How can I get better, less shaky footage from my GoPro? (Hero8 Black), what are the good settings?
Also why does RUclips turn my crisp footage into this blurry, pixelated, low-bitrate mess?
Also I think I need to find some wind muffs for the GoPro if I do this again, I liked the ambient noise of the city and the bike (and less so my breathing), but the wind noise on the mic borderline ruined it.
Let me know what you think, and if I should have added music/soundtrack/commentary, etc.
Also watching this footage makes me think I have some strange neck issue where my head is always tilted a little to the right. Either that or the camera was on crooked.
Did you have the built in stabilization turned off? Glad you addressed this cause the shakiness was making me motion sick after the first few minutes.
@@dairsensi Ohh yeah I think I might have had it off accidentally. There's one option that when you hit it, it says "Boost on" which is kind of vague, but then you turn it off and it says "HyperSmooth Off" and I think I had it off. I'll do a lil test ride with the boost or Hypersmooth or whatever it is on.
I liked it. It sort of reminded of a slow cinema film, (like a Lav Diaz film, or a film like Two Years at Sea by Ben Rivers). The only thing that would've made it better would be if you'd shot it on 16mm, lol (it would've cost a lot more and put a lot of strain on your kneck).
I liked this format! Loved the sounds of the city, and the breathing wasn’t too bad 😂 10/10 would watch more of this content. No back ground music needed.
No complaints here. I love how simple, slow, and plain it is, in the very best way. Looking at it from the east side of the big pond, it's interesting enough to just observe US cities without the hollywood lens.
And gopro can definitively save stabilized footage, which will also help with youtube compression.
I enjoy the sounds of your trip, the gritty earth beneath your tires, your breath as you traverse the construction zone the Whitney, the sound of the children playing and shouting in excitement, the birds, The Turtles. Thank you for this fun ride, this town is alive. It feels good. It doesn't need music. That would ruin it.
Strong supporter of this
Awesome video, and for those who think Peter will get arrested, think again. Peter is truely on another dimension his powers extend far beyond your comprehension. Peter is a traveler who explores universes. He has truely unimaginable skills and feats. You truely underestimate Peter's art skills, and power scale.
I loved this so much! And the casual manor in which you checked out the heavy equipment as if you and anyone has a right to be there. And the tacos at the end. So much fun.
Know this isn't the standard Peter fare but I really enjoyed it!
all this because of a fortune cookie, my man nows how to live in the moment. A true inspiration
Best tip to not have people bother you when you're somewhere you shouldnt be is to just act like you belong (confidence ftw). Great stuff as always!
That was a pretty relaxing, intimate look at the neighborhood. Honestly, you could do this more often and it would be enjoyable.
These outdoor type videos are some of my favorite!!
Perfect shades for the job. I rock the same ones when operating the rig 😎
Hey Peter, I really enjoyed your video. I loved seeing the construction equipment up close. It was quite a thrill. Thanks to the fortune cookie for giving you the courage to ride up to the construction site. And thanks to the construction worker for leaving the excavator unlocked!
"You want salsa? I have medium....!" She got you pegged! Lolz
Another peter draws vlog beautifully capturing the human experience. I loved the part when you courageously rescued all of the children from that burning orphanage!
I embrace and encourage Peter's ne'er-do-well arc.
good vibes peter the man
Thank you for the video have a wonderful day
was just thinking about how I really liked your vlog-style videos, the horn press and subsequent "whooo" was great, stay cool out there!
Yesss! Another Peter vid. I love this relaxed vibe
Keep doing stuff like this
the last 18 seconds where awesome !!
lol thank you, I knew someone would appreciate that
This was so delightful! Makes me want to move to a city that isn’t so hilly so I can get about on a bike again. I loved all the sounds and your close up inspections of the machinery. Very authentic and chilled vid 😎
Hey you can do it!! The beauty of hills is that you can go fast on the way down. It’s hard but you’ll get better the more you do it!
As a bike adventurer myself, I loved this video. bike riding is great for inspiration and health. Keep it up pete :)
I forgot how cheap fast food is in the US. In the UK that meal would've cost twice that amount! Nice to see your hometown Peter and a little slice of American life.
Yeah $3 dollar tacos are rare in parts of the US too.
this was so fun ^_^ go peter!! 🚜
Omg Peter's gonna get arrested
Nah, construction guys are cool. We'd probably ask Peter if he wants a job.
Peterrrr is biking!!! This is so nice 👍🏻😊
Hullo Peter, thanks for sharing your bike Vlog with us! I hope your doing well and having fun too! I hope you are continuing to create the drawings with added colors. I am especially fond of when you add watercolor paint to your drawings! See ya next video!
This was a great video. I feel like I can relate to the way you experience life if that at all makes sense, and this video encapsulates that perfectly, but not like in a direct way. In a very comforting roundabout way it's always good to see another like minded individual experiencing life in whatever way that might be. However I am also aware that saying that is pretty para social but, that's not really my intent. I hope my point comes across. Even heard two songs in the background that got my creative wheels spinning. Videos like these are important and I'm sure I won't realize why for a long time if ever. Thanks for posting!
P.S. Before I catch my flight and forget, I have to mention that I saw at least one other person mention chewing and looking at the camera as being odd. I think this is more an indictment on themselves no? When you eat dinner with a SO or anyone really, isn't like 50% of the time spent looking at the other person chew while you talk?
Anyhoo, best wishes my dude
Can't say I've seen that much cilantro on one taco before.
Looks like a lovely time was had by all.
I loved this! I live in crazy, congested, L.A. - and I looove how peaceful and quiet your area is - especially downtown - during what I have to assume is a weekend. I've watched a ton of walking tour videos of different cities (Tokyo is my fav); and I'll watch every one of yours if you keep em comin! Be safe out there!
yeah some of those walking tour videos in Japan are really nice
NC is a beauty this time of year-cheers from SW VA
I used to love doing things like this
enjoyed the video evyerthing about it was lovely just the background noises were peaceful
Nice bike!
I enjoyed this video whole lot more than I thought I would. I would definitely watch more.
I thought for sure you were going to slolem through the road barrels at first!
Only thing I'd suggest is motion stabilizer of some sort? I got a bit motion sick, but I also admit I'm very sensitive to that sort of thing.
I find other cities around the world fascinating in the every day differences - what roads, signs, shops etc are like.
(There is much more music publically than where I live, that busker at 8.23 has a really good voice!)
Never realized you lived in NC. I’m from Wilmington and love your vids man!!
The taco massacre part reminded me of Warhol and the hamburger episode.😂
Thanks Peter, I went on a bike ride without breaking a sweat.
Please be cautious. Construction zones can be a lot more dangerous than they look! I did some OSHA30 training last week in Construction. We learned that one cubic yard of soil weighs 2700-3000lbs. That blew my mind. Be safe.
Oh you *cannot* *possibly* be serious with your comment?!
I would have to acknowledge that there are increasingly more people without the kind of common sense that is required to navigate the physical world, and yes: specialisation is a thing. So be all means: get a digger ticket before you operate a digger and *actually move* some serious soil, and do not just stick your hand in a blender/smelter/turtle beak - but go where you want to go, especially if you're not even impacting another person by being seen by them (=no.one.there).
I do want to encourage everyone to take responsibility for their lives, though, and practice and train their sensory equipment, honed by gazillions of years of Evolution.
Be courageous, be adventurous!

