  • A how-to on the folding and tying pattern to dye a Water Drop Ripple pattern. The MOST popular Casual Collisions video!
    Have fun experimenting with the design!
    The $3509 value in the title refers to the amount I've received from monetization of this video since it was published. The totals were last updated on 8/3/2021.
    I'll update the title each month or so to show the current income from this video.
    Note: This is not typical of the monetization I receive from the tie dye videos. The overwhelming majority are much, much, much less.

      I appreciate the compliment. I just found a "test" online to determine "What chess piece am I" and it suggested Bishop. So, I'm going with, "I'm the Tie Dye Bishop". Yeah... that sounds kind of odd. But, I am kind of odd. Hmmm... Maybe I should stop before I dig any deeper. ;)

      @@CasualCollisions I love this design but you totally lose me when you put one sleeve into the other. I just can't follow it. Would it turn out the same if they just lay on top of each other?

    • @CasualCollisions
      @CasualCollisions  5 лет назад +5

      No, the pattern won't line up properly on each of the sleeves due to the thickness of the material. I use the same method for folding all of the designs that are folded across the center line as it places the sleeves next to each other so the pattern properly lines up. I've made a note to make a short video to show a different view of how it's done and why. I'll try to get it posted within a week.

    • @CasualCollisions
      @CasualCollisions  5 лет назад

      The shirt should be soaked in soda ash *before* adding the dye. And, if you add too much liquid during the dye process, you can add additional soda ash to the surface to help increase the chance of having a saturated result.

    After the shirt is completely dried; how do you wash in the washing machine?

    • @CasualCollisions
      @CasualCollisions  5 лет назад

      The dye "sets" by chemically bonding with the fibers of the fabric. I do a single wash with the freshly rinsed tie dyes by themselves - after that, we're an extremely lax household when it comes to "sorting" laundry. Basically - we don't sort clothes. Everything gets washed together and I've never had an issue with bleeding. Note: We wash clothes in warm water only. So, if you wash your clothes in hot water, you might have different results.

    Hice una camisa con esos dos tonos de azul, pero al momento de lavarla las partes blancas que deje quedaron pintadas de azul, mi Pregunta es porque se me corrió la tinta?

    • @CasualCollisions
      @CasualCollisions  6 лет назад

      If you're trying to leave white areas undyed, you need to be very careful during the dye process to not allow the dye to bleed into those areas. Then, during the washout process, you need to make sure you washout the dyed areas quickly and completely before placing the shirt into the washing machine. If you don't remove all the unbonded dye in the sink, it *will* bleed into the white areas while in the washing machine.
