It's interesting as well to think that the meaning of the name Anastasia (or Anastacia) is rebirth, and we get to see this in both versions of the timeline where she has a redemption arc
I think They planned on one of the stepsister's Redemption so They named One Anastasia and her name is true she redeems herself and becomes a better person.

And I think she also looks back at Anastasia and the baker when she is leaving with her mother. Maybe all she needed was more time and the right person just like her sister.
I heard in the original story back when the writer first write the story, it was supposed to be beautifull red shoes but they changed it to the glass slipper, eventhough it was impractical but glass slipper that very specifically to fit cinderella small feet made it specifically fit to only cinderella's feet and no one could wear it as it was a made of glass.
This makes sense because if any of you watched Descendants, Anastasia’s Daughter/Son wasn’t on the isle. Only Drazilla’s Daughter, Dizzy. Which means Anastasia lived in Auradon. Btw I’m sorry if I didn’t spell some words correctly
Ashley 09 Could be but I mean, who would give Drazilla a daughter? My device literally autocorrected her for Dracula. I’d be so cool if Anastasia had a daughter
I mean same but even in the third one she gave up a life of wealth and riches because she realised it was wrong and not genuine. What she wanted was actual love and she knows the prince didn’t actually love her but Cinderella. Which shows that she’s the same person in both movies but with in alternate timelines. Being influenced by her mom and sister to do bad things and changing once she’s no longer under their influence. I fucking love Anastasha, I’m just ranting so don’t mind me.
I actually like the connection to the two timelines. Seeing Anastasia end up making the same choices in the end despite different circumstances shows a lot about who she is. She isn't necessarily a product of her environment, even if Tremaine had a major influence that buried her true heart for years. It shows to me that despite bad environments we are responsible for our own choices and therefore have the power to change by our own volition. If Tremaine had not influenced her, yes, I think she would have turned out better earlier, but she might have had different challenges instead like being treated too nicely and therefore being taken advantage of more easily. Either way, we can see the trials help carve out and reveal her true heart. In the end, she does want be better and support a meaningful relationship in her life.

I think Anastasia is one of the more realistic disney characters, and yes she would have become a better person without her mother, it's the old nature vs nurture question
I literally felt bad for Anastasia because at least she wanted a happy ending of her own with someone who loved her for just her at the ending of a twist in time I'm glad she found that happily ever after ending with the muffin man. T.T
Then the True evil villains, who are true villains, who became villains for no reason, They’re the true villains at heart, like cruella de vil, And the Just to impress Type, where they’re just acting evil just to impress someone to be proud of them, like Mal (descendants, Maleficent’s daughter)
I always felt bad for Anastasia because both sisters were heavily manipulated by their mother. You can see how Tremaine puts them down, even when she prioritized them. Still, Anastasia saw through and helped Cinderella, finding her own true love in the process. Drizella shows her hesitance to leave her behind with her mother when she saw that Anastasia was able to find love outside of money. They were all abused and manipulated, brought up horribly. It's an explanation, not an excuse but still. Tremaine is truly one of the most mundane but horrible villains; making other victims the villains and accessories to her abuse, her own daughters.
Anastasia's story is the only one I've re-watched in Cinderella 2; I found the others to be pretty forgettable. I'm glad they showed her with the baker at the end of Cinderella 3. She proved herself to be a better person and absolutely deserved her happy ending. I'm also glad her redemption arc didn't turn into the objectively awful "all the bad guys learn their lesson and are good now" kind of story. People can change, but not everyone is willing to.
Why do I feel like these are the only two direct-to-DVD sequels that actually had a story that made sense and was worth being told? Not saying they weren’t flawed, but they seem to be quite a bit better than other sequels Disney put out at that time
I remember seeing one review that said the original Cinderella is such a blank slate of a story, you could almost add whatever and make it a meaningful, transformative piece of work.
Also given the time gap between the original and the sequels, normally the quality of the sequel at the time would look worse, however here it actually looked like the animation quality here improved.
In a sense, Anastasia's plot thread of rising to be a better person is also shown in Everafter, a live action look at what the story of Cinderella would look like if it were more historically authentic and had the magic elements shaved off a bit. I highly recommend the film, especially if you haven't seen it yet.
I agree. Excellent version of the Cinderella story. I liked the creative spin they took making it a historical fairy tale. And I liked that Cinderella had a stronger character and a stronger romance with Prince Henry than just ONE dance and that's it. I feel like they kind of copied Ever After when they did the updated version of Cinderella. Having them meet in the woods, her keeping her identity a secret and so forth. Ever After was DEFINITELY the better of the two movies hands down.
Jacqueline was so adorable. I love Ever After and Cinderella 3 (and the part in Cinderella 2 where Anastasia meets the Baker). It's cute how in Ever After Jacqueline meets a friendly commoner who looks a little like Anastasia's Baker too. I think Ever After inspired the writers of the Cinderella sequels.
@@CeltycSparrow I know about it. Though they made up for the lack of that stepsisters, but making the other stepsister and the stepmother psychotic. Still great movie.

