I am just getting started with OneNote and I so appreciate this video. You explain slowly and clearly and hit all the things that I want to do. I already have notebooks, sections and pages but you didn’t over explain those and moved on to things even more powerful without making them complicated. Thank you!
I’ve been using OneNote as my second brain for about five years now, and you just taught me a whole bunch of new tricks. Hands-down, the best video on this topic that I’veseen, and your cheeky attitude and accent, just make watching it that much more fun. Subscribed!
Awesome tutorial - thanks very much for putting this together. The integration with Microsoft To Do is something that I rely on and unfortunately this feature is not included in the Mac version.
Now that I’m not completely immersed in the Apple ecosystem, I’ve had to look elsewhere for my note taking needs. OneNote has been around forever now and is cross platform compatible. It’s what I’m using until Microsoft evolves OneNote into Planner/Loop or whatever comes next.
You can record live (in person) meetings in OneNote, and your text notes are synced to the audio. Can you do this with the audio coming from a Teams (online) meeting?
Dear, Dear Jonathan, I am missing tip number 16: How do you create a horizontal line, which is very easy to do in Evernote? Like the HTML line. This is the only reason I haven’t moved to OneNote.
I've been using OneNote for years, but now I'm testing Loop, which is very interesting for taking notes. Loop does not work offline, so it's not a big disadvantage for me.
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for providing the tips on OneNote. I’ve learned new things from your video. Can I please make one recommendation. Your scene transition sound is very grating when listening through my AirPods. It sounds like something was wrong with the video.
Dear Jonatahan. Awesome video. But... I didn't switch to the new Outlook yet just because I cannot find that OneNote Icon when customizing the toolbar. Why can you seen it and I can't?
@@bearded365guy I have the same problem. The New Outlook doesn't have this option "send to onenote", old outlook has this option. That's why I still use the old outlook
Awesome video. I’m a long term OneNote user. The problem with the new outlook is that it doesn’t have a search box for the notebooks like the desktop. This makes filing emails tedious. That is why I stick to the desktop version. Also the Loop integration into OneNote is a game changer for me. Best update feature by far. Tip: copy the Loop meeting notes in teams to your OneNote page of choice. It is a great way to keep track of team tasks and you can make private notes.
My main problem with Onenote is appearance on phone. How do I disable all horizontal scrolling in Onenote so that the text just wraps around on my phone? Other notes apps (like Notion) can have big wide pages on the PC but then when synced to the phone just text wrap automatically around the size of the phone. I know some people want the OPTION of a great big drawing space on their phone - and spend a minute scrolling horizontally - but I'm only using this for Admin and passwords and stuff when out and about. I just want stable reading as I scan down the page - and don’t want it to wobble side to side like it’s drunk! Are there any answers? The Microsoft forum responses to this issue are not encouraging.
Recently discovered your channel and I've been binging. I'm struggling with one aspect of my workflow. I used to drag and drop an Outlook email into a note to refer to at my next meeting it was just an attachment like the file you demonstrated. The new Outlook and One Note doesn't allow embedded emails and I don't want to drop the whole email on the page. I'd be happy just having a hyperlink that will open the email when I click on it. Much like a flagged email in To Do links back to the email. I'v done a good amount of digging and haven't found a solution. Any advice would be helpful.
Somethin I miss with Onenote is a good storage for all my Powershell scripts, it's not impossible to store scripts in Onenote but it looks like shit. And it would be nice to have a button that automatic open the script in VS Code.
One option that I use: select the 2nd from left line width, and select "Microsoft YaHei" (size 9) as your default font. It will maintain 2 lines of text per line on the page. Or, if you like large text, ue 18 as the font size - 1 line of text on each line of the "paper"/page. :)
This has been frustrating for me, where is this OneNote app at? I have Microsoft Office 365 and when I opened the OneNote app up it was missing a lot of features and found out that was OneNote for Windows 10, I go into my Microsoft 365 app I see it in there I click on it and it opens up Microsoft Edge and has a OneNote but still missing a lot of features like the template and not app download.

For me you are the best teacher I've ever had! definitely professional! Thank you for so much
This man really knows his stuff. Thanks for so many tips and tricks!
Great video. I am transitioning from Apple Notes to OneNote and this was really helpful. Already loving OneNote 😊
One extra Tip: If you already use the OneDrive App on iPhone/Android the Office Lense functionality is built in. No need for another app!
Been using OneNote forever - Such a superb tool
Awesome vdo. I am a long time onenote user … wish i had a dad like that!
This was really helpful. Thanks!
Great, useful and funny video - nice job. Loved it.
"What kind of notes can you type in OneNote? Just text and headers? Hell no!" hilarious Thanks for the vids!😁😂

Will Draw/Shapes/lines work for you? Any colour, any length any thickness (within reason)

I find Loop not to be as good as OneNote, even with some of its cool and unique features
Amazing! I have used OneNote for many years, and i have never used (or known about) Tags or History. Thanks for this!

Loop is much better now and I have completely transitioned . I find OneNote very inefficient
@@agraharafamily5634 I think Loop might overtake OneNote.

I always thought the lined background looked ok until you start to type. Before long, the text lines are out of sync with the drawn lines.

Is it better to invest your note taking in OneNote or loop? It seems Microsoft is going all in on loop?
Not sure. I think for Note taking, OneNote still wins.
Hi Jonathan,
Not able to send a single page of onenote. It only prompt for pdf attachment. Can you please help out?

To clarify - you mention iPhone and iPad - but all this functionality is available on Android too.
It is indeed.
It works well on android. I've used OneNote for several years and love it. Watching this to see if I can pick up some new tips. Thanks!
Yes it actually has better features on the android app compared to using my iPad. Especially when scanning documents
how did you get Loop component in OneNote?
Is Loop enabled in your organisation?
