    The stuttering in GTA V was because we let the fps get too high. The engine it runs on can cause stutter.

    8th gen Intel is not what I would call "old" anyway. Their prices for those are pretty impressive. That CPU is only like 3-4 years old, and still plenty capable for gaming.

    So something to bare in mind with this card, its designed with PCIE 4 in mind as its only running at x4 lanes if you run it in PCIE 3 mode it'll have a massive hit to performance. Look it up.

    • @ryandowling4026
      @ryandowling4026 Год назад

      They were running it in 3.0 and it had plenty of performance to give. I don’t think pcie gen 3 vs 4 matters in most games until you step up to the 6500xt. 4 gen 3 lanes is enough for the 6400.

    I really like these mini gaming pcs.
    I had exactly the same hp prodesk and wanted to fit a gtx 1650 in it until i realized that the pcie x 16 slot is the lower one. So i sold that one again because the rx 6400 wasn't out yet and got one from lenovo with an i5 9400. The ones from lenovo are a little higher and have more slots. The temps are also much better there. Unfortunatly you can't undervolt the cpu on the lenovo.
    Currently i'm rocking on a acer veriton mini tower with a gtx 1650s. Undervolted both cpu and gpu to not stress the 180 watt psu so much. I never even reached 100 watts while gaming before.

    • @ucw1637
      @ucw1637 Год назад

      If you go with the elitedesk version, the case is both wider and the pci slot is closer to the processor vs next to the psu. you can also run a 2 slot card in those.

    Another things is you could probably use that upper slot for dual slot rx 6400s, that PCs seems to have a pci x8 with a slit at the end to fit the “x16” length of the card, what people forget or don’t know is that the 6400 is a PCIe 4.0 x4 soo regardless you can put it in a x4 or x8 slot and doesn’t need a x16 like the 1650 or the other x16 cards, if it has the little slot at the end of the lane to allow the gpu to sit right :)

  • @Chris-tf7gi

    I'd like to see what an RTX A2000 does in one of those HPs. If that PCI 1x slot is open ended it'd work and still crush a GTX 1650 GFX department in a small form factor system. Running an Optiplex here with an I7 4770, 32gb DDR3, 2 1tb SSDs as a media / gaming PC. That? About $250. Drop a $450 RTX A2000 in there??? You now have a killer small form factor PC. $700 total and while its almost certainly possible to do better, there is something super cool pumping well over 100FPS in AAA titles in a small box that continued its journey as corporate e-waste. (Maybe starting out hooked up to a cash register.) I'm so much more interested now in these small form factor systems than boxes built from scratch now. Yes, that A2000, the one with the real 3060 core in a low profile card requiring no extra power. With miners dumping them new cards are not all completely unreasonably priced.

    Great video like always guys. But just wanted to give a reminder that the 6400 has some limitations. This cards only runs on x4 and if it doesnt have pci 4.0 which 8th gen doesnt have, the card loses performance since it will run at pci 3.0 x4. When I ran my tests on it, I was able to set some of the settings back a bit and it kept the whole thing under 90 as opposed to just letting her rip. I ended up with a pretty consistent frame rate that way. The other way to help the whole thing breath is to pop the top off (i know it's a little counter intuitive), and the whole thing drops into the 70s in a hurry with the open air rushing in.

    To be honest unless you’re able to build and maintain your own PC I don’t ever recommend doing anything like building a cheap PC like this. Anyone that is computer savvy at all, ends up being tech support for people constantly all because they can’t Google things or even try and figure things out themselves. I always push them towards a console for that fact. Also those systems have high failure rates too, and suggesting that someone who needs to buy something on the cheap to buy one, and it ends up failing is a disaster for the person who bought the machine.

    The problem with the 8th & 9th gen i5's Intel cpu's is that they only have 6cores and no hyper-threading, they can stutter a lot in today's AAA games. I would put Intel 10th gen & Ryzen 3000 series as my minimum gaming cpu's for AAA pc gaming today.

      Usually capable to he paired with upto a 6600 and even a 3060 with no issues.
      This is straight up nonsense.

    If i were to ever buy a pc like that, id change the chassis like an yesterday. That gpu wont last long with that type of ventilation. Sure it can game but that is a typical old school pc desktop for office purposes. That board also just looks so old lmfao. Not to be rude but i feel i can put something better than that for the same price.