I think the 3rd movie is chronologically the 2nd one in which Lady Tremaine did succeed in having one of her daughters married to the prince. Notice that Anastasia ended up with the Baker, it was foreshadowing her breaking away from her family for good.
It shows that Anastasia might have been nasty to her stepsister Cinderella bt the sequel shows a different side to Anastasia. I think Anastasia was behaving that way to go along with Drizella and Lady Tremaine.

I used to believe (and still believe it a little bit) That cinderella 3 is supposed to be the 2 and Cinderella 2 is supposed to be the 3 movie. Thats why we see the Baker at the end, to saw us that this is what will happen next. But your theory is more right
I can definitely understand how you came to that conclusion! The contradictions with the ending for Tremaine and Drizella don't make that extremely possible, but I get how you got there!
2 is the in between the two movies though, the ending may show more that now that Anastacia is on her own and free to do whatever she wants, she and the Baker can truly formally start something, even with the twist in time, something else can be rebuilt
Nahhh. Cinderella 2 was supposed to be a TV show that failed. Also the stepmother, Drizella and Lucifer are screwed at Cinderella 3 so there's no way for them to go back in Cinderella 2.
When I was little, I first saw the third movie, instead of the second one, so it made sense for me. Even to this day, I like to think that chronologically, the third happend first and then the second happend, but I REALLY liked this idea of pararel timelines.
Oh you are right! That’s why the whole time I was thinking, what happened to the baker?? After I saw what you said it all make sense now. Then I’m glad Anastasia found her true love because she deserves it more than anybody else 😭😭
I can blame it on the mother Lady Tremaine because, she taught her daughters to be like her but Anastasia has good in her and want to have her very own true love and someone that will love her and plus, Anastasia deserves to have her own happy ending.
I actually find Anastasia's story more relatable. Unlike Cinderella, she doesn't have a lot of traits that are seen as attractive normally like Cinderella's voice and beauty. (However, interestingly enough, even though Cinderella was put down almost all her life and is now in such a higher place, she is still kind even to those who treated her wrong, so she really is quite a character.) Anyway, many of us may feel like Anastasia, jealous, not confident in ourselves, and maybe guilty over our own mistakes and past. She shows that not only are there people who do love you genuinely but that she can become her best self as well for that person and herself. It requires faith in other people as well as faith in ourselves, that we can change for the better.
Welcome to my world I have that feeling ever since but there's always one person that can act like Lady Tremaine and showing their true nature and colors but when I backed off I've change and get some people to love me of who I am and stuff.
@@Nova7o9 It was the only good thing in Cinderella 2 😂. Where is my Anastasia Tremaine live action movie? Thats what I deserved, not Maleficent being not the mistress of all evil 😒.
Anastasia has always been one of my favorite reformed villains. Watching her progress and getting that happy ending was done beautifully showing that people can change.
I really appreciate how Cinderella also positively reinforces Anastasia with kindness, encouragement and love at every turn- when she has all the rights in the world to just hate her and have her sent away; but she doesn't. She sees that Anastasia wants to be a good person and to be loves and be herself and she encourages her to do so. So by the end Cinderella and Anastasia still have eachother in their lives with their own happy ever afters.

