  • DIY Quick Jack truck adapters. Rather than spend almost $250 on a set of truck adapters I decided to build my own. Don't do what I do - this video is for entertainment and not intended as something you should copy. Stay safe!

I’m always Flanders when I see people improve inventions that require extra skills that most people lack. If I had welding, fabrication skills… most wouldn’t rely on creators like quickjack, Pittsburg…. But that’s my 2 cents.

Excellent. I too looked at the quick jacks. Definitely going this route and making them. This was decided as soon as I saw the price. Like your channel.

This is great! I went to my local shop and picked up tubing and plate (~$45 total). Plan on building tomorrow.

For pads I cut up old car tires to use works great.

Did you glue them? What part of the tire did you use?

Even if you don't have scrap tube laying around, you could buy a few feet of it from a metal supplier for much less than the truck adapters. No welder? Maybe a friend has one that could help.... glad I found this. I'm doungbit whenever I get some QJs....

What about a piece of hard wood trimmed to fit the bottom and lined hit hard rubber on top... quick easy cheap

11:31 “this chunk of frame” is the actual gm specified front lift point.

Great project. Could you add strong magnets to the help keep them in place on the Quick Jack tray?

That’s not necessary. Once you park a couple tons on them they’ll never move.

Any forseen issues with making these about 10" tall? Obviously make the plates large enough to occupy the whole cavity they sit in to prevent movement, but is there any limit to height as long as you can get the lifting motion to work (I know you can't lift from zero inches due to the parallellogram design)?

Good question. At some point I’d think you’d start to get a little tippy but not sure where that point is. At 6” I dont feel like I’ve lost much if any stability. I think the oem risers are 7” if I remember correctly.

OEM risers are 7.2 so close enough. Quick question: Couldn't you have used a set of small jack stands or beefier bottle jacks in each corcer instead?

I’d love to get these and make ‘em screw up to the pinch welds. Like on a big lift
