Wow! I love that you did two different versions. I think this pattern is so cool and was wondering how it was done. Thank you for such a clear and precise demonstration Riah. Terrific as always!
This was an awesome video. Loved the side by side technique comparison. And I especially loved the ruler technique for accuracy. These comparison videos would make great future videosm
Super freakin awesome design! I absolutely love this. The sinew design is my favorite. The sinew gives it an abstract third dimension that makes the whole design pop.
😍❗️ At the time of showing the results I was like: "OK, the one made with no sinew will not have any design." And that was exactly what surprised me and I love it! Of course I like both but, the one with no sinew... 😍 After the years I've been following your YT channel you never stop surprising me Riah! 💐🤗
That’s awesome and I’m so glad to hear it!i prefer the one with sinew but the one workout is definitely cool! Thank you my friend and I’m glad you like it!😊💜
I love this fold! I have only ever tried it with sinew so seeing the difference with the kite string is beyond helpful to know how the sinew changes the pattern so much! Thank you for making this!
Hi Riah, thanks for all your awesome videos. As an aside, I like your videos way better when you're in them, your personality really shines thru. Hope you and your family have an amazing day
Thank you so much for making this video! I woke up today ready to make a glitch shirt but wasn't sure if I should use kite string or send you. I didn't think to use both! I can't wait for my results. Thanks again for being so awesome!
Absolutely love this pattern which I first saw done by Sonia E. I did a tapestry, 2 shower curtains and a bunch of tees with it. I luv the colors you used!!
I wish i was patient with this kind of stuff. But my niece and i were talking while do some tye died wishing we knew of other ways. We get stuck i n just rolling in in a circle for a spiral so next time we are going to watch some of your videos first so we can pretend like we know what we are doing😂
Wow they both look fantastic! I think I prefer the one sinew tied only because I feel like it gives the shirt more detail. I watched a tutorial recently and I was like omg I would have thrown that shirt across the room 😂. They were having a difficult time with the last step, it was there first time. Anyways, I think I might give this one a try, hopefully everything will go smoothly.
I believe so. From my experience if you ice dye it’s better to put dye on it while it’s still damp for better saturation but liquid dyeing is better if it’s dry 😊
Do you know if it makes a difference to soak in soda ash before folding/spiraling/scrunching vs. after? Would you get the same result if the shirts are already bound when they go into the soda ash?
I soak before just because if you do it after…the sinew could block a large area off from the soda ash soak and you likely wouldn’t get the saturation you are looking for.
I’m not sure what you mean about the folds…there are times they overlap some and other times they are just next to each other. I tie the sinew as tight as I can ☺️❤️
Very cool! I love seeing the difference between the two. I see an eye in the green on the 2nd one. You've probably already answered this but what is the difference between the kite string and the sinew?
Thanks Tami! The kite string just holds it together a little tighter than rubber bands but doesn’t make white lines. Sinew makes the white lines and can be tied super tight.
Thank you!!!! If you go to my website www.riahstiedye.com and use the contact page to email me we can chat about it. You can pick your colors and I can get the info I need from you privately ☺️💙
They are both awesome, but I have to confess that I like the sinew glitch a bit better! You need to include a disclaimer that says, "not for the beginner" with this shirt!
Thank you so much! I feel like beginners can definitely pull this off. When I first saw the glitch I thought it would be super hard but it really wasn’t ☺️❤️
Sinew is a waxed string and it helps really tie tight and create white lines in your tie dye…it’s pretty important for any of the intricate designs as well.
Thanks!
Thank you so much and you're very welcome!😊🌈
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! You're the only one I've found who actually shows the folding in a clear way, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching! ☺️❤️
Thank you for showing the sinew vs no-sinew side by side. I both enjoy and appreciate your videos.
Absolutely! Thank you so much! ❤️
Very cool to see the same design in two different ways!! Definitely wanna see more videos like this!
Thank you! I definitely will! ☺️❤️
These are so fun to watch and I love this music in the background.
Wow! I love that you did two different versions. I think this pattern is so cool and was wondering how it was done. Thank you for such a clear and precise demonstration Riah. Terrific as always!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video ☺️❤️
This was an awesome video. Loved the side by side technique comparison. And I especially loved the ruler technique for accuracy. These comparison videos would make great future videosm
Thank you so much! I’ll definitely do some more! ☺️❤️
I loved your idea for the second ruler on the cross pleat and on the final fold. I always struggle with those parts! Thank you!
The sinew made a big difference-wow! Either way, so beautiful!!
Thank you so much! ☺️❤️
This is GENIUS! Using yardstick on top looks like getting clean folds will be much easier. I'm stoked to give glitch a try! Thanks so much😊
Yes! I’ve learned though to use an aluminum yard stick so it’s thinner and easier to press your folds down 😊
Super freakin awesome design! I absolutely love this. The sinew design is my favorite. The sinew gives it an abstract third dimension that makes the whole design pop.