Lady Tremaine wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Cinderella's success equals her success. So what if her birth daughters aren't eye candy, likable, smart, talented or graceful? She was suddenly granted a new daughter who was all of those things rolled into one without even trying, and if she had any clout or brains, she would have used Cinderella's physical assets and wealth to get herself further up in the high society world. That was what she was always personally after after all, but she kept betting on a couple of crippled gray mules when she had a goddess prime race horse the entire time. Getting daughters married asap was very important to a high standing widow with only daughters in that day in age. Parade Cinderella around first at every high-end party or social you can, get her hitched, get those steady benefits by association, THEN she could work on those two... what's-their-faces. Screw wasting all that time and limited money on two loud, silly, homely, oafish girls who are probably stuck that way for life. I wouldn't care if I did push them out, and when two broken doors close, another perfectly suitable one opens. XD
As a widow, Lady Tremaine inherited her husband's wealth and property - she had no use for Cinderella. And because she doesn't care about Cinderella, why would she invest time to help her in any way?
Nocturne22 I think you missed the point.. if the stepmother used Cinderella, who was gentler, and more graceful than her own daughters, she could have used her to marry her off to a wealthy man, getting all the riches she wanted. Just imagine if the stepmother had been supporting of Cinderella going to the ball, even if she despised her. She would have married the prince and because she’d been kind to Cinderella, the stepmother would’ve been set for life. But no, she wasn’t clever enough to do so.
the stepmother was always jealous of cinderella, and the influence cinderella had on her father, which unallowed her to use his wealth to the full potential. Once the father is out of the picture, why would she spend the fortune on a girl who isnt even her blood daughter, but also is everything she and her daughters fail to be, and who caused her to not be able to use said wealth
@@reenaki_art Well, jealousy is stupid. I'm not a very jealous person, so I guess her actions never made much sense to me. Yes, Cinderella is everything he blood daughters failed to be, yeah, I guess it could be a blow to your pride that you popped out some idiots, but you gotta cut your losses. Cinderella is literally a key to a better life for all of them, and instead of being a petty biatch, stepmother needed to be concerned about the future. She's getting older, there's no other family in the area, and her daughters don't have suitors knocking the door down. Cinderella's father's money is a finite resource, there's no side hustling to be seen, and most of the money was used up by the main events of the first story. Stepmother trying desperately to marry off her two fail daughters ain't cutting the mustard. Two not-too-cute, crass, unemployed, unskilled, un-talented, un-connected old maids with no real dowry or inheritance to speak of in that day in age don't exactly bring in funds if you know what I'm sayin'. Sorry, but it's true. XD Even in Ever After, the stepmother sold her stepdaughter because of depleted funds. Tremaine is just spite incarnate, it doesn't benefit her... if anything, it digs her deeper and deeper into the hole as she ages, and I can't imagine her having many friends, or people who can stand her. Furthermore, did she really think she'd get away with treating someone like that for years and years for no good reason without something happening? I mean, come on.
From cinderella 3 twist in time anastasia learn something from cinderella that make her a better person when anastasia became cinderella she is thinking like cinderella which is listening and following her heart cinderella is a good step sister with better influence
I think Anastasia was never bad it was her simply following how her mother an sister was.I always thought she wasn't that bad and she just simply wants to be happy with someone who loves her for her like every other girl.
Just imagine this, in the time line of Cinderella 3 the king is an old Prince Eric, that is why his treasure is a seashell, and why Anastasia reminded him of his wife, also Prince Charming looks very similar to Prince Eric.
Payton Hoshor that can't be, in the ship where Vanesa and Erick where going to marry there's an scene when you can see prince's charming father, the king, he was a guest there.
Anastasia was most likely just following her mother and sister in their actions as she felt pressured and as she grew older that spoilt, rotten and selfish nature started to thread itself into her personality having moments where she would lash out, like destroying Cinderella's dress, and i felt that at the ball she started to regret doing that but would realise she'd have to do the same thing anyway or she would be punished. I liked that in all timelines she repents and has a redemption arc.
Honestly the weirdest thing about the stepsisters faces is that they have pretty well-defined smile lines, and yet I rarely see them in constant smiles?
It's really impressive; despite being spoiled all her life, she actually had a pretty good heart deep down. So the "ugly" stepsister became a true sister to Cinderally in the end.
@Joe Allen She wasn't ugly! She just needed to find some self esteem and perhaps give herself a little makeover. Which worked as shown in the Cinderella sequel.
I suppose Cinderella was Anastasia's true sister in the sense that she has in actuality a good heart like Cinderella. Also Cinderella was more caring and supportive of her then her actual sister Drusilla and her wretched mother.
i relate to anastasia so much. she knew how much she felt like cinderella's supporting character. my best friend (obviously nothing against her) is gorgeous, has good grades etc. i've always felt like her side character friend. i was never as perfect as her.
Cinderella :*catfiahes prince * Prince :I love you ! Also Prince :what did she looked like? Cinderella: has feet no one has Prince : lets get married one the third day they met
Personally, I believe Cinderella 2: Dreams Cone True is underrated... It's such a good movie and I feel like more people should watch it. Anyone else w/me?
Considering that most of the artifacts created by magic returned to their original state of being besides the shoes, perhaps this was actually planned out by the magic? This is quite far fetched, but maybe the magic knew when to kick in like that, loosen the slipper so that it would fall off her foot so that the prince could later on track her down?
I mean, I have well fitting heels that have definitely still fallen off because I started running in them. Not to mention that it is made of glass. Any little bit of sweat already means it is easier to slide out of.
I also like how Anastasia's character design isn't changed drastically from Cinderella 1, giving a subtle message of "Your personality matters more than your looks," because similarly to Quasimoto, she and her sister are specifically drawn to be not so easy on the eyes. Yes, I'm pretty sure some of her facial proportions were changed slightly, both due to budget and being a more prominent character in 2 & 3, but it's nothing major. I would appreciate seeing more of that from Disney. I actually remember watching both Cinderella sequels back to back because I was too little to remember which one had the horrifying scene with Cinderella trapped inside a rotted pumpkin being driven literally by Lucifer and which one had the one that looked like Ariel meet a baker that reminded me of my huge teddy bear. Edit not one minute later: Welp I still can't remember which sequel was which. Thanks, memory.

