🙏 This leaves me speechless. When my Dad passed he left me some money which I spent on the snowboard equipment delivered to Gulmarg. I could not think of a better way to honor the man who had been a 🏀coach to many young men. RIP, PDN ♥EDIT: I must recognize those who preceded me and those who created the budding snowboard culture at Gulmarg: Peter Robinson, Bashir, Manzoor, and Yusef of Ski Himalaya, and Kiwi Tim, who regularly hiked Affarwat before Phase 2 of the gondola was complete.
I hope the video captured it, but the riders here are truly great ambassadors of snowboarding! The foundation you and others have created is vers strong!
Being brown growing up in Europe, I don't think I've ever seen another brown snowboarder.... To see that there is such a beautiful snowboarding culture in Kashmir is so heartwarming and am definitely looking forward to riding these lines!
Mike Nixon is an old great friend and its so amazing to hear these guys give thanks to Mike for the help he gave them to start snowboarding. I heard many stories from Mike about snowboarding in Kashmir and its so nice to see these guys are so grateful to Mike!
Indian states that have snowfall are Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Arunachal pradesh which makes the area of combined Switzerland, french, Germany, UK, Belgium, Netherlands....so there are lots of mountain ranges untouched with pristine beauty. One should visit flower valley during summer...you will feel its more then heaven
I always believe the Kashmir has extraordinary potential of tourism, Now I am happy to see that People all around the world are exploring it. North east India is also one of hidden gems of INDIA in terms of tourism. That needs to be explored too. INDIA has potential to attract every single type of tourist, traveler, explorer if we uses even 80 percent of our total tourism potential. There is a lot of work that need to be done and I am happy to see that we are going in the right direction.
Those untouched Himalayan lines just hit different 😍 so Cool to hear their stories. I definitely think it will be huge for this area what you’ve done by showcasing just how good the riding is there! In a place nobody would’ve thought there was even snow! I see a huge spike in riders making the leap to come out there in the coming seasons for sure!😁
lot has changed in kashmir and thanks to @michaelpeternixon for starting a revolution in kashmir Now locals can live a life away from instability and spread love and thank you kevin @SnowboardProCamp for showing the world about India and Srinagar
Absolute legend I don’t know how to describe my feelings after watching my mates but thankyou so much sir. Literally means a lot for us❤ Again thankyou so much
I belive we Indians are one of the luckiest people in the world, we can do almost any sport at a fraction of the cost outside and that also in our country because of the diverse landscapes it has to offer. We have Mountains ,Valleys ,long rivers, Massive coastline ,Dessert ,Snow ,Rain and everything else. Many a times we Indian's ourselves haven't seen our own country fully My northeast trip is still pending hopefully I get to do it this year end or next year. Btw how much time does it take to learn snowboarding and are there places to learn in Gulmarg??
They are ancient himalayan birch tress ( white ones). There outer bracks were used for writing in ancient times. We have a lot of Untocued mountains which have never been skiied. Basically Our mountain ranges have a length of 700 km and only 10 km is used for skiing.
wow beautiful guys kashmir is heaven on earth and indian hospitality is on next level @snowboardprocamp pls put #india in ua description i want this culture to spread in india
@snowboardprocamp Hey Kevin, when are you coming back man? I definitely wanna catch up with you. I have learnt snowboarding by watching your videos and I can do off roading and black slopes as well. I never got to catch up with you when i was in Europe for 7 years. Please let us know before you come to India again, this time I am gonna catch up with you. Your fan here!
This is so cool. I am born in canada but i have nepali roots. I snowboard in whistler every season and now i have a destination that truly calls to me. I am interested in hearing your thoughts about the snow/terrain vs something like whistler BC I did not even know the Himalayas had ski hills
Unless you're American or European you won't be allowed. It is what it is. Especially in Kashmir, there is a special screening for people who come from Pakistan. Maybe they allow you, slim chances though.
@@cloudgaming4905 wrong.no chance. If his roots from Pakistan even he get amarican passport. But govt will never give visa for going to Kashmir.. but they can give visa other state but never give to for Kashmir .
the skiing infrastructure and culture could have been developed earlier if it was not for insurgency by Pakistan and making that region unstable fuiling internal problems in the name of religion. just see how happy are people how good snowboarding tourism culture can develop without indulging into politics. i hope those who have seperatism mindset learn from this video and understand india is your homeland and please concentrate on making kashmir world's best tourist place instead of causing any trouble in the region
That religion thing and it's exploitation applies to India too. Indian central governments see and treat Kashmir as a trophy rather than a part of it. It sees Kashmir being with it as a representation of Hindu domination over a Muslim region. Things were quite good in Kashmir till 1990s and Pakistan existed even before that. So if you call yourself an atheist then look beyond Pakistan blaming stuff. There are other far bigger reasons.

I don’t know how to describe my feelings after watching my mates but thankyou so much sir.

That's amazing. I'm in Austria next week and the snow is going to be nothing like this.
Hot ramen noodles on the side of the mountain, - talk about getting back to snowboarding’s roots!
That's Maggie noodles. Favourite of Indians😊
Wow !!
Heaven on earth 🏂
If things go back to normal soon, you should check out the local snowboarders of Lebanon!

Btw how much time does it take to learn snowboarding and are there places to learn in Gulmarg??
Everyone learns at their own pace. You can learn in Gulmarg from Phase 1 and down to the Gondola. There's also a chairlift accessible from Phase 1.
And imagine, all that snow would not have happened if our sub-continent didn't swim across the Indian Ocean and collide with the Eurasian plate👍🏻
it has the california and japan trees

Kevin should start a non profit and get gear donations going. You could ship a container full of gear for the locals.
I’m on my way brothers. I’ve never had a place calling my name. Watching this video made me feel like at home.
you have to wait for next winter season.😀😀
Looks like happyness and friendship😊😊😊😊🏂🏂🏂🏂

Hope you enjoy it!
I’m Pakistani and am putting this one my list of places to ride outside North America. How can I get in touch with these guys if I make it out there
he left the IG handle on the video
