You've always taught good basics. Soooooo important. Little things like lower yourself,... then move. Not just fall forward (off balance is another, well,... thing). Oh, and a few of the basic Japanese words (rei etc.). Love it.
this might sound basic but I've never heard of the lower your level before you step and doing that really helped my legs not get tired. I've always felt my legs getting tired in stances so I was definitely missing this important step. thank you for the video!
I found that doing a high count of squats with a weighted vest made my legs very strong and my stances more stable. It seems like the vest needs to be at least 20% of your bodyweight to make a real difference. So at least 14kg for a 70kg guy. I do about 150 reps per training session. Once or twice a week. For people that don't want to do extra training outside of karate, it may make sense to at least buy a lightweight vest, of 5 or 8kg, and wear it under the kimono during the karate training.
I had a hip replacement on left hip and knee replacement on right knee in 1 year, 2020. I have trained for 45 years in TKD. My left knee has also been replaced. I have losses all balance. I believe it is strength in my hip and knee. Started doing simple balance drills, trying to stand on one leg. Not much improvement. Started doing squats and 1-leg squats and other strengthening drills 2-3 times a week and am starting to see balance improvement. I’m going to continue strengthening exercises. I do your exercises with basics technique in place and see improvement too. Strength is important for balance! Thank you for your videos.
I remember hearing an old saying Does a person spend most of their life on one leg, two legs, three legs(using a cane)or four legs(crawling). Supposedly, for a fighter, the correct answer is supposed to be one leg. Because you are always walking and shifting your weight, one leg is always the one taking all the weight. I believe this saying came from Indian swordsmanship. So that's why you often see a number of yoga poses where the yogi poses on one leg.
Kihon and low stances are great tools. But modern science gave us separate strength training as well, which will greatly complement the high volume training from karate
In the steven seagal video you said you were gonna practice true kobudo, When are you going to do that? And when are you gonna do enter the dragon part 2?
You are supposed to go from 0 to 100% to 0 again once the technique is complete. The default state is the relaxed state. The 100% state is only for 0,1s when finishing the technique to protect the joints.
@@KarateDojowaKu I don't know if we are even allowed to do that in Europe. I can discuss it with some local teachers. Do you do it all the time and every training?

I feel precisely that for months. Can´t even do a proper mawashi geri or Yoko Geri anymore (because of the missing flexibility). Thanks.
Gotta love kihon(basics) 😊

In our dojo we use this method to release the kime after every technique.
You are supposed to go from 0 to 100% to 0 again once the technique is complete.
The default state is the relaxed state.
The 100% state is only for 0,1s when finishing the technique to protect the joints.
I'm practicing my relaxation, so I'm doing that on purpose to reach that goal!