Thank you so much and I agree! The sinew definitely adds more depth to the piece!😊💙
Thanks for a side-by-side comparison. This one was next on my list. Think I’ll use sinew Thanks and happy Valentine’s Day of😁✌️
Awesome! Thank you so much Greg! ☺️❤️
Thank you my friend and I’m glad you like it!😊💜
That was a fun comparison, Riah, I think I love #2 the most. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Crystal! It’s number 2 for me! I’m glad you like it my friend!😊💙
Thank you for showing with and without sinew- very helpful demo!
Absolutely! Thank you! ☺️❤️
I love this fold! I have only ever tried it with sinew so seeing the difference with the kite string is beyond helpful to know how the sinew changes the pattern so much! Thank you for making this!
You’re very welcome! Thank you so much! ☺️❤️
WOW ! AMAZING ! Love them both they are SUPER !
Thank you Bill! ☺️❤️
Great demonstration Rhia. I really like this fold. They both turned out beautiful. You always do such an amazing job. 🤗
Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words! ☺️❤️
Love these, Both Of them! I love the colors and the design!
Thank you so much! ☺️💙
Both gorgeous pieces of art have to admit though I like the no sinew better.
Me too 😊 Thank you!
Both of them are crazy awesome! You've outdone yourself again
Wow thank you! These are my first ones ☺️❤️
You have outdone yourself again!. I love both of them! Thanks for the process training.
Thank you and you’re very welcome!😊🌈
Beautiful! I love rainbows. Next time I make one I’m going to try sinew. ❤️🌈
Thank you! I love rainbows too…especially tie dye ones ☺️ ❤️
They book turned out great. You make it look so easy.
Thank you! I’m glad you like it! I’ve just had a lot of practice is all😊💜
Hi Riah, thanks for all your awesome videos. As an aside, I like your videos way better when you're in them, your personality really shines thru. Hope you and your family have an amazing day
Thank you so much! Yeah me too but I literally look like a mom who got ran over by a car all the time 🤣
@@RiahsTieDye nah, your beautiful soul is what is noticed. So what if your hair wasn't just done.
I love this design! They both came out great but I think the second one looks more glitchy. I'd love to see more comparison videos like this one.
I’ll definitely make more ☺️ Thank you so much! ❤️
Glitch with a sinew is something to watch! 🥰
Yeah it definitely makes a difference! Thanks! ☺️❤️🌈
They're both so awesome!!
Thank you! ☺️❤️
Clever use of the rulers, thank you!
Thank you and you’re very welcome!😊💜
those are beautiful Riah! thank you for the tutorial. nicely done.
You’re very welcome! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much for making this video! I woke up today ready to make a glitch shirt but wasn't sure if I should use kite string or send you. I didn't think to use both! I can't wait for my results. Thanks again for being so awesome!
That’s great! I hope they turn out the way you were hoping!!! Thanks! 😊
Rush, you are truly a master of the craft! Great video 👍🏼
Thank you so much! I’m really happy you think so 😊💜
Brilliant! Love all of your work Riah!
Thank you so much!😊💜
You're simply amazing! Love the folding technique compared to others I've seen. Thanks so Much.❤️
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! ☺️❤️
I like your playlist, too! Awesome pattern video, awesome music. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! I appreciate it! ❤️
Wow!! Love!! You got sooo good at this!!
Thank you! ❤️
Wow they are gorgeous 🤩
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like them!😊♥️🌈
Looks so much better than the ones I saw on another site
Wow thank you! ☺️❤️
I liked the sinew design best. I love that you could see the yellow much more!
Thank you and me too! I love number one too but I like how the sinew breaks up the design😊💜
WOW! Gorgeous. You are so talented. One day I am going to try this.
Thank you so much! You should! ❤️🌈
Absolutely love this pattern which I first saw done by Sonia E. I did a tapestry, 2 shower curtains and a bunch of tees with it. I luv the colors you used!!
That’s awesome! I’ve done a few shirts like this but nothing else. I bet the shower curtain was sweet looking!😊💜
Yeah… the sinew one looks more detailed. They both are nice. And you have a very good technique going on there.
👍🏻🌈
Thank you so much! ☺️❤️
WOW! Different, but I can't decide which one I prefer.
Thank you! They both are pretty unique!😊🌈
both are gorgeous ❤
Thank you! I’m glad you like them!😊🌈
That was quick!? Thanks for all you do Riah! Much ❤️!😎💨🤙
Haha these were in progress when you commented on the post! Thank you! ☺️❤️
Thanks for sharing this amazing comparison.
You’re very welcome! Thank you so much for watching! ☺️❤️
Love seeing a new fold..didnot come out how i thought it would..for me it was #2..thanks for sharing n i will too
Thanks so much Zalia! I like number 2 also if I had to pick😊🌈
You always do an amazing job 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Cookie! ☺️❤️
Tysm for sharing this! They are so cool! ❤
Absolutely! Thank you so much! ❤️🌈
These turned out so cool. Try it on the diagonal & monochromatic colors. Keep up the fantastic creativity!!
