need to have that Raptor stance… you can make it look like a Raptor but in the end it’s not

I’m part of the ford truck community and I don’t care if you put a raptor grille on your truck because the raptor grille looks damn good especially the 2nd gen raptor grille

@@jameswhittaker3776 don't forget the thicker control arms, shock mounts, 2.0 live valve fox shocks, lower gear ratios, torssen front locker, longer rear axle, offroad mode that allows locker/4x4 changes at any speed, and removes all limits. All that and people only copy the red stripe on steerling wheel and lights ford was required to use by DOT they didn't want to add originally.
@dawildcatz87 thicker parts are a given when running a wider setup, all those "features" you listed off are ford's attempt at modding an f150 for you. It's the same truck. A Raptor is an F150 that Ford "built out" for you. Because it can be duplicated for cheaper on a loaded xlt f150. Why BUY a Raptor when you can literally bolt on build an f150 and get the same result for cheaper. It's the same drive train. Sure the gearing is shorter in the Raptor. It's called tuning or if you care to a shift kit and a new torque converter. My point in this little topic has always been. "Why let Ford build your truck for you and charge you $25k for it when you can do the same for $15k?"
@@jameswhittaker3776 you can't build the same truck with an xlt , not even close , you would AT LEAST have to get a lariat but more likely is a platinum or limited... my raptor has heated and cooled leather front and rear parking assist , moonroof , and on and on and on .. its a hard loaded raptor but even a base raptor is more loaded than a lariat , so no you're not building the "sAmE tRuCk" from a poverty spec xlt , oh and have you priced out wide body fenders and quarters lately ? then installed them to the same quality as the factory did?? i get it bud, you're poor and you can't afford a raptor so instead you tell yourself you're "gUnNa bUiLd MuH xLt SuMdAy" and in your mind you think it's gonna be better than ford could ever do , but A: that's never gonna happen and 2: even if it did like say you bought some temu bolt on garbage for your poverty spec 2012 f150 xlt , it's still gonna look like a hot pile of garbage... people will look when they go by but not for a good reason ! whereas my shit breaks necks and gets compliments EVERYWHERE , and i haven't even put my deavers and eibacks and 37s on yet 😉

I just color matched mine with white. I'm getting rid of ALL the chrome. It's disgusting.
I'm 41 and I think only old men like my dad in their 60's and up like "chrome bumpers, etc..." My own little son loves our blacked out truck...
@@Baneslayer I'm 53. Back in the day, chrome made sense because there was no viable plastic and metal bumpers and rubber/metal window seals were the only option, so chrome looked good. Today,, though, most "chrome" is plastic and you're right, it's bad.

I have same engine as a raptor 3.5 twin turbo. All I modified was shocks wheels and tires, everything else is stock and I love it.
So you put live valves shocks on it? Lol
Look up "oil catch can" for that engine and make sure you buy one.

I hate the amber light trend, they’re there because they serve a purpose on vehicles that require them.
They make raptor grills for all the suvs and trucks and it gives most of them a better appearance
I put one on my 7.3 Excursion. It's the best looking grille offered for a super duty that age imo.

I think it compliments the raptors because the material and texture matches the other panels that were added to match. Some trucks can make it look right, and some just throw off the flow of the vehicle.
As a representative of the Ford community I am not a gatekeeper you can modify and customize your truck however you see fit.
There’s only one truck sin in my eyes. And that’s putting fenders/fender flares on without getting wider tires 🤮 , stock height, stock rake and stock wheels with flares on. Good god.

I have one on my 11th gen F150 and it is easily the best grill option for that generation and really all modern Fords. The amber lights are the cherry on top!
Yet I see more and more F150's popping up with the FORD grille. It makes me want to switch to a limited or platinum grille 😂
I like the factory grill more on my f150 but I also think the raptor grille looks better on the previous year models

That should just be the standard F150 grille. I like it better than the stock one. The way it spells out F O R D in big, bold letters rather than on the oval sort of reminds me of some of the old school trucks from the 70s and 80s.
I prefer the Lariat grille. My truck is an XL but I installed the same grille you have. I actually dislike the Raptor grille in looks but I do believe it lets in more air. I have considered biting the bullet and installing one for that reason alone.

The best up-badge I saw was the srt V6 charger. Some teenager had it at a gas station and I think it had hellcat badges on it but looked off. Bro started it and it was like a Camry I’m like there is no way bro made a V6 hellcat.
I want a V6 charger or challenger myself to do donuts. No shame in it we all start somewhere. My first car was a Toyota Corolla I straight piped, loud as shit and no traction control or abs it was fun. I loved it more than my 2014 Passat I got now

I like the raptor grille. I don't think it's showing off anything becuase it's obviously not a rapter, it's just a nice looking grille. And you see so many of these grilles out there these days even on 10th gen ford's which predate the raptor and on non ford trucks as well. It's just a nice style, Chevy sells basic trucks stock with these style grilles. It's not like putting fake trim badges on or a 4x4 sticker on a 2wd truck.
let me explain as a raptor owner.
we get deffensive because if we dont have the stickers (i prefer a clean truck without the stickers) there reeally istn much to distinguish other than the grille and the fender flares. I think people do their own builds. do i like it no but im not going to make someone remove it. its like all the other trucks trying to put the running lights in the grille. we have them because our trucks are wide and regulation says we have to have them.
as for the DODO or OOOO grills, Ford has a lock on the Ford Logo and Word. so aftermarket has to do the OOOO or DODO so they dont get sued by ford,. Thats why you have to buy aftermarket letters for those grills.
I have a black 2014 f150 and put the grill , headlights and tail lights. I know mine isn’t a raptor and I just love the look

I personally like the STX grille.
My 2004 F-150 had one that I installed and it looked so good. I got it after my old grill cracked in half when I guy cut me off and I swerved onto the center barrier and took out 2 signs. Unfortunately the truck was completely totaled out in 2023 when it rolled over several times down a ditch before hitting a tree, however I was not injured and the grill actually flew off the truck in one piece and is sitting in my room 😅 my 2001 F-150 also has a raptor grill but I didn’t put the Ford letter on it, looks better without them on the 01 lol

I think it’s fine as long as you don’t put raptor badges on the truck. Having that grill just shows you like the raptor style grill but aren’t trying to up badge the truck and make people think you have a raptor

the only people that care are the Raptor owners that realise they could have bought an XLT and put that grill on it instead of paying 30k more for an actual Raptor.

I got one for my 2017 XLT but it's just the honeycomb style...it doesn't have the "FORD" on it. It's just all open. Never bothered to wire up the amber leds tho.
The real shame is that those beautiful Ridge Grapplers suck so bad in the rain.

I see them everywhere. Sometimes they put fender flairs on over the wheel wells too. I can’t talk tho bc I have had several cars where I got carried away w the changes too.
Those grills jist make me notice the truck, then I look at the fenders/bumpers and say, "not a Raptor"

They took my license for 12 years i jusg got medically approved to drive 60 days ago my mother went out and spent $3,000.00 on a 2005 FX4. It will be my forever truck i got this grill and i love it.. im buying piece by piece eventually ill have a damn good looking truck

I have the raptor grille on the 16 5.0 but have 2 built in LEDs in on the bottom 2 pieces that are usually left empty. They act as lights (obviously) and blinker.
I really wish it wouldn’t even fit. It’s a spit in the face of the people that spend the money for the Raptor. It’s their benefit, not some wannabe. Spend the money. Nothing worse than posers.

It looks the absolute worst on 12th gen F-150s because the 1st gen Raptor has a different hood/grille setup overall, so when people put raptor grilles on regular 12th gen F-150s, it just looks terrible.
