Excellent post. You gotta love the comment I work downstairs and wanted the Beatles with me. Hence the sleeves on the wall I love that. Brilliant. The picture sleeves most likely remind you of simpler times and both your parents who took you to the store to buy your 45s. Even old Bernie the store guy at Times Square brings back memories. Bernie would appreciate the shout out. Your grandmother would have loved revolution 9 and hated on oblidi oblida The revolution 9 and piggies It would remind her of the old country and to appreciate what we have.
LOL. But you are absolutely right. I didn't say it in the video but I remember buying the Ticket to Ride sleeve in a record store on Jamaica Avenue in Queens right next to Woolworth's. I only knew they had it because he had a TTR sleeve TAPED on the front of his counter. Blasphemous!!! LOL. But they DO take me right back to much simpler times. Thanks for reminding me of that!
Great video, Mitch!!! You inspired me with your Fantasy Picture Sleeves months ago and it was great to see and hear your reasoning for making the choices that you did!!
25:11 - I much prefer this one, the fantasy one. I know the other one was a parody of Please Please Me publicity photos, but this one, the fantasy cover, is so cool, it represents 1968 much better. Right after John was killed, I saw a poster of a sketch of them from a photo taken during the same session - John and George were facing profile, same positions, but Ringo cheated out a little and Paul was NOT having any side picture taken of him - he faced the camera full on. Of courswe the poster I had was 40 years ago, which I find impossible to believe. I hope I can find an image somewhere on Google of the real photo. It's a very nice one.
Ah, excellent post. You're maybe a little too young to remember, but in the late 70s, Lord Sitar Records, on Long Island, sold this type of sleeve (group and solo), no record, just sleeve, $3.50 per.
I made my own fantasy Butcher Cover, and it's framed on the wall in my dining room. I bought an "INCREDIBLE" poster (fake, of course) at Beatlefest, cut out the cover, trimmed and glued it to this trunk cover I had (the record's beat to shit, but who cares 😂)...and VOILA! I did get another one later one, a fake Incredible poster, that is, and it's hanging in my bedroom (I ran out of space in the living and dining rooms).
LOL. Now THAT'S funny! In all seriousness, I think if George would have put a picture of Ringo, Paul and him working together on the All Those Years Ago sleeve, instead of the boring Somewhere in England LP cover, it would have sold even better.
@@mitchellaxelrod5286 great point. I don’t think in April 81 we had pics of them working in studio. We had the ringo wedding shots from April 27 81 but after the single came out. All those years went to number 2 without a video. I think Bette Davis eyes kept it from number one. Bette Davis was very happy
@@mitchellaxelrod5286I don’t think ringo was at session. Right ? It was Denny Paul Linda and George Martin. We never got the guitar solo from wanderlust
@@MalEvansUSA correct. Ringo was having all sorts of "health" issues (drinking was killing him. Watching interviews from that time is painful). I would have loved the George solo for Wanderlust.
@@MalEvansUSA You are right. Pictures of Paul and George (and George Martin and Denny) just started surfacing a few years ago. And I don't think wanted that "reunion" talk smacking him in the face again. And he HATED the video that the record company put together using the crappy Beatles memorabilia. But that is his own fault because he never wanted to "play the game" and do any publicity.
Excellent post. A you tube equivalent of all things must pass via solo Mitch Best solo post of Fab Four free for all. No disrespect but rob Leonard solo posts are the equivalent of beaucoups of blues or sentimental journey. And Tony t best outing is equivalent of life with lions and sometime in nyc. Mitch is the Fab Four free for all. He is like McCartney post pepper Tony and rob are glorified sidemen albeit talented
I appreciate the kind words, but no ATMP for me. Fab 4 Free 4 All are the 3 of us. I just happened to have some extra time to put on video, an obsession of mine. F4F4A is the sum of the individual parts, all of which are good. But thank you very much.
If Kennedy wasn’t shot I don’t think the Beatles make it as big in states. I think Bobby Vinton and Neil Sedaka have more number ones. 1964 was a messed up year. Beatles popularity drops 60 pct if jfk lives. Neil Sedaka covers ‘and I love her’ and it goes number one for summer 1964. Jfk wins election and I feel fine barely makes top ten. Andy Williams covers ‘8 days a week’ backed with ‘I’m down’ in spring of 1965
I have the Yesterday Pic Sleeve by this same gentleman, and we worked together on his Fantasy Butcher Covers too. Bobisocks01 I think he does a great job. the Nothing is Real guy not a big fan of ..he always does auctions and the bids get too high for what the product is worth. Great frames you've made.
Nicely done Mitch! A true “labor of love!”

GREAT VIDEO MITCH. NICE TOPIC . I KNOW IT'S ONLY PICTURE SLEEVE BUT I LIKE IT !.
Great job Mitch!

I love the idea of fantasy sleeves. I've been tempted to get the fake LP sleeves, but they're really "up there".
I have the Beatles ‘68 album which uses the white album songs. I also love the Hollywood Bowl fantasy album.

Save space for now and then. The infamous last single 53 years later unreal. Not sure what the pic sleeve will look like.