If you’re kind and true hearted, there is no reason for you not to fall in love. Even if your start wasn’t the best. ❤️ there is love for everyone.
In the original Story, Cinderella comes to three balls. Upon the third night, the Prince knew she was going to leave him again without finding Out her identity, so He let his servants Cover the castle's steps with Pitch so she would get stuck in them and couldn't leave. But only one shoe got stuck, Disney just didn't include that part in his adaptation.

If Anastasia was raised right she would probably be even nicer than Cinderella
I always wonder who's the oldest to youngest in the 3 siblings.
Is it Drizella, Cinderella and Anastasia being the youngest?
Anastasia turned good from Cinderella 2 I was so happy
Yes sadly it was her mother and her sister was mean and cruel
Charlene O'Neill yeah drizella and her stepmother was so mean they will never change they’re ways

Maybe Drizella can change. We see after Anastasia stands up for herself and the step mother is about to leave, Drizella is clearly surprised. Maybe even at awe. And I think she also looks back at Anastasia and the baker when she is leaving with her mother. Maybe all she needed was more time and the right person just like her sister.
Isn't it weird that nobody else had the same shoes size as Cinderella
Extremely small feet.
Magic shoes?!
The shoe refused to fit anyone else
@@kawaiichann3112 Yeah the glass shoe probably don't want any other people feet because their feet smells stink and only want Cinderella's feet😂😂😂
This makes sense because if any of you watched Descendants, Anastasia’s Daughter/Son wasn’t on the isle. Only Drazilla’s Daughter, Dizzy. Which means Anastasia lived in Auradon.

The Princes was hilarious in the 3rd movie. I'm glad they gave him more character development and personality.
Didnt he yeet himself from the window?!?
For the 2 movies he did not have much personality but now he does!
The 3rd movie had depth imo on the Prince's side x3
I remember being so confused when she was bad again in the third one
Bruh same-
Tbh I always viewed the time line a little like 1 3 and then 2 since it feels like 3 happens in between (besides the frog bit)
Maybe 3 is it's own thing & isn't related to the timeline?
@@user-qx2kb9jl4y I know right, honestly I love Anastasia more than Cinderella no cap- 😭
Anastasia may not be a princess we know but she's one of the person who taught us to be a better person of ourselves
Yes
It's a nature vs nurture argument.
...
I completely agree. Anastasia is able and determined to become a better person and she makes that happen.