Thank you so much and I’ll definitely have to give that a try! That would look so cool!🤍🖤
Those are so pretty❤
Thank you so much! ☺️❤️🌈
So cool really love it
Thanks!
Haha, wow. No sinu iz my fave. Looks more glitchy😂. Awsm work. 💞🤗
Thanks so much Nina! I like the sinew one more but I like the no sinew a lot too!😊🌈
Great tutorial!
Which way did you orient the glitch bundle for icing? With the accordion folds pointing up, or to the side? Thanks
Yes pointing up and thank you! ❤️
Gorgeous! ✌️❤️
Thank you! ❤️
Great tutorial!!
Thank you Annie!
Pretty dramatic difference. Thanks for sharing.
You’re very welcome and thank you my friend!😊🌈

These are so rad!!!!
Thank you!😊🌈
Neat pattern. How do you decide when to put ice under the dye, over it or both? How does that affect the outcome?
It depends on what your going for…you can control it a tad more under ice. Over ice it kind of goes where it wants ☺️❤️
Holy guacamole this is rad
Thank you so much!😊🌈
Thank you! I like with sinew better. Which one do you prefer?
I really like both but the sinew really separates the design some. ☺️❤️
Interesting results! Makes me wonder what an inclined glitch would look like.
That would be awesome! I’ll definitely try it! Thank you! ☺️❤️
Wow they both look fantastic! I think I prefer the one sinew tied only because I feel like it gives the shirt more detail. It should go pretty smoothly…just gotta make sure you put plenty of dye and ice on it ☺️❤️
@@RiahsTieDye thank you, I appreciate the tip 😊
Wow so cool ❤
Thanks so much Tilly! I’m glad you like it!😊💜
Totally cool!
Thank you!
Very nice 👍👍👍
Thank you so much!😊💜
Excellent 🤘🏼
Thank you so much!😊🌈
Thank you!
Cool video. 🤙
Thank you! ❤️
Will the results be different if you waited until the shirt was dry after tying?
I believe so. From my experience if you ice dye it’s better to put dye on it while it’s still damp for better saturation but liquid dyeing is better if it’s dry 😊
❤💛💚💙💜 Love it!!!
Thank you! ☺️❤️
What does the ice do
Can you wash the shirt immediately after dying it?
Not for ice dye. It should sit for at least 24hours.
Thank you
Do you know if it makes a difference to soak in soda ash before folding/spiraling/scrunching vs. after? Would you get the same result if the shirts are already bound when they go into the soda ash?
I soak before just because if you do it after…the sinew could block a large area off from the soda ash soak and you likely wouldn’t get the saturation you are looking for.
@@RiahsTieDye Makes sense, thank you!
Do the folds overlap or just bump up against each other? How tight do you tie the sinew?
I’m not sure what you mean about the folds…there are times they overlap some and other times they are just next to each other. I tie the sinew as tight as I can ☺️❤️
Awesome!
Thank you so much Anne! ☺️❤️
Super awesome folding! I actually kind of like the kite string one better, but can see why sinew needs to be used for dying.
Thank you so much! I really like the no sinew one as well but the sinew is my favorite😊🌈
oooo this is badasss 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!😊🌈
What die do you use to keep the colors like this
I use fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading Company ☺️❤️
Fantastic design! how much would you charge for an xxl?
Thank you!!!! If you go to my website www.riahstiedye.com and use the contact page to email me we can chat about it. You can pick your colors and I can get the info I need from you privately ☺️💙
Wowza
Thank you so much!😊🌈
This is going to go down as the definitive method of folding the Glitch. The two ruler tip on the second set of pleats 👍🔥👍
Also, sinew FTW
That would be awesome! Thank you and I agree!😊💜
Thank you.
You’re very welcome my friend!😊🌈
How do you make flames on a scrunched tshirt?...
I just did this one a few days ago. Maybe it can give you some ideas😊🔥
Creative
What is the name of the wooden piece that your string is wrapped around? It looks very functional and comfortable. Much more than a standard spool.
That is a sinew puller and it’s awesome!
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! ❤️
With sinew it looks like water woooow
I use kite string but it's waxed and gives the same effect as the sinew
That’s awesome! I use kite string too but mines not waxed. I’ll have to try it😊💜
hi who you are is😂awesome. thank you
Thank you! ❤️🌈
WHat is sinew? what does it do or difference it makes in tie dye
Sinew is a waxed string and it helps really tie tight and create white lines in your tie dye…it’s pretty important for any of the intricate designs as well.
I saved the video…. Maybe I’ll try to make one!
Awesome! Thank you!
Cool music, keeps me motivated
🤘🤪🤘
I’m gonna try something I’m going to dip the kite string in wax and make my own sinew.
There you go! I’ve never tried that 😊
🤩
Thanks! ❤️
I just figured out what RUclips is really for-extreme versions of everything!
We try lol.