The tone in your response is childish and unnecessary. Chill buddy
The tone in my response was triggered/annoyed and exasperated by a 'safety' thinking that seems more and more prevalent, and is a kill joy for fun in life, and I had a knee jerk reaction.
The tone in yours is just smug and superior.
Don't buddy me, mate, express your true opinion
if you told me Peter Draws would upload a cycling vlog in 2024 I would have stared you right in the face and said, "yeah i can see that actually."
A bike ride and tacos is the perfect date. ☺Be careful trying out construction equipment though, the way things are these days people will probably think you're up to no good/trying to do something dangerous.
Greensboro is nice, it reminds me of a mix between Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan, where I'm from. It's so flat! Perfect for riding.
Peter, you're going to get yourself arrested doing this!
Or worse: EXPELLED!
@@sadmimikyu8807 sort out your priorities!
@COTTFLIXGenerally, entering a construction site is illegal and is considered trespassing. Repercussions largely depend on the circumstances and state law, but often times typically results in a misdemeanor. It’s a low level offense and honestly probably isn’t really enforced all that much, considering it’s so common. Just feels like “why bother?” Kinda like jaywalking or something.
@COTTFLIX (I would like to preface this by saying I don’t really care if people walk around construction sites, I don’t make the laws, I just read them.) Trespassing is usually defined as knowingly entering another owners’ property or land without permission. Yes, a lot of states require that a warning or notice be posted/delivered before a person can be guilty of trespassing, but not all of them. It’s not required that a property owner directly tell someone to not be on the premises for it to be considered trespassing. A sign saying "No Trespassing," a fence around the property, etc. are all sufficient by law. And there was, in fact, a sign right at the entrance of the construction site in the beginning that said “no trespassing, construction only” lol. And just because there is no victim(s) doesn’t make something not a crime. There are thousands of victim-less crimes.
Edit: spelling
@COTTFLIX Sherar v. Cullen, (1973) was a case decided by the ninth circuit court of appeals and was a case pertaining to an IRS agent who was fired for refusing to furnish his own tax returns. (He sued for restoration of his employment, the initial district court granted summary judgment to his employer i.e. the government, and the Ninth Circuit reversed and remanded.)
Your argument is a false premise. The case was about employment and had nothing to do with criminal charges. And the quote you cited had nothing to do with the case and is simply not true under our legal system.
The legal definition of a crime does not require an “injured party.” The legal definition of a crime in the US is a violation of a criminal statute, which may or may not require an “injured party,” depending on the elements defined by that statute. (If you’re really want to get down to the philosophy, generally in “victimless” crimes, the “injured party” is society at large.)
Corpus Delicti doesn't just mean that someone has to be hurt for a crime to occur. It means that the state must prove that a crime actually occurred before they can charge someone with committing that crime.
And no, I was not talking about the road closed sign. There is clearly an orange sign to the right of the construction entrance that says “No Trespassing, Construction Only.”
You are attempting to be right about something that you do not have an adequate understanding of. I’d advise you to go talk to a paralegal or an attorney, but you won’t take my word, so what good would that be? I’m removing myself from this conversation.
Lady it's been a hard day out on the construction site, the boss is breaking my balls on all this pavement that just needs to go and he needs it by yesterday!
Anyway, gimmie 2 tacos and make 'em mild 😎
10:15 the singing in the background in this segment really reminds me of the witch from left 4 dead
great vid

