This was actually said in an interview by Chino previously. Chronologically I don't know how it compares to this video but he said he did not like the label nu metal. He had mentioned that it felt that it put a label and or timestamp on the sound. He said that there shouldn't be an expiration date on good music, or at least something to that effect. I wholeheartedly agree. Great music never dies and never gets old.

I know. "Back to School" was only a business move. Chino dislikes that song. They just made it because the record company wanted them to make something similar to Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach etc... I don't see why they included that song instead of "Knife Prty" or a dozen of other better tracks...

It’s hard to not put Change in the house of flies as number 1...
isaac garcia man a lot of diff ones/(certain serious fans) don’t want to have nothing to do whatsoever with THAT tune bcos they consider that song as Deftones’ ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’..., their ‘Jeremy’..., their ‘Bulls On Parade’..., their ‘No One Knows’..., etc etc etc. which in a way it is, u know? Their stardom, ‘being knownst’ sort to speak... amongst the masses! Yeah, when that song made its debut on both the radio & Mtv... things have never been the same for these Sacramento boys!!! And any serious or even so-so fan of theirs knows that to be very true! So the track became a ‘poison’ to the diehard ears of the Deftones army & remained just that to this very day! Hell, when they brought out the most famous of all the ‘Maggit remixes’... that being 1... ‘Back to School’... I mean, good lord! Look what happened to that one! I mean, that’s a great friggin’ jam of theirs BUT it’s kind of cursed upon as well w/just about any/all your most serious diehard fans, is it not?! Hell, I’ve always loved it! Even tho’ when I go to listen to it (just the same w/Change...) I cant help but to feel just a tad bit of guilt like I’m doing something wrong here w/giving this tune love or attention when I should just so very well be doing so with ANYTHING found within the entire Deftones’ musical catalogue no matter what it to be! Idk, it’s just so ridiculous ya know?! Really?! Who gives a friggin’ rat’s ass which/whatever song it is I’m or Any1 else for that matter giving such attention to...?! As long as it’s something found within their entire history of great friggin’ music that I’m just jammin’ my ass off to. Something that’s showing off what these guys are capable of producing for any/every1’s ears! Something that helps explain mine or well 4 that matter, every1’s unbelievable amount of respect that I/they/we all have 4 the boys of good ol’ Sacramento, CA! Want to know what’s a shame here when it comes to these guys and their talent/fame??!!! I’ll tell ya what it is!!! It’s the so ridiculously little amount of respect n likeness that’s only shown/given to what I personally think is some of their very best friggin’ overall talent that’s so greatly poured out upon from the very beginning to the very end! That being 2 of their unbelievably so highly disrespected LP’s that just don’t receive the recognition they so righteously deserve! Those are 2006’s ‘Saturday Night Wrist’ LP & 2012’s ‘Koi No Yokan’!!! I just have never been able to get past why the hell it is that these two LP’s just don’t receive what they should have coming to em as like what 2000’s ‘White Pony’ and/or 1997’s ‘Around The Fur’. I just strongly feel that the lack of respect those two only get thruout all these yrs amongst the fans is a far bigger outcry than any sort of crapola type of argument ‘Change ITHOF’ can produce, you know?!

God, there is absolutely nothing better than driving with the windows open on a cool night in the middle of nowhere, and cranking digital bath. Driving fast with the fresh air blowing and that song playing is so stress relieving!

deftones has been 1 of my favorite bands since around the fur with adrenaline being my favorite album. they have been a huge influence for me but i fell out of love with them after Dimond eyes.

Everyone says that deftones got better as they aged but in my opinion, their first 3 albums were their best. As an avid hip hop fan, I digged their funk/metal sound more than their more emotional phase. Chi was a huge hip hop and funk guy and it really showed in all his riffs.

I think pretty much everyone feels the same about Cherry Waves, Rosemary, Beware, Tempest, Entombed... basically every song that wasn't already mentioned.
I discovered the Deftones after I graduated from highschool...which was somehow a perfect coincidence because I've been feeling more lonely since then. I barely get to see some of my good old friends anymore and people I normally saw every day. I drive to college a couple days a week and I feel what the Deftones feel, a sad feeling of isolation but you still gotta move on.

Witnessing "Tempest" live in concert was the greatest moment of my life. Really amazing songs in the top 10, at the beginning and end. "Phantom Bride" is incredible, yasss Jerry Cantrell! I love that they included a nod to "Sextape" and the real inspiration for "Digital Bath"

My favorite Deftones song will always be Digital Bath, hearing this tune in 2000 while being a lost teenager... I can´t describe the feelings and it never gets old, it is still an amazing song with so many layers and an energy that´s unique.

Personally, Lotion's my favourite Deftones song but I can agree with this list

The thing about deftones is noooooo one is gonna share a top 10 they are so varied and emotionally relatable that everyone gets different feelings from different songs. Their complexity would never allow for an even acceptable top 10. But hey! I'm glad you guys made this video because it will expose new people to them. And everyone deserves deftones in their life.
