I'm Brazilian, I'm a purple belt of Shotokan Karate, I really admire Naka Tatsuya's way of taking Martial Art seriously. I ask that if possible, put a subtitle in Portuguese, it will help a lot the other purple, brown and black bands here in Brazil that train this way and are based a lot on this way of training and application of karate for life according to the videos of Naka Tatsuya.

The movements are good - but they don't match the kata. Therefore, they can not be considered a decoding of this kata.

But why are all those fighting technics not found in Kumite Tournament? Do you think the Karateka who participate in Kumite Tournament never get that training but punch and kick in high speed only? No defend, no blocking, no dodging?
Karate was devised for self defence against thugs and criminals, it was never meant for consensual fights against other martial artists. Tournament karate has little to do with karatedo.
Kumite has a lot of restrictions. You can't apply all the techniques, specially more lethal techniques.. Kata, on the other hand, teaches how to fight in the street - where there is no rules to protect your life. That' why the difference...
Because none of it works against a resisting opponent. They practice non-competitive kumite in the dojo, and yet none of the things shown in the video appears.
Because katas are not made for consensual fighting, like Mahatma Levolence said, they are made for self defense. Kumite is totally different.

Что же вы каратисты такие сильные в зале среди своих, проигрываете представителям других боевых систем?
Бой по правилам в клетке и самооборона на улице/в подъезде где зачастую решает один два удара, это совсем разные вещи. Поэтому такие виды как каратэ или джиткундо обладают преимуществом перед теми же смешанными единоборствами, элементарно потому что там тренируют пальцы рук и ног чтобы поражать суставы , глаза, сухожилия и тд. А про "проигрываете" ты поторопился ибо Мачида, Сент Пьер, Энди Хуг смотрят на тебя с осуждением друг мой)) Так то проиграть могут все, все зависит конкретно от бойца
