Just took 2 days off of my current job to find a new one. Very toxic AF work environment. I have an interview tomorrow @ 11:30am. Wish me luck! This job would be paying me almost double my current salary!

8 months in.... Only black in my department.... Racist trainer and manager... Jealous... My trainer had a heart attack as he couldn't handle his newly rewarded responsibility... He started denying me the final portion of my training. My manager decided that I needed to figure it out on my own... Then gave me the responsibility of the work my trainer was supposed to do while he was out recovering from his heart attack.... My left arm started feeling slightly numb, I started to feel the twitch am I that Anne-Marie was speaking of... I quit!!! Never quit a job before in my life but I quit and I made sure I left with all my responsibilities intact and then at the end of the day, I went to go see HR and turned in my equipment ( I was working from home remote still). Would you believe, my body reset... My creative juices started flowing.... At first I felt guilty waking up happy and knowing that I could do self employment and not have somebody over my shoulder.... But after about 2 months I was good to go! I noticed on Sundays that I didn't have that anxiety about Monday morning anymore!!! I had to be brave... But I did it! This August will be 2 years!!!🎉

Walk away trust me, I got ulcers and had so many health ussues because my job treated me horribly. I just stayed and took it. Then when I was told I had cancer, I finally left because I had no choice. Im now cancer free and returned to work for another company that I love honestly.

I've got family and "friends" that roll their eyes at me about it...You will lose your mind😶I had a breakdown...I'm still recovering. For YOUR health leave if you can.

I have a few family members who think I'm lying especially the ones who work in HR. Some were raised entitled and they really don't get it. I have decided that these people are simply on another level and they will never understand my experience, due to their entitled lives.

The worst white supremacist I worked for was a BW. I was working for an insurance company in NC and my supervisor was a BW named Patricia. Almost all of middle management were BW (I am Black myself). Anyway, 3 of us were hired at the same time, 1 White, 1 White-Hispanic and me. The sun set and rose on the white nurse, the Latina was treated not poorly by her but there definitely was a difference. Me, oh I was dumb, couldn’t comprehend the information, had her standing over me in front of people trying to correct me etc…it was horrible. I would leave everyday in tears, not because I was hurt, but because I wanted to provide some street justice lol. Meanwhile, all of us new hires had the same degrees etc, and NO ONE else complained about my work but her. In fact, the doctors loved me and part of my job was mediation and court testimony. Long story short, I unfortunately did not have the information you ladies are providing now and just left w/o a package and much frustration. I personally so appreciate this information, I have learned my value is WAY beyond a retirement fund, I can live off of rice and beans lol. I am out if my job no longer serves my mental health!

Your former supervisor sounds like my current minion from the pit of h*** BW supervisor. I'm currently planning a resignation with immediate effect. I was retaliated by being put on a PIP . My accommodations aren't being honored. HR is complicit. Therapy and an employee rights attorney helped me use leave to exit plan . You're not alone. Be encouraged.

A toxic work environment caused me to open my own business while still working in that environment. It gave me an escape. I invested in myself and gave that toxic environment very little of my energy. Please look at your managers as gatekeepers for the abuse because they will never give up their job for you.

Also speech delay/slurs and loss of handwriting skills due to nerves. As far as speech, I remember my words began to not come out correctly. I would stumble over my words. I also began to be very slow to speak, having to be careful about what I say and trying not give too much information. It was me realizing that I couldn’t trust anyone in conversation. You begin to not know who is who because most people were either wearing a mask or were easily manipulated by the social leader or they don’t know that the little information they share can be a big help for the social leader and the smear campaign. 💆🏽‍♀️ So then you learn to be quiet and not be yourself because anything you say, they run with or use it against you. You find that the best thing to do is keep quiet. Then you realize that you’re in bondage because you can’t be yourself in said environment which is awful and should be unacceptable to the person that is dealing with those circumstances. And that’s exactly what it was, me being shocked because I actually had ever been through that before but people would say, “aww girl that happens at every job and it’s going to happen at any job you go to.” In my mind, I’m thinking like ok I just told you that I’ve never been through this at any job I’ve worked at previously. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I worked for General Motors in Bolingbrook. The General foreman ran me off. I couldn't take it no more. They sent me through pure hell. I use to have headaches and everybody knew what they were doing to me. The union would not help. It felt like I was going through this alone. So I left, before I went to jail. She hated herself and hated that I got, alone with everybody. She use to say she was the head hbic lol. Very toxic

I have a hunch that much of the running you out of there has to do with the intimidating feeling that you're out to get their spot or that you will somehow interfere with their ambitions to get to the top, whatever that means to them. Unfortunately I hear about this more with the overseers and gatekeepers.😿
May we all enjoy success and thrive in our chosen and God gifted professions.

I left this hospital I was working at as soon as I sensed micromanagement and possibly discrimination. I got along with a lot of ppl there, but I felt like some doctors for example this latina doctor would stare me down for long periods. She thought I didn’t notice it but I did. Same for this white blonde female doctor, staring me down. I was the only black veterinary technician there. With that title there I have a lot of responsibility. Military background, professional, detail oriented all the great things I bring. I was on a probation, I caught wind that anonymous doctor(s) felt that I didn’t have enough experience. (Graduated school last yr). My supervisor told me I was doing a great job and it’s expected to relearn things etc. But just having that knowledge of doctors talking about me on my training days made me just leave. I don’t need that anxiety. I can see if it was 3-6 months and I’m not progressing whatsoever.

I always compare this to an abusive relationship. I got divorce while working in the toxic workplace. Therapy made me realize why people act the way they do. Why they get away with these things and how to navigate these obstacles. Sometimes it is not always about you. Get my education which started at home as a kid for me and use my knowledge to get to where I need to be. At the end of the day it may not be the key to success but it will help somewhere else. Still at this job but working while young, I know there is toxicity everywhere. Sadly I chose the least toxic place and see how individuals who have worked at the same place for 30 years and complain but have no clue what it is somewhere else and how they can be upset that they never had the opportunity to work anywhere else and experience that the grass isn't always greener.

Yes i had this mindset and it created constant paranoia frustration, depression, sadness, anger and ignoring my deeper feelings. Black women caused my work life in those cases to be a living hell. Its so disheartening to know BW hated me so much. White people women in particular literary thought they were better than me and alot if times they were given their titles and slept their way to the top. They also allowed the drama and toxicity to continue.

I dealt with this behavior for 9 years and 6 months; six months before I could retire with a 10-year pension.
I dealt mostly with a black president of a technical college, who sexually groped me, slid surveillance cameras under my hotel room door, and eventually gained access to my hotel room from a hotel member giving him a key to my hotel room, during a company conference. Dirty cops protected and assisted with concealing his identity, and patronized and laughed at me.
He had a handful of handlers who recruited black females to service mostly white men, politicians, and a few black men who would all show up on the campus for sexual pleasures. I said, "No," to their offers from the very beginning, and long story short I have not been able to obtain any job ever since.
Every black and white woman on the campus knew of and supported the president's agenda and his behavior. The head of HR was there to protect the president, not me.
Long story short, I lost my home, developed stage-3 breast cancer, and PTSD as several physical attacks were made on my life, after the president had one of his cousins take a picture of me and then post it throughout the small city where I had recently moved, with no family aside from my spouse and 2-daughters.
