Regarding the audio recording, the smaller icon(s) that appear on the note are is to play the part of the audio corresponding to the notes. Basically if I were to record audio during a lecture while taking notes, the small icons would appear alongside my notes at regular intervals and I could jump to the part of the audio corresponding the notes I was writing at that time.
For anyone that is still confused about the Math and Research tab, make sure that you are logged into one note with an office 365 subscription email address. Once you are logged into that account then you can add your personal account for the features to show up. Must login in with the subscription account first.
I use the 2016 one and it syncs with any device just as easily as your Windows 10 one. I also love 2016 more because it has more features, that are actually useful..Thanks for the video.

Very helpful video! Could you make a video on how to make a OneNote backup and how to restore a backup? For example, I would like to schedule a daily backup saved every night into my PC and store at least 90 individual backups for past 90 days, if today I make a mistake or deleted something accidentally, I would like to be able to restore a previous 10 days ago backup or restore the latest most recent backup. If one day OneNote no longer exists I will not lose all my data if I have a copy of OneNote data saved in my PC. I guess now OneNote data is saved online by default. I also wish to learn how to schedule 90 days of backup to cloud and learn how to restore from the cloud. Unable to find video teaching how to schedule backup OneNote to my local PC. Do share your usual OneNote backup plan too. Thanks.
Thanks for the vid I learned some things. I'm not sure if i missed it but my onenote on windows 10 it doesn't have the math or researcher on insert tab. From my googling those features at this time may only be available if you have the office 365 subscription.

You can create section groups and subpages for additional layers. So it would look like Notebook -> Section Group -> Section -> Page -> Subpage -> Subpage -> Subpage -> etc. I'm sure there's a limit to how many layers of subpages you can make but with those you can have quite a bit more flexibility.

Hey, I have both the OneNote App and OneNote 2016 on my laptop. Now i set a default page template in 2016 (in letter format), but in the app it still always opens a full size canvas. Is there a way that I can create a new page with letter format in the app? Edit: I dont necessarily need a letter sized page, but I want to be able to print my notes, and therefore I don't want them to be wider than the letter format. I don't mind the length of the page.
Hello. I have installed in my Office 365 and this package does not come with Onenote, as in the version I had before, Office 2016. I took notes in scheduled meetings in my Outlook 2016, but with Outlook 365, I no longer have this integration. Is it possible to restore this integration with OneNote Windows 10?. So why did Microsoft decide to remove the right click pop up function to edit fonts?! I can't understand why it's gone on the desktop version.... but you can still use it on Onenote Online! Is there a way to turn this pop up font change functionality on or do I have to literally move my mouse up to the top of the screen everytime I want to edit my font?

Is there a real difference in using onenote on office 365 vs the free browser version? Do they work the same?
There are a few more options with a 365 subscription.

Hi June, I use Camtasia. It's available on Windows or Mac. Very easy to use. I also use a green screen behind me that the software eliminates.
