Jamie, thank you for your excellent training video on OneNote, both the download app and the online versions. I loved how well organized you were - you didn't waste a lot of time trying to decide what to cover. You actually had a good idea of what needed to be covered then did it. It was very clear and understandable. I learned a lot about OneNote that I wasn't aware of. I also appreciate the link to Office Lens. I'm going to get it now.

You in my mind are the best teacher in the TECH world. Great job as always. What makes you stand out is when you zoom in all the time so you can visually see what you area talking about! Plus you are so informative and perfect in your transitions. You do not leave any doubt when you are done with a video!

I needed to get up-to-speed on OneNote quickly, and tried several other videos first. None were very helpful or watchable. I don't think I made it past the first minute or two. But this one was great. Thank you!

    Great tutorial.
I used Onenote for taking my college notes.
For daily lists or small memos, I use Google Keep, but for anything longer, I use Onenote. It's AWESOME.

I get so much out of your tutorials. OneNote is so complex this is now the second time I have watched this presentation. I'm a Windows user and always check my version as you go through various things. I wish to confirm that I can definitely search on tags, this will be so useful to me, especially as I'm setting up a Notebook for a conference I am going to this week. I also love the video/audio options, again they will be very useful. I have used the web clipper with mixed success, but I have to confess that I use the "Insert" - screen clipping more often from within the app. It has its limitations because it only clips what's on the screen, but often that is sufficient as it lets me know the address from which it was clipped as well. I use OneNote extensively as my recipe book and have now digitised all my favourite recipes - no more recipe books! The search function, as you say, is wonderful for that. Even though I have a section for - beef, lamb, chicken, fish etc. I can search across all sections for a specific ingredient. Thank you again from Downunder. I find your tutorials very easy to follow and learn from. Keep them coming. Oh, and BTW, I was an Evernote user until I found OneNote! I've just realised this is my second comment on this tutorial - sorry!

Hi Valerie! The recipe book is a great way to use OneNote. I'm going to make another video on OneNote for Windows 10 in the next few weeks. Yes, on 2016 OneNote (windows) tags are searchable. Thanks for the feedback on how you use OneNote!

This is the second (and most recent) video I've watched on OneNote. I started using Evernote, but found it not very intuitive. I've been using OneNote for a while and just bumbling along, but more recently have found better ways of using it. Now, having watched your tutorial some more things are clear. Thank you for your tutorial. It was really helpful.
One point I would make is that when you demonstrated the 'draw' menu, it would be helpful to show that it is necessary to return to 'type' mode otherwise you will be finding yourself frustrated when you wish to type something again and then need to go to 'eraser' etc. I found this out the hard way!

I am learning more about the wider range that OneNote has for me. I am now a consultant and need more flexibility than I have with GoogleDrive/Docs. I am not a big fan of Evernote, even though I have used it over the years. After comparing the 3, OneNote is winning at this point in my career.

Good video. I tried Google Keep or Evernote, but picked OneNote in the end.
Love the inking functionality and it works great if you use a Surface. I also like the video playback feature within OneNote. Often times I play the video and write notes beside it.
My biggest problem with OneNote is their syncing takes forever between my Windows and iPhone app. I also use Google Docs instead of Word, and Google's sync is almost instant. Microsoft really needs to work on their sync speed.

Okay, first it's based on paper notebooks (Hilroy?) you probably had in school. You had several, different colors, one for science, one for history, etc. In each notebook you had pages. But you could also have divided that notebook into sections. And that's what OneNote is based on. Different notebooks, different sections, all comprised of pages. And like a real notebook page you could write anywhere on the page, or draw, or highlight, or scribble, etc. With OneNote however everything also is linked/synched together, and you can also screengrab entire pages (or parts), and of course jazz it up and do various things with functions that they've obviously incorporated from Word.

Hard part is to decide what items should go into which application.

Things like, are there any ways to incorporate a deadline. Or mark something to be dealt with the next day or further away. Input dates and time in the future. That type of little stuff. Thanks.

Jamie: Excellent format for the video. I take it you shot yourself with a green screen and added that footage to the recording of the screen grab. What applications and process are you using to create these? It looks so much better than a picture-in-picture approach. I would guess, in the beginning, you found out how much lighting is needed to do an accurate green screen and properly light your face. I might suggest a little face powder to take the shine off of your face and head. Attention to detail :)

I always enjoy learning new software. But the instructor in this video did not seem to be organized. It was very difficult to follow him as he went along. He would start to show us something, and then he would "oh that's not what I wanted to do" have to back out and then click somewhere else. I follow directions in a straight line. And his 'back and forth' movements were very distracting. Also, his constant mentioning of the other software evernote I think it was, was very distracting. I am glad I found out about OneNote though. I am eager to start using it.