- More narration during the next adventure. Your thoughts are missed.
I don't know about climbing all over someone's heavy equipment like that but to each his own.
So no helmet? 👮♀️😂 kidding.
Yeah I was wearing it the whole time

Very enjoyable 😍❤💃
Hey Peter. Looks like a pretty area you live in. Is it legal there to ride bikes, on footpaths and in public walking spaces? I'm in Aus and wondering if your laws are that different? x Nell
I think on the greenway it’s ok, you’re maybe not supposed to ride bikes on sidewalks, but I don’t know how much that’s enforced.
@@peter_draws thanks for your reply! Have a great day.
Interesting video
🇮🇳india you very curious like a polymath Artist Leonardo da Vinci ❤❤

where'd you get that t shirt Peter
What city is this? I remember you living in NC haven’t visited a city that looks similar to this (granted I stay in my little nc town mostly and haven’t really visited the major cities)
Greensboro
@@peter_draws I think I competed for skills usa at the Greensboro coliseum?
I’m from an extremely rural area that doesn’t get many food trucks, so please ignore my ignorance - is asking for tips at one the norm? I thought perhaps a server would bring your food to you, or maybe ask if you wanted a refresher on sauce/drink. Perhaps include some napkins with the meal? No hate at all I’m all for tipping servers and anyone who provides complimentary service - I just never expected the iPad to come out in such a casual/easy scenario like a taco truck!
seems like the norm now
Lmao I had to do a double take with the thumbnail. Idk why but I didn’t recognize you with those shades XD You looked like a totally different person
Peter the Construction worker..i was waiting for you to start the big jack hammer up and do a shift. how disappointing i never got to see this.
How were the tacos????? 🤤
A little bland but after I ate them i gotta admit I found myself very satisfied
Nice bike man! :D 8O
What happened to the ladybird?
Hi Peter.
Those tacos 🌮 sounded great - but you lost me with all that cilantro 🤢🤮
Where is your helmet? Your head is important.
The GoPro is attached to the helmet
@@peter_drawsoh nice
Oh no you didn’t make a drawing!

Oh Peter, Why???
Why only 2 tacos?
You ahould not enter random vehicles
They were not random

Staring at the camera and chewing is a bit weird!
Yeah I was gonna cut that part out but then I was watching it and just started laughing at it the I just stared and chewed, so I kept it in.

I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress.
