    With Canada in the 3rd place game this makes me wonder if the NHL had a 3rd place series then the Dallas Stars would've played the NY Rangers in the NHL 3rd place series. NHL needs a 3rd place series because it's more revenue for the teams and the league.

      They mostly do it in the copa cause there’s not many games in the copa. Creates talk about the tournament and a little revenue.
      The euro has so many games they don’t bother with 3rd place games.

    A soccer player runs about 10km per game. There are no commercial breaks, no coaching breaks. At this professional level it is physically challenging, so every time you can buy some time to let the clock run, you do it (when you are winning of course)

    Time forCanadian fans to impose our culture in the stands for home games. when players flip and flop like landed fish we chant “suck it up buttercup” this signals to our players to play on and ignore the flopping fish. Force the ref to stop the play or if the opponents kick it out to stop the game, immediately take the throw in and retain the possession. If the ref restarts with a drop ball, we contest it and don’t give it back to floppers.Visitors will soon realize Canadians and our players don’t buy flopping fish. When in Rome, do as Romans. Let them suck it up.

    Oh, ok, I see what's happening here. The male host doesn't know international football too well. The "theatrics" are meant to put pressure on the referee. You are clearly pointing to not that "it hurts you", but that what the opposition player did is illegal (which it was) and that he deserves an immediate yellow card. Had Rodrigo De Paul not resorted to "theatrics", there would have been no yellow card. Yellow cards are important because it limits the intensity a player can display on the pitch. The theatrics are not for joke. They are for winning over the psychology of the referee. These Argentinian guys have won 3 major international tournaments in 3 years. They know exactly when to turn on "theatrics" as a part of the psychological battle.

  • @djknox2

    We were in Buenos Aires with my friends watching the 'tremendous' hit in DePaul's back... and we all celebrated the yellow card :) In soccer, as in life, there is also double morality. Some have assumed it, others hide it and criticize other people's opinions.

    This also makes me wonder why in most international tournaments there is a 3rd place or bronze medal game but no such series exists in the NHL, NBA, NFL/CFL and MLB? Why not award the conference losers in the NHL, NBA, NFL/CFL and league losers in MLB with a bronze or 3rd place series as well?

    • @enriquemoran9094
      @enriquemoran9094 2 месяца назад

      Because in America they believe winning equals lifting a trophy. In South America, we believe in competing at your best level and that not all the winners are the ones in first place. Getting to 3rd place is hard and it deserves recognition. Americans only believe in first places. The rest are loosers who deserve it and must go home and cry. That winning all culture is part of why today they are a complete mess.

    • @enriquemoran9094
      @enriquemoran9094 2 месяца назад +1

      Copa America has been around for over a century. Europeans wanted to have something similar after they stop killing each other as dogs and cats after WW2. So no, why we need to copycat the copycats? Its our tradition and you should respect that. By the way, maybe it would be good for the Euro to copy us once again and have a 3rd place match. Being the third in something isn't bad, it is damm hard to get there, specially in the CONMEBOL. Not everybody can win and lifting a trophy isn't all what this sport is all about.

    • @jhamdan2012

    • @KenY-ej7uo
      @KenY-ej7uo 2 месяца назад

      Because Copa is not a copy of the Euros. Its actually the Euros that copied Copa America. Copa existed long before the Euros. So if anything the Euros should add a 3rd place match. Heck, Olympic Hockey and Olympic Basketball has a third place match. Heck, Canada won the Basketball Bronze model against the United States in a third place game. This is an International Sports thing. Euros are the exception, so its them that should change to align with the rest of the world.