Pokèmon!
I loved how the king let Anastasia keep the 🐚
Why do I feel like these are the only two direct-to-DVD sequels that actually had a story that made sense and was worth being told? Not saying they weren’t flawed, but they seem to be quite a bit better than other sequels Disney put out at that time
In the second movie, the love story between Anastasia and the Baker is the only good one. The other stories are garbage but this one is beautiful.
I liked Little mermaid 2
I remember seeing one review that said the original Cinderella is such a blank slate of a story, you could almost add whatever and make it a meaningful, transformative piece of work.
Also given the time gap between the original and the sequels, normally the quality of the sequel at the time would look worse, however here it actually looked like the animation quality here improved.
Bambi II is good and has a meaningful story too, though it's a midquel and not a sequel.

I love that movie. Jacqueline is the best.
Jacqueline was so adorable. I love Ever After and Cinderella 3 (and the part in Cinderella 2 where Anastasia meets the Baker).

@@reenaki_art
Well, jealousy is stupid.
XD
Even in Ever After, the stepmother sold her stepdaughter because of depleted funds.

I liked that in all timelines she repents and has a redemption arc.

i relate to anastasia so much. she knew how much she felt like cinderella's supporting character. my best friend (obviously nothing against her) is gorgeous, has good grades etc. i've always felt like her side character friend. i was never as perfect as her.
Cinderella :*catfiahes prince * Prince :I love you !
Also Prince :what did she looked like?
Cinderella: has feet no one has
Prince : lets get married one the third day they met
Me: *reads your comments*
Me: *concludes you didn't understand the original movie*
I’m glad that Cinderella was able to get one of her stepsisters to turn good.
One of them anyways
me too
Yeah and Anastasia realize she wants to follow her own path her and the baker man make a great couple
@@chibifangirlXD I agree
I feel like the king was actually Eric from little mermaid
Obvious Troll that means melody is the queen of the sea and the prince is Melody’s little brother
And the prince DOES look a lot like Eric.
I thought that too😂
And the Queen is red-haired, too!
Oh wow haha I wanna call ur bluff but hey it's possible
Personally, I believe Cinderella 2: Dreams Cone True is underrated... It's such a good movie and I feel like more people should watch it. Anyone else w/me?
I'm here with ya. Yeah, it's super underrated 😌❤
It’s only good for the Anastasia/Baker plot. The first bit was okay but the middle plot with Jacques becoming human was absolute trash tbh.
@@BradyRanger Everyone's entitled their opinion. (Not sounding rude but serving a simple reminder.)
The soundtrack is fire ngl
I'm with ya
If Cinderella’s slipper fit perfectly how did it fall off?
Sweat
*Cinderella's rushed mode activated at kingdom ball*
Considering that most of the artifacts created by magic returned to their original state of being besides the shoes, perhaps this was actually planned out by the magic?
This is quite far fetched, but maybe the magic knew when to kick in like that, loosen the slipper so that it would fall off her foot so that the prince could later on track her down?
@@lobeliaowl2482 smart guess.
Even though I already knew all this I still watched this video because he's so passionate about what he discusses in his videos
Tbh I think Cinderella’s torn dress is still rlly beautiful
Fun Fact: Drizella was originally going to be the stepsister to change her ways

Hoping for Cinderella 4 😃

This video kept popping up in my suggestions and I didn’t care for it. Once I saw it, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to. I just had a break up with a guy who doesn’t believe in happy endings. So this video really helped anchor me to those beliefs more. If you’re kind and true hearted, there is no reason for you not to fall in love. Even if your start wasn’t the best. ❤️ there is love for everyone.
Got that right ☺ ☺☺ ☺
When Cinderella's Glass Sliper fall's out why was it a perfect fit?
And my most angry emoji is this 🤬😠😡😤
Fairy Godmother's Plan.
Sweat
She was rushing dude-
In the original Story, Cinderella comes to three balls. Upon the third night, the Prince knew she was going to leave him again without finding Out her identity, so He let his servants Cover the castle's steps with Pitch so she would get stuck in them and couldn't leave. But only one shoe got stuck, Disney just didn't include that part in his adaptation.
I did not realize this!
"I aint never seen two mean step-sisters, its always one of them gotta be a little nice
I honestly loved the storyline of Anastasia.
