on the master recording :-)
Nice and tight !!!
