Kay so whoever thought combining Time and Test Drive was a mad genius and I want to throw all the money at him/her.

I know this is from 6 years ago but hey, I needed the nostalgia dopamine. But the ballad has lean on me/falling slowly mash up and it’s fire two

Hearing them play John Powell's brilliant music from the How To Train Your Dragon movies made me love this show even more!

how long have you been watching Dci?

    • @TheManyNations
      @TheManyNations 9 лет назад +19

Quite awhile now. I know that there are a million other shows where they play harder music or do harder drill better than these guys, but the passion of this section of the show just gets me.

Dude at one point they play like the main melody for How To Train Your Dragon lol when the vibes and stuff are going crazy after they make the big triangle in front.

This is literally my favorite show ever just because of the pure emotion it was played with. Absolutely love it.

alienlama8 Thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! There were some heavy tears flowing in that final set. I came from a band program with only 21 members in total (7 winds, 7 percussion, and 7 color guard). I was fighting all summer to make everything as perfect as humanly possible. In the end, I was proud of how far I came and how much I grew in just a short amount of time.
My family in Boston has forever impacted my life. I am so grateful for the privilege to march with such an amazing group of musicians and human beings.
If you ever need some help and want to get involved with Boston, or any other drum corps, hit me up! I'd be glad to help out

@@SuperJustachannel That's amazing!, I wish I could get in drumcorp someday

@@Chazahc18 The best thing I ever did was audition. Get the sheet music before the camp by registering through their website and practice practice practice.
Focus on your fundamentals: lip slurs, technicals (chromatics and the like), articulations, and tone. Lastly, we implement the above with the old saying "if you sing it you can play it".
Next, if you have the means, a lesson or two from expert in your instrument helps. This could be a professor at a local college, a music major, or your music teacher(s).
I don't know if corps change their marching techniques from year-to-year, but I'd watch some videos of them marching; find some ground level rehearsal day footage. Use these to get a visual feel for their technique.
Have fun. Audition weekends provide a glimpse into the life of a corps member's day on tour. But it also provides you an opportunity to learn about yourself as well as developing you into a more well rounded preformer.
If you have questions, r/DrumCorps, on Reddit.com, is a good resource to tap into. It can be gossipy and quite troll during the off-season but they'll always try to help answer questions.
Finally, don't forget to have fun. Yeah, drum corps is hard and sometimes overwhelming but you're only allowed so many years to march.
      Got for it!

This is really freaky, I read the poem that this show was based off of ("I Will Rise") just yesterday. I didn't know that this show was from the poem, they even said the lines from it.
